  • In Lightroom 5, choose "Merge to Panorama in Photoshop" open PS in the wrong place

Hello, I use Lightroom version 5.7.1 on an iMac with OS X (version 10.10 [5]) and, until recently, if I chose the Photo - Edit open inside my request of Photoshop on my boot drive.  Now, although it uses by default trying to open the backup copy of Photoshop on my external backup drive, which is a clone of the hard drive of my iMac, and if I choose "merge to Panorama in Photoshop" (which I need to do often enough) it freezes and gives the following error:

    Screen Shot 2016-03-30 at 11.48.49.png

I can see that it tries to open the cloned version of Photoshop (on iMac Anna/backup/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6) but I can't find any way to change this so that it can reuse the version on my boot drive.  I'm sure there must be a file somewhere that staged Lightroom to try to open Photoshop on the external hard drive, but I don't know where it could be.

If I have already opened the version of Photoshop on my startup disk before trying to merge with Panorama, it will use that one.  If I remove the external hard drive containing the cloned version of Photoshop, I just get an error that says that the files could not be changed because Photoshop CS6 could not be launched.

I tried to delete the file [file username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Photoshop.plist, then by restarting Lightroom, but it did not help.]  I also tried to change the external editor in Lightroom preferences - preferences: I can create an additional external editor and have pointing to Photoshop on my boot drive, but this has no effect when you try to merge with Panorama and I see no way to change the settings to 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS6' at the top of the box as shown below :

If anyone has a solution to this, I would be really grateful.  Thanks in advance.

After posting this question I've been tracking the answer me - it seems that there is a bug in Lightroom that Adobe know since at least January 2015.  As far as I know, it has not been resolved in the latest version of Lightroom, but they wrote a plugin that works around the problem.  I have downloaded and run and it works, so I thought I would like to include the link to the page in case someone else has the same problem:

Lightroom: "Edit in PS 2014" opens PS 2014 in the wrong place. Community customer Photoshop family

Ignore the first suggestion about uninstalling Lightroom and Photoshop and scroll down the page until you find the official response from Jeffrey Tranberry - there is a link to download a plugin it and once you installed you will be able to specify the location of Photoshop.   With a bit of luck will be solved properly in a future version of Lightroom.

  • Hi I have Lightroom 5.7.1 and try to make the panorama.  Photo/Edit in watch upward but somehow "Merge to Panorama in Photoshop" is grayed out.  How can I make it work?  How can I make panorama to 5.7.1?

Hi I have Lightroom 5.7.1 and try to make the panorama.  Photo/Edit in watch upward but somehow "Merge to Panorama in Photoshop" is grayed out.  How can I make it work?  How can I make panorama to 5.7.1?  Can anyone help?

Seriously Teddy5555, this isn't a problem with Lightroom.  If PhotoShop is not installed on your computer, then you cannot directly photos to edit in PhotoShop, nor can you merge to Panorama in PhotoShop.  If it is not installed, you must install it to make it work.

6 LR and LR CC 2015 have the ability to merge with a Panorama in LR itself as shown below, but I don't remember if it was available in LR 5.

    Hi santanu_rudra,

The Photomerge option is available in 6 of Lightroom, and not in Lightroom 5.

  • Strips of sky dark panorama fusion Lightroom

In most of my panoramas of Lightroom merged, I get bands of darker sky colored on the seams of the merger. I guess that this is because the vignetting of my lens? How can I correct/preventing this problem? Thank you

    P4071553-Pano-2.jpeg

I suggest that you do not use the polarizer.  The amount of polarization (darkening) of the sky changes as you change the angle of the camera of the Sun.

In addition to manual exposure, you must also use the manual focus to prevent the camera focus for each shot.

Finally, I suggest you use optical correction on each ball in Lightroom before gathering in a pano to remove the vignetting.

  • Photoshop CS6 does not generate a panorama on lightroom

When I select a bunch of photos in Lightroom 6 and select starts it Lightroom "Merge to panorama in Photoshop" option does the ordinary thing and preparing an export. Photoshop wonder how to merge (type of Pan) and after that... Nothing! Nothing happens in photoshop (Nothing in Lightroom)
This function is always use to work like a charm, but all of a sudden, nothing...

Lightroom still whining about an update of the plugin cameraRaw (who does not appear in the adobe Update Manager).

    So, I'm lost...

With a deadline breathing down my neck, I installed the trial version Photoshop CC and that works very well, but... I don't want to spend a monthly fee for 2 programs that I bought as standalone and are perfectly fine to use.

So I fixed it for now, but after 30 days expires the trial and I have no idea why photoshop behaves like that.

Before this problem (last Friday) Photoshop started having problems with the photo full-size (also panoramic) and as a last resort, I reinstalled photoshop. Hoping that it was just a bug... But he seems to have created problems more (or more).

Does anyone have an idea how to fix photoshop (apart from buying a monthly package from adobe)

I'm working on Windows (Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 6) 10

    Thank you!

  • Cannot merge to panorama

Merge to a Panorama no longer works in CS4.

I have reinstalled CS4 without result and uses the last LR 3.6. Operating system is Windows 7.

All work upward until I get to the window of fusion in CS4 where I can choose all the options and then click the 'OK' button and nothing happens.

    Anyone has any ideas please?

    Problem solved.

CS4 does not recognize a D7000 Nikon RAW images.

Expensive solution would be to upgrade to CS5

Cheap solution is to convert the RAW files to DNG in Lightroom and can then merge to panorama. Thanks for your help Support Adobe.

  • I have LR5 and CS3 on Win7. Merge to Panorama worked perfectly until I had a crash.

I rebooted both now "merge to Panorama in Photoshop' so that 'Open as Smart Object in Photoshop', 'merge to HDR in Photoshop' and 'Open as layers in Photoshop' are all greyed out. "Editing in another Application" and "Edit in Photoshop CS3" are good and work very well. Still, Photoshop doesn't views ok on his own, just no longer in conjunction with LR. I rebooted LR5 and CS3 again, haven't installed update - no change. Any help would be appreciated.

    J.R.S.

Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled both requests, and I work with original images. I probably have about two dozen panoramas before the crash.

    Thank you, JRS

  • Limitations of size for Panorama in Lightroom CC

This note is to encourage Adobe to expand the limits of size of the panoramas of Lightroom CC.  I understand that this limit is a maximum length of 65 000 pixels or a maximum number of pixels to 512 million pixels.  Such a limit does not get wide angle with long focal length objectives to get extremely high resolution panoramas.  For example, a 100 mm lens on a sensor 24 x 36 mm is turned to vertical orientation (24mm width) requires about (ideally) 26 frames to make a panorama 360 degrees.  If you use a device 50 megapixels (e.g. Canon 5 d), this image will be approximately 150 000 pixels wide or nearly three times the current limit.  There are also approximately 1300 megapixels, even once about three times the current limit.  This means that a Canon 5 d can be used to make even a panorama of 180 degrees, with a goal of 100mm in the vertical direction.  Creation of panorama in Lightroom CC is fantastic because it is easy and results in a RAW image.  But the current size limit is a real constraint.  Thank you for your attention.

  • Link to Lightroom for merger PS Panorama does not not with upgrading Photoshop CC 2014

I recently received an upgrade to CC PS to PS CC2014. After the upgrade I notice now Option in Lightroom to edit in PS and merge with a Panorama 5.5 isn't so more work.

When used, PS program starts, but no con tunes with the script to load existing files and merge them into a panorama image.

PS CC 2014 uses another script? as seems to be failing.

If anyone else has had this problem, is there a fix coming?

I found reinstall Photoshop CC 2014 fixed and remove all preferences does the job for me.

  • Panoramas from Lightroom 6 eventually small

    Hello

I use LR6 2015.5.1 and experienced the strange problems when merging files .dng in a panorama.

Lightroom assembles photos perfectly, but the file becomes "minimal". For example, I tried to steal three D810 7360 x 4912 files. The size of the panorama of output is only 6703 x 4134? For example, on 27Megapixels. A single file D810 is 36.2 million pixels... Why it becomes so much smaller?

I never realize, that I had the same problems with my Canon 7DII. Then I tried to stitch the four files (5472 x 3648) and the panorama ends up being 8450 x 3339? 28 million pixels.

Lightroom is not able assemble panoramas that are larger than the 27 and 28 million pixels?

    Any solution? Suggestions?

The low height (i.e. 4912-> 4134) is due to harvesting and that seems ok.

How the images overlap? You must take your calculation as, once again, culture.

    another thread/post:

The panorama of 36 images D700 was 246.8 million pixels and the DNG file is 863 MB.  This panorama ran for several hours before it ended.  The panorama of 6 files D810 was a 154.8 million pixels and the DNG file is 276 MB.

  • Straighten the horizon in panoramas? Lightroom to Photoshop CC

I use photoshop to assemble 40 photos of the grand canyon I want to combine into a larger panorama.

The photos are in Lightroom (the 5 d mk ii Canon Raw files). I highlight and select the merge as a panorama in photoshop option.

I chose to combine perspective (the first option).

Once photos combined (a process that takes about 15 minutes), the horizon is very, very curved and highly distorted, as if the photo was taken with a fish-eye lens (every image is photographed at 70mm).

What is the best way to straighten the horizon and remove distortion to enlarge the natural photo?

Finally, I want to keep the info THOUGHT that I can edit the photo to its full potential in lightroom, but photoshop only lets me export the panorama as tiff or jpeg. What is the best way to keep as much information as possible in this scenario?

Thank you all for your help.

I don't create panoramas using images a lot. But I found the filter Adaptive wide-angle useful to straighten curved lines.

You can keep everything in raw once it has been opened in Photoshop. Photoshop cannot change the raw image data and cannot save raw images. That's why Lightroom or Camera Raw are necessary. At the time wherever the images are open in Photoshop, they are more raw. This is why they must be stored in a different file format.

  • Panorama of Lightroom 6.6.1 fusion only 2 photos

I used the panorama function, since it became available on my machine W10, but since installing Lightroom 6.6.1 he sews only 2 pictures together.  This is regardless of the selected number.

Do not know what has changed, but I have sewn successfully more than 10 pictures on many occasions.

Any suggestions on how to solve my problem?

    Graeme

I tried with a number of different potential panoramas and the problem seems to be that LR does not error messages, but generates a small panorama using some images when the images are difficult to align.

  • Panorama in Lightroom - Panorama not behind the selected photos

Hello, I have just a question on the Panorama function.

Two days ago, I create panorama and it works very well. The Panorama has been created and directly behind the pictures I chose for the Panorama.

Now, the Panorama is at the wide end of all images.

Is there a possibility in Lightroom to restore it, so that it works like before?

    Thanks for the help.
