cannot locate the file to install silverlight, windows 7 64 bit, c:\6f4c8317905ddd8e80bc5f1b238f5ea2\

Every time it says I need to update however windows update fails, silverlight site stand alone fails to Setup. Say Windows cannot locate the file, or can't access the Setup program. I've tried everything I know including UN-installing and cannot locate the file.

Hi Dstek,

This could be due to installation damaged the existing version of Silverlight on the computer. So, must uninstall completely from the computer and then try to reinstall.

I suggest you refer to the Microsoft KB Article below, try the troubleshooting steps in it and see if that solves the problem.

At first when I noticed that my hard drive was full that I followed the tips shown on the wire "A NO DISK SPACE" by Rajesh S.  After doing all that I gained about 1 GB of space back.  I'm on Internet Explorer, ventured to a few sites, remove the brower and closed browser history.  Check how much space was left and the 1 GB has been reduced to 125MB.  Angry, I compressed my C:.  That's when I noticed several files (.swf, .htm, .mp4, .flv, and .png) that should have been deleted, but were not.  After the decompression the C: understood under what his screenname located.

  • Missing files and cannot locate the files?

I am just a beginner so please be gentle with me.

I have been coming to grips with this excellent program and have my RAW recorded on an external hard drive images. (PC with W ) indows 10, current version of LR CC). Everything went very well, except that the overnight something happened and I am at a loss.

Earlier I started LR CC one nd was met with "Missing Photo" in the library, and "the folder cannot be found" to develop. I checked the hard drive and everything is right where I left and I have had no warning on closing program.

Nothing has changed about places, I mp o rts or anything else.

    Suggestions please?

Under Windows, the most troubling problem with external drives is that the drive letters tend to change at any time. And Lightroom expect those to stay constant (sic). But if you work on a laptop AND a desktop computer, have a mobile disk is the best solution to go.

I attribute my external hard drive, a drive letter that is high enough so that Windows does not allocate it to a stick USB memory or disk of some external one that got connected before. Very 'bad' are these '11 in one' card readers. They tend to allocate a bunch of both drive letters.

There is also a possibility to join a drive to a path in your current as directory tree:

    ...------name\My Documents\My Pictures\Photos.

in this case, Photos must be an empty directory. The disc then works as an extension to this path. Instead of Y:\... you have access to your data at Photos\...

  • Cannot locate the files after 'Move' Lightroom 4.1

During the import specifically 'Moving' a selection of photos of a place on the drive internal to another location on the internal disk, after that I scored the photos with keywords, Lightroom crashed.

Now when I go to the previous import pictures are not found. Don't have files to the location to make me move. When I do a search for images with the keywords that I have these images with the tag, I can't locate. I don't see them in the trash either.

Now, I don't know where are these images. It's very bad. I think I'll use the Finder to move the images first, then "Add" in Lightroom afterwards. It's a good thing I paid attention when I did the import.

    Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    Peter,

FWIW, I wouldn't trust function Move Lr for anything other than a few tens of files in the same drive. If I need to move files from one disk to another, I will always use Finder because the originals are not deleted when a standard shift is done, but moves in Lr means that the originals are removed when the move is completed. The problem with this is that you are blind to what actually happened. If a problem, it is usually too late to do something.

  • Windows error message "cannot find the file K:\$MFT or K:\System Volume Information.

Original title: Windows Error Message.  Cannot locate the file K:\$MFT

Periodically, I get an error message stating that Windows cannot locate the file K:\$MFT or K:\System Volume Information.   In this case my computer loses contact with K (my backup drive).  The only way I can get the command back up and running is to shut it down, restart windows and then reconnect the drive.  I have absolutely no idea where, why, or what this message is not irritating and a nuisance.  How can I stop this?

My problem is back and I guess that I does not after all.  It was suggested that more info on my system could help find answers.  I am running Windows XP. SP3.  My HD is 500 GB.  Intel Core 2 CPU.  6600 GHZ, 3 GB of Ram.

In addition the cannot locate the message file, it sometimes indicates that a "delayed write failed" and I should save the K:\$MFT file also.

As far as I can tell, I have solved my problem.  Windows 'Restore' was trying to save my disk backup for future use, and I think it's whence came the message.  I changed the settings to restore now ignores my backup disk and the problem has not happened since.  I hope it's the end of it.

  • ITunes cannot locate the music for a specific artist

All my music does not appear on my computer and my itunes, except one of my artists. Their albums/songs appear in itunes, but they may not be located on my computer. It is the music of a single artist and two albums. It allows me to play the songs on my ipod, iphone and ipad, but when I try to play music on my computer, it displays an exclamation point and the custom find or play. What should I do?

The exclamation point means that it cannot locate the files in the iTunes Media folder.

Looking for a specific file in Spotlight. Since you know what an artist is missing, search for this artist, album or song using Spotlight. If it's on your computer, projector find. All the music files in iTunes should be in the music folder. Open the Finder, click go > go to folder and paste the following text:

    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music

Or, if you think it has been moved out of the folder of music, just look in the iTunes Media folder. It could have been placed in the right folder

    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media

If you have a backup with Time Machine, you can also enter Time Machine and restore the file (assuming that she has been saved before he disappeared).
