Cannot install Yosemite on iMac that accompanies a partitioned El Capitan

Got a new iMac comes with El Capitan installed. Then, I created 3 partitions, who hold El Capitan, you hold Sierra and one I want installed Yosemite. Keep's message on installation of the software is too old for the machine. Tried the install app and disk image, no go.

Thoughts?

Strange question here.  I'm under Fusion Pro 7.1.2 and cannot be installed as a guest inside 10.11 El Capitan Yosemite...

    Step, that I followed:

    1. Downloaded Yosemite from the Mac App Store and move the file to the folder ~/Downloads
    2. Molten - create a new virtual machine using the file "install OS X Yosemite."
    3. Accept the default values and register the virtual machine on my local folder of the virtual machines.
    4. The virtual machine starts first the black Apple menu (the progress bar), then in the utilities OSX menu as expected.
    5. Here's where I'm stuck.  I choose "Install Mac OS X" and click on the button continue, but nothing happens.  I turned on the Installer log viewer and an error message:

OS X Utilities [487:12972] failed to launch application.  Exception: launch path is not accessible

I can run disk utility and see a Macintosh HD formatted and ready to accept the operating system that you expect.  I even deleted this drive and recreated successfully, but whenever I go back to the OS X Utilities menu, I can't go forward.

    Help?

    Thank you

    Bryan

    Hi Bryan,.

I've seen this exact problem before when the .app has been copied through a file system or a protocol that doesn't support all X OS metadata, such as FAT or NFS file systems share.  Which would explain the problem you see there?

For maximum reliability when you move the .app around, I recommend to use disk utility to the source to create a .dmg that contains the .app together and copy it to the .dmg on an HFS volume + destination.

Unfortunately, once the .app in this State, I have not yet found a way to fix it so that it works again... I have just transferred/downloaded a new copy and gone with that.

    I hope this helps!

  • Cannot install message of updates that Windows Update cannot currently check the updates because the service is not running

Original title: update Windows impossible currently to check updates because the service doesn't work (Vista 64)

I get the message: ' Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. "  You may have to restart your computer. "I rebooted without change.

I have Vista 64-bit with installed MSE and it cannot update its virus database.  I have also Windows Media Center put up a TV and may not be able to download an updated Guide.

Can someone help me please?  I just finished a full scan of Malwarebytes and a full scan of MSE - both in Mode safe mode with networking.

I found a few other forums similar to my problem, but I don't know that they are the same as mine.  I'm a little wary about some of the suggested corrections, so I thought I would like to get suggestions directly related to my problem.

  • Cannot install Flash on iMac

Recent attempts to update Flash Player on my iMac (10.6.8 and the latest versions of Safari and Flash Player) that always ends in failure. The installation application runs quickly to 95 percent installed, stop there and never finished. I tried to install with no other applications running. Also used the Adobe Flash application remove and then tried to install. All have failed. Someone on this site was able to install when he went to a wireless Ethernet connection, but my Mac's at work and I can only connect via wifi. At the time current Adobe Flash is not installed on my machine. Any suggestion is welcome.

For the record, another source recommended making the Flash Player

install after a start of the Mac. That worked and the player

  • Cannot install Windows 8, assuming that its due to the video card... Need help!

Hi all, I'm terribly frustrated today. I think the video card, a brand specifically 6450 marked as a 7450 here, is at the origin of the problems. The pilot was a mess and when I updated and restarted windows 8 (using the stock drivers) then updated after hesitating to Windows 8. After I restarted my computer, windows 8 has been roasted and I couldn't access what anyone, I had to do a recovery install. I wonder if there are any suggestions as to what I can do here, would like any advice! Nick

HI there - don't know why I don't post the model (h8-1227, a Pavilion), but regardless, the issue was not the video card.

    It's a seemingly simple, innocuous add-on I've used for over 2 years.

Never heard of the Asus AI Charger?  It is used to help to "mount" the power to the USB ports on a computer, allowing an iPad draw enough power to recharge in FACT.  It has been a great feature to my computer.

However such, it killed my first USB 3.0 ports, completely.  I would like to install the HP drivers and the USB port will work until I rebooted, then it stops.

I completely misunderstood this as something that might have been originally, but here, I looked at the USB ports in the Device Manager and saw the tag HAVE charger which they are attached.

Something SMALL, simple as it seems, is what was causing all that headache and frustration.  I probably lost more than 20 hours trying to solve a problem this stupid thing caused.  I even ended up buying a new video card, guess THAT's what the problem is here.

What's happened is that the only TWO things I have installed in the computer were the new drivers for video card, Office and the charger HAVE stupid!

Sometimes the simplest things are the most stupidly frustrating things!

  • Satellite A100: Cannot install recovery after having deleted the Ubuntu partition

    Hello friends,

I have the Satellite A 100. I was using dual OS - windows vista home edition and Ubuntu. Now I wanted to remove Ubuntu and so I did the stupidest thing - directly delete the partition with Ubuntu which had the GRUB files. Then to the laptop computer restart of course the Grub bootloader wasn't there and if the computer is not started or load any OS. Then I thought that I will reinstall Vista with product recovery CD but the progress reached at 2% and then I keep getting error 1117 a failure to read. I tried so many times without success. I even tried to install XP, but it says Intel boot agent cannot make connection. And it also fails.

Please help to reinstall Vista or XP. I'm really stuck and I learned a lesson not to tinker in mobile when it isn't those of Cup of tea!
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    > Now if I download EasyBCD how would I be able to run it or how should I use it?
You will not be able to run EasyBCD because you are not able to boot Vista.
EasyBCD can be installed only in Vista and will allow you to change the Vista Boot Manager.

I think you need to format the entire disk HARD again should erase all partitions and must attempt to reinstall Vista.

I recommend using a free tool called GParted LiveCD. Google for what it helps format the HARD drive!

Yes, you must delete all partitions, this will ensure that you will be able to start a clean slate with Windows 7 Professional.

    Thank you

    Hello kev1234567,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

I suggest that you download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to here.
You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Remember that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall on.

Once you have opened the Windows Installer Cleanup utility, it will fill all the programs installed on your computer by Windows Installer. Select iTunes and then click on the button Delete. It deletes all corrupted files or incomplete iTunes from your computer. Then remove the Hello and QuickTime. They will be both installed with iTunes again.

NOTE: iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your my default music folder and are not deleted by removing iTunes.

Then go to Apple.com and download the latest version of iTunes and try the installation again. You should now be successful in installing iTunes.

If you're still having problems, please refer to the support of Apple records: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923

    I hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

If please reply back and let us know if this helps solve your problem or if you still need help.

  • How to re - install yosemite after that I installed el capitan on my iMac 2015

My iMac end of 2015 set up El Capitan. I want to reinstall Yosemite for Nikon app how can I do? The restoration of the internet has re - install only El Capitan.

If you have the Installer OS X Yosemite.app file, you can create an installer 8 GB USB thumb drive with her. Then start from it and see If you can first install Yosemite on an external drive. Do not wipe your drive internal. Use an external one to test.

Some Mac 2015 could be able to run of Yosemite. For example, my early 2015 MBP retina came pre-installed with El Capitan, but with a Yosemite USB installer I was able to install Yosemite on it. It seems that you have an end 2015 iMac that maybe isn't able to run of Yosemite.
