Downloads of Firefox 4.01 files but windows gray downloads on the 'open' and 'Open containing folder' options and I cannot trace files
Three days ago, that I've upgraded to Firefox 4.01. I downloaded several files that were ok. Yesterday and today I downloaded a powerpoint file and a file *.dmg to apple.
On the download window these two files, I can see with the total mb in size. However when I right click in the list of files in the download of the "Open" window and "Open containing folder" options are grayed out. What more I can't find these files anywhere on my computer when I use Windows Explorer to search for.
It seems that this happened after I tried to download a Firefox Add the of http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/addons/64761/amazonassist-0.7.2.6-fx.xpi and my antivirus picked up the horse of Trojan JS/Kryptik.AK and put an end to the connection. Is there a link with the problem that I am facing?
I use Windows 7 Professional, Firefox 4.01
If these entries are grayed out, then it means that the files are no longer in the original download location. If you don't remove them then anti-virus software or cleaning may have deleted their.

When I try to open Firefox, I get this message:
"Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window. »
I then clicked close firefox, but the problem was solved not so I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but it's the same thing.
At this point, I went to support Mozilla and tried the steps described in the article, "Firefox is already running but is not responsible for - How to fix error message", but the firefox.exe process was not in the processes tab in windows Task Manager. While he was in the Details tab, when I tried to put an end to the process, I received this message:
"The operation could not be completed. Access is denied. "What can I do to fix this?
Thank you.
Usually when you stop and restart Windows, Firefox is not running and can be started normally.
Firefox is set to start automatically with Windows? Microsoft has a utility to investigate what is set to happen at startup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
It is possible that something is triggering a process in your default browser and it is the hanging of Firefox. You can try to change your default browser to IE (IE can offer to do when you start) before the shutdown and restart Windows to see if it makes a difference.

I installed FF on my new computer, Windows 7 Toshiba, I get the message Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. It is NOT open I have only one computer.
I had a computer scientist to try everything, and we cannot on it to open it.Search the firefox process firefox.exe and kill him with for example the Task Manager. It is also worth watching for the plugincontainer.exe.
The problem and the solutions are explained in the articles:

I had this problem for quite a while. Downloads Download not really. Nothing comes in my download folder (and I checked where they are supposed to be stored, I'm checking the right place). In my downloads through the client Firefox popup if I click on any download, 'Open' and 'Open containing folder' is greyed out. I tried using 18 Firefox and the current client every night and reinstalled several times.
What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?
So "open" and "Open containing folder" in the menu contextual in the window Download Manager are grayed out then it means that the file is no longer in the original download location and they have been removed by anti-virus software or cleaning.
It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupt downloaded files or otherwise interferes with the download of files.
Try disabling analysis in real time (live) files in your software anti-virus temporarily to see if that makes working download.See:

Windows 7 icons on the desktop and start changed to dat file
Original title: Windows 7 icons on the desktop and Start Menu problems
I am running Windows 7 Pro with service pack 1 and all the icons on the desktop Start Menu has changed into something that resembles a dat file and when you click on it, they are trying to run a download would be and asks where I want to save them. Symantec Endpoint, Microsoft Security Essentials, or AVG will find viruses or problems with the computer. I spoke with the technology of Windows and he sent me the link to this page.
I've never seen anything like this.Hello
It can be disappointing when all the icons on the desktop and Menu start modified in a dat file. I understand the inconvenience.
You can try to rebuild the icon cache and check if it works properly.
Click Start, click Control Panel, and write in the box search folders options.
b. now, click on Folder Options to open and select folders and hidden files (dot).
c. open a Windows Explorer window.
d. go to C:\Users\(User Name) \AppData\Local
e. right click on IconCache.db and click on delete.
f. click Yes to confirm the deletion.
NOTE: This deletes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.
g. close the window.
h. emptying the trash.
i. restart the computer.
j. When you come back, you will notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date.
NOTE: If for some reason, IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not changed, then you can just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.
k. icon cache will be rebuilt.Hope it solves the problem. For any other corresponding Windows help, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.
See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

Hi, I'm trying start the IKE and AUTHOP service from the SERVICES screen but I get this error:
Windows could not start the IKE and Authip IPsec keying service modules on the local computer. Error 1075 the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.
original title: ike and authip error 1075 the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion
Hello
Remember to make changes to the computer before the show?
You can follow the below methods:
Method 1: Restart Windows and try to start the Security Center service.
If you still receive the same error, make sure that the WMI service is launched and running:
(a) click Start, run , and then type Services.msc
(b) double-click Windows Management Instrumentation
(c) set its startup type to Automatic
(d) click Start to start the service, and then click OK
(e) restart Windows.
Method 2: Restart the service
Windows logs an error if the service IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules or the driver does not start, or suddenly, they end.
To restart the IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules service:
To perform this procedure, you must have membership in the local Administrators group, or must you have been delegated the appropriate authority.
(a) restart the service. You can do this from a command prompt or in the snap-snap-in Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Do one of the following:
· Start an administrative command prompt. Click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. At the command prompt, run the command net start ikeext.
· Click Start, type services.msc in the Search box and press ENTER. In the column name of the Services snap-in, right-click on IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modulesand then click Start.
(b) if the attempt to restart the service fails, restart the computer. This forces all related and dependent services to restart.
(c) if the error persists after restarting the computer, then the executable files for the driver or service may be damaged, and the operating system must be reinstalled.
Note:
You can check that the IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules (IKEEXT) service runs by using the Component Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or the net start command line tool.
You can check the link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733299 (WS.10) .aspx
Method 3: Run a scan of the System File Checker.

It will be useful.

Received phone call from someone who identified himself as a member of the Technical Support of the Windows team. Says my calculation had sent messages back saying that I had a virus. Noticed that Windows update was not the last 2 weeks so I tried to run the updates. I get a sayingi error message that FAILURE of installing up-to-date security for KB2656353 and KB2656370. I downloaded all the patches and recommended tools. What should I do?

How to configure startup programs
Something seems to be continually downloading in the background, and the computer is so slow, it is booting? On Saturday, may 5, 2012 12:58:21 + 0000, joodZO wrote:

Since the very little information you provided, I do not know why
He runs slowly. But two points:1. first of all, note that you should be concerned all the programs
starts automatically, not only those who enter in the system tray.
Not all the programs auto-start manifesting by an icon in the
Status bar.On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its
Options to see if he has the choice of not start (make sure you)
Indeed choose not to run, not just a "don't show icon.
Optional). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If that is not
work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line, and then click the Startup tab.
Uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start. However, if I were you, I wouldn't do it just for the application of
the minimum number of running programs. Despite what many people say
You should be concerned, not with the way that a lot of these programs
you run, but who. Some of them can degrade performance severely, but
others have no effect on performance.Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do
is to determine what each program is, what its value is up to you which
the performance cost is its running all the time. You can try
Internet search and ask questions about the details here.Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed
decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.2. the computer running slowly is very often due to a malware
infection. What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs do you run?Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP
