  Seriously Teddy5555, this isn't a problem with Lightroom.  If PhotoShop is not installed on your computer, then you cannot directly photos to edit in PhotoShop, nor can you merge to Panorama in PhotoShop.  If it is not installed, you must install it to make it work.

  6 LR and LR CC 2015 have the ability to merge with a Panorama in LR itself as shown below, but I don't remember if it was available in LR 5.

  Hello, I use Lightroom version 5.7.1 on an iMac with OS X (version 10.10 [5]) and, until recently, if I chose the Photo - Edit open inside my request of Photoshop on my boot drive.  Now, although it uses by default trying to open the backup copy of Photoshop on my external backup drive, which is a clone of the hard drive of my iMac, and if I choose "merge to Panorama in Photoshop" (which I need to do often enough) it freezes and gives the following error:

  

  I can see that it tries to open the cloned version of Photoshop (on iMac Anna/backup/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6) but I can't find any way to change this so that it can reuse the version on my boot drive.  I'm sure there must be a file somewhere that staged Lightroom to try to open Photoshop on the external hard drive, but I don't know where it could be.

  If I have already opened the version of Photoshop on my startup disk before trying to merge with Panorama, it will use that one.  If I remove the external hard drive containing the cloned version of Photoshop, I just get an error that says that the files could not be changed because Photoshop CS6 could not be launched.

  I tried to delete the file [file username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Photoshop.plist, then by restarting Lightroom, but it did not help.]  I also tried to change the external editor in Lightroom preferences - preferences: I can create an additional external editor and have pointing to Photoshop on my boot drive, but this has no effect when you try to merge with Panorama and I see no way to change the settings to 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS6' at the top of the box as shown below :

  

  If anyone has a solution to this, I would be really grateful.  Thanks in advance.

  After posting this question I've been tracking the answer me - it seems that there is a bug in Lightroom that Adobe know since at least January 2015.  As far as I know, it has not been resolved in the latest version of Lightroom, but they wrote a plugin that works around the problem.  I have downloaded and run and it works, so I thought I would like to include the link to the page in case someone else has the same problem:

  Ignore the first suggestion about uninstalling Lightroom and Photoshop and scroll down the page until you find the official response from Jeffrey Tranberry - there is a link to download a plugin it and once you installed you will be able to specify the location of Photoshop.   With a bit of luck will be solved properly in a future version of Lightroom.

• I have LR5 and CS3 on Win7. Merge to Panorama worked perfectly until I had a crash.

  I rebooted both now "merge to Panorama in Photoshop' so that 'Open as Smart Object in Photoshop', 'merge to HDR in Photoshop' and 'Open as layers in Photoshop' are all greyed out. "Editing in another Application" and "Edit in Photoshop CS3" are good and work very well. Still, Photoshop doesn't views ok on his own, just no longer in conjunction with LR. I rebooted LR5 and CS3 again, haven't installed update - no change. Any help would be appreciated.

  Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled both requests, and I work with original images. I probably have about two dozen panoramas before the crash.

  Try resetting the PS preferences

  • To restore preferences quickly by using a keyboard shortcut: press and hold Alt + Ctrl + Shift (Windows) or Option + command + shift (Mac OS) when you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. New preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.

  The Photomerge option is available in 6 of Lightroom, and not in Lightroom 5.

• Cannot merge BC account or publish directly from Adobe Muse

  I have Adobe Muse and I am trying to load my Web sites on my site of catalyst for business, but what I will meet some snags.

  (1) I can't publish my site British Colombia of Muse without having to completely disconnect my Adobe ID if I don't sign I get an unknown error message.

  (2) when I get my site online, I try to log in to add a domain, and I get this error: this username Adobe email is already registered with Business Catalyst and cannot be merged with another Business Catalyst account.

  I pay for the composition of the creative cloud over the 2 or 3 years and I have never had this problem until now. Last year, I've changed the main e-mail address [email protected] to [email protected] because the former was a school which is no longer active email address. My Adobe ID works very well with the creative cloud. The only problems are the characteristics of BC.

  Also, I get this message when I try to go through the administration for each site before page I get an error:

  When I try to connect to BusinessCatalyst with my adobe ID (which has the same email as my catalyst business address)

• Merge hdr/panorama in Lightroom photoshop functions are broken, everything is installed via the CC Office and updated

  I installed everything through the formal process of creative cloud and this function does not work for me. Not hdr or panorama merging! It worked perfectly in older versions.

  I recently received an upgrade to CC PS to PS CC2014. After the upgrade I notice now Option in Lightroom to edit in PS and merge with a Panorama 5.5 isn't so more work.

  When used, PS program starts, but no con tunes with the script to load existing files and merge them into a panorama image.

  PS CC 2014 uses another script? as seems to be failing.

  If anyone else has had this problem, is there a fix coming?

  I found reinstall Photoshop CC 2014 fixed and remove all preferences does the job for me.

• Cannot merge data files in a spreadsheet on secure document

  I created a form in Acrobat X Pro. The form was guaranteed first with a password to restrict editing, allowing just Fill-in form fields. Then save file by activating features enabled and save the file. Everything works Ok: cannot change the shape and allows me to record, but when I use merge data files into spreadsheet to export data, the exported CSV file is empty. Cannot export data. So I tried to remove the protection by password but received the following message:

  The next time you add security, select the option 'Enable copying of text, images and other content' If you want to be able to export the form data.

  As is the case, you should be able to "file > save a copy" and then remove the security.

• Merge to Panorama, HDR Pro and open as layers fail in 2014 CC

  I had this problem for months.
  There was 2 updates of CC 2014 and remains still the question.

  I uninstalled all versions of Photoshop and Lightroom and re-installed 2014 CC and LR. Still the problem remains.

  I read in other posts on this forum, that the problem has been resolved and that the updated version now works correctly. This is not true for me.

  
  I can't use Merge Pano, HDR, or open as layers regardless of if I try to go in Photoshop or Lightroom.
  All dialog boxes to open images behave correctly: in PS, dialog boxes take me through the opening of files and allow me to select them and then click OK. But then the dialog window closes and nothing happens.
  It is the same from Lightroom; I get a warning about the Camera Raw plugin (which is 8.0.0.) but then it opens the window of dialogue of fusion and gives me the appropriate options and after I click OK, the dialog window closes and nothing happens.
  To be perfectly clear, when I say 'nothing happens, I don't mean NOTHING.' The program doesn't lock, no file opened, no error, nothing... I can look at my counters and they still tremble.

  So, what's next?

  I try like to perform a merge, using the subversion 11gPS1 JDeveloper extension, but it ends with an exception:

  Other actions of subversion can be performed without problems. And I can do the merge of turtle without problem.

  Aino,

  There is a problem experienced with JDeveloper/SVN integration if you are using basic HTTP authentication - you can have a search on the forum for a reference (try author = sduncan). It will be supposed to be fixed in a future version, but the workaround is to use digest on your SVN server instead of basic authentication.
