  Have you previously used files in Nikon Transfer or other software which does not comes with the camera?

  Try a few new NAVE with the D600 shooting files and import them directly into LR from card reader or the camera.

  Your items is older than your camera.  You can update to PSE14 or use the free DNG Converter to create a DNG leave the naves and the DNG is open in the old Adobe software.   The DNGC is here:

  I bought a Nikon D600 but am unable to read NEF files read with my version of Lightroom 3 that works on an older Mac Book which cannot be upgraded to LR4.  If I buy a new Mac, can I switch to LR4 on the new machine, or I have to buy a new version?  If I can improve how to transfer LR3 for the new machine.  Also, I'm a student of Photoshop CS5 Extended version.  Can I buy an upgrade to CS6 on a new machine?

  The D600 is made sound supported by Lightroom 4.2/camera Rw 7.2 and higher.  Then updgrading 4 Lightroom or Photoshop CS6 will provide full support for the D600. Alternatively, you can download the free 7.2 or later version DNG Converter and use to convert your NEF files to DNG format that is already supported by Lightroom 3.x

  You can spend to Lr4 Lr3 on your old or new machine has no activation code to stop. You'll probbaly prompted for the serial number for Lr3 on the new machine to prove that an upgrade is legitimate. Buy Photoshop CS6 then upgrading the new machine that is also possible, but you need either the DVD for CS5 or have already installed on the new machine. Basically, the CS6 needs to see a copy of CS5 is available for installation or already on the computer.

  Regarding problems with 10.8. They have been addressed.

  -What are you use the most current version of the software downloaded from the website of Nikon?

  Older versions have been known to corrupt Raw images so that the Adobe software can not read them.

  The last Camera Raw for CS5 is 6.7. Only Photoshop CS6 can take 8.7.1.

  You need the DNG Converter to change the Nikon RAW in dmg format in order to open it in CS5.

• PS CC will not open the raw files from my Nikon D600

  My camera is on the supported list... I see others with the same problem here.

  I have the last download PScc, bridge and Nikon Transfer.  I have the latest Camera Raw, 8.3.141 and yet I can't get the nef files load in Camera Raw, I prefer for the work of Pre-ps.

  Try to copy your raw files to your computer with something else than Nikon Transfer (e.g., with a card reader).  I've been hearing things for a while that means this program can make raw unreadable by Adobe Camera Raw files.

• My PS CS6 with camera raw 8.4 does not open files NAVE of Nikon D4s-

  I just upgraded to CS 5.1 to CS6.  The installation went well and everything seems to work as it should.  The Czech Republic was version 7.  I then installed all updates using the check for updates menu.  That went well also and the CR has been updated to version 8.4.0.199 as described in the topic of Plug ins.  He always opens my old nef (Nikon D700) files but it does not open the files of the D4s, suggesting that I'm updating camera raw.  Now, I also downloaded and installed the DNG Converter 8.4 last version.  Who will be show and convert older files from the D700 but not even show the D4s files in the same folder.  I uninstalled CS6 instructions uninstall and then deleted the folder (Plug ins?) since the common/Adobe location by following the instructions and reinstalled.  No improvement has resulted. It's on windows 7 64 bit system with all updates.

  I suggest that you take a picture and download it using the Lightroom import dialog box and see if that makes the difference. Nikon Transfer is one of the culprits.  And even if he has worked for years, something could change. It's worth a try.

  Camera Raw is built into Lightroom and is updated through the program updates.

  The Camera Raw, you have downloaded is a plugin for Photoshop and is not used by Lightroom.

  The D3200 was first supported by camera 7.1 Raw which is only compatible with 11 elements and later. So you will never be able to open files of the D3200 Raw 8-cell.

  You have two options:

  1. Upgrade to 14 elements (current version), or
  2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert files in batches of the D3200 DNG format raw files, then change the DNG files in Elements 8. A step further for you, but not extra extra cost.

  I use the latest DNG converter 8.7.1.311 but when I browse the source of camera raw files folder that they are not recognized.

  So really, you want or need to convert to DNG using the converter, you choose file in the DNG Converter, but you double-click it. The DNG Converter works at the file level. If you open the file, it will tell you, there is no file to be converted.

  In the import dialog box, make sure that the destination Panel is developed and the file that you are importing into is listed at the top of the file path to right.

  The record should also have read & write permissions. Press Cmd + i to display the information dialog box, and click the lock icon if the permissions should change.
