cannot leave the homegroup (Windows 8)

I have a Windows 8 for laptop HP Pavilion g6-2230sa Notebook PC and everytime I try to leave the homegroup I get a message saying "Windows could not remove your computer from homegroup."

Can anyone help?

ManikOsiris,

The only option I know is to run the system update.

It is a new feature that will uninstall windows and reinstall without affecting your personal files.

Here is a link to a refreshment.

I would like to know how everything goes

Nice day.

  • Cannot join the homegroup to the second computer in the network.

    I've recently updated my desktop pc and laptop with windows 7.  The office is a s 530 Dell Inspiron and the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15.  The Office has managed to create a homegroup in windows 7, but I can't get the laptop to join.  I ran the wizard of troubleshooting many times without success.  Sharing files between computers is available, I can't just join the homegroup.  I have read several forums about ipv6, and although it shows that IPv6 is enabled, the status shows no network access.  I tried to leave the homegroup, stop and begin another without success as well.  Router is a Belkin N1 Vision 802.11n.  I can follow directions very well, but I'm not a genius with this stuff.  If there is something that I should be more specific, please let me know.  I'm going crazy here.

    OK, that was my answer.  I have connected the laptop in the server and was immediately allowed to join the homegroup.  Once the initial installation has been made, I can now access homegroup wireless on the network without any problems.  I don't know why I had to connect using ethernet to set up.  New bug in the OS, I guess.  Thanks for the help.

    Hi chatimcc,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

    Open a command window. Type outlook.exe /resetnavpane and press the Enter key. Now try to open Outlook.

  • Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

    I tried running Outlook.exe / resetnavpane because I see it worked for a ton of people - but I got the error message "cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.  The command line argument is not valid.  Check the switch you are using.

    This is almost always due to:

    1. you have an older version of Outlook that does not have command line switch.  What version of Outlook you have?
    2. you have not put a space between "Outlook.exe" and "/ resetnavpane.

    There is a SPACE between 'exe' and ' / '. You didn't have that. That's why.

    Please copy and paste it in the search box ot Run box... outlook.exe /resetnavpane

    I'm new to using adobe acrobat, but I saw (once) that in a manual, they have linked an image.

    Just by hovering the mouse on the linked Word, the image appears "over" to the pdf, without leaving the existing window

    Is it still possible? and how?

    Thanks for your help

    Yes, it is, by placing a button with the image and creating another button

    that show/hide the premiera when the mouse input/output there.

    Do you need to do once or in several places?

  • Cannot join or leave the homegroup

    I tried to create a homegroup, so that I can use my laptop in another room via an ethernet cable. I wrote the first password, but when I went to 'continue', he said that it was false. I could not leave or join the network. Now I can't access my printer from my PC or laptop. I tried several times the system recovery, but that did not work. I got a new password of grouphome, but it does not, either. Each time I try to leave the grouphome, he says I have to join first, but does not accept the new password, so that I can't reach. If I am not a member, I can't leave. I can't remove the grouphome, either.

    How can I access my printer again? BTW, I use a mouse, not some

    "creep" of something, I don't know what.

  • Cannot open the initial window of Firefox. (windows7 update)

    When I run Firefox, the hourglass shows seconds, then disappears.
    No window is open. This occurs after an automated update to my
    Windows overnight Tuesday, dec 9. Internet Explorer is obviously OK.
    All other programs OK.

    Have tried - without change:

     restart computer;
     reinitialize modem and wifi home set;
     install new firefox (using "stub" 35.0.5);
     hold shift key down during launch;
     Windows "troubleshoot compatibility" reports "An error occurred while
       troubleshooting".

    After any attempt to start the Task Manager shows there is at least one
    Firefox.exe * 32 process (tab), but no related Application (tab).
    Dialog box 'automatically add' could not open this file...

    Please use malwarebytes as well - in my experiences, it gives the best results (just leave the ability to run a try for the unchecked pro version)...

  • Error message: Windows cannot find the C:\windows\system32\drivers\prdmgr.exe file to start Windows XP.

    Original title: can't end file message system 32 drivers prdmgr.exe.

    Under windows XP when I boot, I get a message: windows cannot find the file: c:\windows\system32\drivers\prdmgr.exe and I already made a ststem restore and still get this message.

    Turn off System Restore. Use ccleaner and then go to tools/startup. Select it and click on delete. Are you sure its not the windows folder drivers? If its in the windows folder, is a worm/trojan. Looks like it belongs to the trojan.agent so sound in the drivers folder

    Use ccleaner, and then click run cleaner. First close the browsers
