  • Cannot modify the properties file or Tags on .wav files

Recently, I noticed that you cannot change the property information or the tag of the file on file .wav audio as you can do it on other types of audio.  Either using the file explore. change the properties or advanced in WMP11 tag editor, all the fields are grayed and shelter directly editing.  This is not the case for all other types of audio files, I tried.

Curiously, the fields are editable by WMP if you can manually find Album Info or just edit the individual fields directly in the screen of the library.  Unfortunately, it is not acceptable, because it means that you can not change at the same time, more than a single field in a single file and then only if this field is represented as a column in the WMP library.

It seems very strange to me; This seems to be a limitation in Windows itself, since even the file Explorer will not let update you the file properties (for example, title, subject, author, comments, etc.).  I really need to save as the original .wav files so they can be changed later (and not lose the content of compression), but I have no way to correctly annotate files!  Does anyone know of a way around this?  Thanx

    Hello V7Goose,

I think you'll have to come back to apply 3rd party to do what you are looking for.  Otherwise, it will take forever to tag your music one by one.  There are some that you can make a search that may be free.  I just found this one, I don't know if it of good or not, I wanted to give you an idea of what is out there.

  • Cannot delete the old folder separate disk windows

I had a system OS 3 for a while, Vista, Win7 RC and Win7 Pro.

Win7 RC is pleased and I want to delete records from his drive to free up space.

I took possession of the folder (including subfolders) windows and my account is an administrator with full control account, BUT when I try to delete the old directory of windows first it says I need give permission, I click on continue, she goes through the files, and then a box indicates that I need permission from account owner Joan to continue.

I'm logged into this account. This account is me, but when I click on continue, it says access denied.

It's the same with the old directory program files.

I can't delete, or the old directory of users.

None of them is used. All are owned by mey account (there are only two accounts put in place on my PC and mine's administrator.)

I am running windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed on my E drive.

The files that I want to delete are on the c drive.

How this computer to recognize that my admin account has full right, remove the obsolete operating system?

    Thank you

Can archaeologist, you access the OS Win 7 RC?

If so, use it "Folder Options" in the control panel.

To all the "hidden files" readable.

You say that you are the administrator, you should be able to do.

You also try to remove Vista, as well?

    Do the same with this.

Why you be "denied access" is... because these system files 'hidden '.

Once this has been done, you can now in Win 7 (the one you want to keep!).

In administrative tools, select 'Create and format hard disk partitions.

Right click on the BLUE bar, drive hard 'in question.

This will give you... .with a drop-down window, containing...

    Opened.

    Explore

    Mark the Partition as "Active".

    Change drive letter and paths.

FORMAT!             -(Third, make just... use this format.)

Extend Volume... (This will be the second to be used, if the button remove one has not already removed those'hidden Files/Folders!)

    Reduce the Volume...

You cannot extract a whole program from the Windows.old folder, it is used to recover individual files.

You must reinstall the antivirus from the original media. Most AV programs can be downloaded from the Web

Consider installing Microsoft's Security Essentials Antivirus program. It is clean, simple and free.

  • Cannot change the properties of 'read only' files in xp

Recently, I was not able to change the properties of 'read only' to my files. I click on 'Properties', uncheck the 'read only', press on apply, click OK. When I re - check the records they come up to 'read only' again. I can't find a way around it. It has stopped me to back up files, since I get the message that the files are 'read only' and cannot be changed.
    All solutions?
    Thank you

The read-only attribute has never been applicable to files under XP. You can try to take ownership of files/folders instead.

  • Unable to make an accessible folder writable in Windows Vista

I'm working on an Aspire 3690 laptop with Windows Vista Home Basic Service Pack 2. I installed EasyPHP - 5.3.3 to operate as WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP). And extracted CakePHP 1.3.3 in the root of the document that is located in c:\program files\easyphp-5.3.3\www\cakeblog\. The app\tmp folder and its subfolders have an attribute 'read only' and I want to remove this so that I can make records in writing.

The first thing I tried was to change the attribute of Windows Explorer. But whenever I make changes here changes don't stick.

The second thing I tried was to change the attribute of the command line. C:\Program files\easyphp-5.3.3\www\cakephp\app I tried the following: attrib - r + s tmp. After which, I confirmed the changes as follows: attrib tmp. And it returns the path of the folder and S as an attribute. "I have reload the application on my browser and still get the ' folder not accessible error in writing". When I open Windows Explorer there always the 'read only' attribute, and the command-line, there of the ' attribute. I also tried the following variations (which seem to all work on the command line, but the changes reflect ever on the browser or Windows Explorer):

    1. > attrib - r + s tmp
    2. > attrib - r tmp
    3. > attrib - r s tmp
    4. and all the open air with the following options added at the end: / s and / d
The result is always the same: app browser continues to consider not accessible files writable; Explorer Windows always considers not accessible files writable; and a control on the command line doesn't show any attribute of R.
I tried everything above on an elevated command line. Did not work.
I tried all the above after going in the Security tab of the folder properties and gave myself a total control over the records of said. I tried again to the user and the administrator. Did not work.
The last thing I tried was to climb to the next level and try to change these attributes thinking it's maybe a legacy issue. Nothing works.

When you open the tab automatic updates in the control panel or My Computer property sheet, all options of configuration of the automatic updates may be grayed out. This happens due to one of the following reasons:

    1. You are not logged as administrator (or equivalent)
    2. Strategy of automatic updates is enabled
    3. Automatic updates (and Windows Update) access is blocked by group policy

You must make some changes in the windows registry.

Important: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • cannot install update security for Windows XP (KB2686509)

cannot install update security for Windows XP (KB2686509)

    Hello, gsfl Jg,

Open Windows Update and check if KB2686509 and KB2676562 are or are not installed.

When you tried to install the update, you would have received an error code.  Please return this zip code which lies in Windows Update.

Why this update is offered again several times?

Windows updates are revived until the update is installed on your computer. If this update is already, perhaps an installation failure has occurred. Check log files to install KB for the error codes. For example, the log file of installation KB for this security update would probably "C:\Windows\ KB2686509.log"
For more information about how to resolve these problems, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

958051 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958051/) you receive a "0x8007F0F4" error code when you try to install the updates on the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site

What should I do if the installation of this update fails with the error "0x8007F0F4"?

If you receive the "0x8007F0F4" error when you try to install this security update, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Faultykeyboard.log file that is located in the folder %windir%. This log file contains information about the registered keyboard layout files that are not in the folder % Windir%\System32. The log file will resemble the following:

      Keyboard1.dll.\Layoutfiles\keyboard2.dll C:\Windows\System\Kbda1.dll

Note In this example, the first entry is just a file name. The second entry includes a relative path with the name of the file. The third category includes a full path of the file.

    2. Copy the files that are listed in the Faultykeyboard.log log file in the System32 folder.

Note Contact Microsoft technical support if you can't find the Faultykeyboard.log file.

    Hello

Try the methods provided below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Files can be hidden you can try the steps that he provided below and try to view the files.

    (a) of the screen click Start, then Control Panel, then clicking on tools in the Menu bar by clicking Folder Options

    (b) click on the view tab and check the box "show the hidden files and folders" and press OK.

    (c) now you can see all the files and folders hidden on your computer. You can do a right click on the hidden folder and uncheck the hidden box and apply the changes to display it.

    Method 2:

    Hi Holger-TLS,

If you close the program, but the file is not yet clear, restart your computer. You can view all programs currently running on your computer in the Task Manager.

    Try this:
    1. press Ctrl + Alt + Del
    2. Select the Task Manager
    3. check if word.exe runs in the process
    4. If it is running, end it.

  • Windows activation error: the product key you entered cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer.

    Activate Windows 7

I would like to ask questions about how can activate my correct windows, I tried to activate it but he said to me (the product key you entered cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer) I don't know what I have to do?

    Windows product ID: 00426-068-2964761-86079

Recently, there have been a rash of product keys for Windows 7 purchased from auction sites appear here as not authentic.  They appear to be related to this HROnline HrOnline code: 0xC004C4A2. If you have purchased a key of a web site selling auctions (like eBay), please understand that the seller would have sold this product to several people key, causing the key more on the blacklist. These keys were never intended for resale; they were intended for the software development or assessment depending on the program that they were obtained through. If you have purchased one of these keys and it became not genuine with the above code, you must purchase a new license for windows 7. Try to validate by going to www.microsoft.com/geniune and follow the links provided to repair windows.

Added note. You have only a limited amount of time (45 days I think) filing a claim with the auction sites. Stay away from these keys, if you purchased a key that has turned non-genuine and are within 45 days of purchase file a claim. There are publishers of legitimate software on auction sites, but if it sounds too good to be true then don't buy it.

    Things to watch for.

Recently reported several cases of blocked MSDN subscription product keys packed with legitimate research media. I can not stress enough to save your packaging, media and reception, if you buy software such as this to appeal to the Bank, you bought it and report it to www.microsoft.com/piracy.

If you purchased a product key, with or without DVD or packaging of a sale auction web site (e.g. eBay) or any other person or seller and this could be a product key MSDN Subscritpion because your key has been blocked, you can check a few things.  If you have received your key with the physical product go to www.microsoft.com/howtotell and check your product.  However, some counterfeit software is if convince you may not be able to identify it as such.

To check your PID the Win Key Press and have a break at the same time or open system properties in Control Panel, scroll to the activation section and look at the PID.  It will look something like this: 1234567-12345-067-54321.  The part that you are interested in is the section to three figures.  If it matches or is in one or two digits from the examples below, you probably have a "non-destinee for resale" MSDN subscription product key

Suspect: 065, 066, 067 068 for Windows 7 Ultimate edition, 220 area for the professional and the 230, 231 area for Home Premium.  There are probably others, but they should be close to those posted.
