• Cannot open more than 1 folder in Windows 7

  Hello! Running win 7 ultimate.

  I'm unable to open other windows of records once 1 is open. I cannot use that explore and must use the navigation pane to open the other files. Its very annoying that I can't open multiple folders! The funny thing is it works for a short period of time, just after I reboot, but the stops working there after. Someone has an idea, what happens? So frustrating!

• Downloads of Firefox 4.01 files but windows gray downloads on the 'open' and 'Open containing folder' options and I cannot trace files

  Three days ago, that I've upgraded to Firefox 4.01. I downloaded several files that were ok. Yesterday and today I downloaded a powerpoint file and a file *.dmg to apple.

  On the download window these two files, I can see with the total mb in size. However when I right click in the list of files in the download of the "Open" window and "Open containing folder" options are grayed out. What more I can't find these files anywhere on my computer when I use Windows Explorer to search for.

  If these entries are grayed out, then it means that the files are no longer in the original download location. If you don't remove them then anti-virus software or cleaning may have deleted their.

  This is much like a directory corrupted on your hard drive.  If you have not yet tried, check for errors on your hard disks with a 'chkdsk/f'  Your external readers should check interactively.  Your system startup disk will require a reboot of the system and will be checked offline.  This is a normal maintenance procedure and should be performed periodically.  Note: Large capacity disks can take hours to check.

I downloaded new fonts to use on photoshop, and when I try to copy and paste them into the folder of fonts as I used to do, I can not simply open any folder once I open the c: drive. I then click on the check online for a solution and restart the program, and then try again, same problem.  I am a designer of Web site using different fonts is so important to me so can you tell me how to solve my problem or another way to install my new fonts.   I don't think it's just a matter to install fonts, your system has damaged files, as found by the System File Checker, and you are unable to open the folders on your hard drive.  This will cause you problems more and could get progressively worse over time.  It should be fixed.  Is what kind of computer?  It is possible that there the recovery on the hard drive partition - most of the manufacturers not providing the operating system on DVD, put it on a special partition on the hard disk where you can either run recovery off the hard drive or make a backup of the operating system, depending on the configuration they it upward.  Here's how to know if you have installed on your hard drive recovery partition.  If you have not previously installed on your computer, it would be wise to buy it.  Or you can upgrade to Windows 7 Relase Candidate 1 for free, however, this is a pre-release version so not recommended for your computer, especially if used for business.  You can see Windows 7 here: http://windows.microsoft.com/

  If the Startup Repair tool is an option of recovering preinstalled on your computer:
  1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
  Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

  2. hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

  3. in the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select repair your computer and press ENTER. (If repair your computer is not listed as an option, then your computer does not repair the startup as a preinstalled recovery option)

• Cannot open .pdfs in Firefox

  My wife machine is running Windows 8.1, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard. Cannot open .pdfs in the browser. Clicking on a link to a .pdf file will open a new tab which will close immediately, leaving me right back where I was, as if I had never clicked the link. I can right click and then save money, download the file and open it in Adobe Acrobat X. But this is not what I want, and not the way it was designed.

  Internet Explorer 11 open .pdfs in the environment described above, in the browser, with no problems.

  I followed all instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972278 and http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/cant-view-pdf-web.html. Instructions for Mozilla or Adobe can get operational.

  As a nuclear option, I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat, rebooted the machine, uninstalled Firefox, restarted the machine, re-installed Adobe Acrobat, rebooted the machine and re-installed Firefox and rebooted the machine. Attempt for opening yields .pdf to the same result, even after uninstalling and reinstalling everything. What happens here? Why Firefox opens a blank tab and then close it immediately? Block jump - rises is set to off, and blocking the windows blocker disabled.

  My own computer that is running Windows 7, Firefox 34.0.5 and Adobe Acrobat X Standard opens .pdfs in browser very well, without any problems.

  Any advice? I'm pulling my hair out! Thanks for your time.

  Try the following:

  • Go to setting (3 bars) > options > applications.
  • Under the applications Panel.
  • Find Portable Document Format (PDF) from the list and click on it to select it.
  • Click the drop-down arrow in the Action column for the above entry and select the name of use (in Firefox) PDF reader or preview in firefox.

  If the PDF files are always downloaded instead of poster, try these solutions
  Reset download actions

  • Open your profile folder:

  Click the menu button

  

  click Help

  

  and select troubleshooting information. The troubleshooting information tab will open.

  In the section the Application databases, click view folder. It will open a window with your profile files.

  Click the menu button

  

  then click on leave

  

  Delete the mimetypes.rdf file.

  Then open firefox again and see.
