G not recognized disk

Trying to swap files from an iMac new iMac via a G Mini HD Drive connected via Firewire adapter Thunderbolt. Turn on drive G, it does not appear on the new iMac desktop computer. Any ideas? Thank you.

Tom,

What is the format for the G-drive and also have you also checked in Finder - preferences to determine if the external HD is defined to display on the desktop?

Please answer two questions.

  • PXI-8104 external USB not recognized disk?

When I plug a USB key or USB key into the USB port on my PXI-8104 RT controller, the system does not appear to recognize him. Nothing does the mapping to drive u: or D:, so I can't write for her and I can't transfer anything using FTP or another utility such as MAX or Filezilla. Any ideas?

This is the module of USB support. I had a feeling that I missed something software wise. Looks like that it would have highlighted in BIG LETTERS "BOLD" in the PXI manual.

In any case, thanks for the help.

  • Satellite A10 - recovery disk not recognized

I want to format my hard drive and reinstall windows xp.

Of course, I have Toshiba A10 laptop with HDD 160g, 1 g of Ram, cd/dvd player and the restore disc (cd).

Problem: the restore disc is not recognized by the cd player. When I insert the disc, then again, boot sequence goes to hard drive and boots from there

    What I did:
    1. check if the reader sees another s cd. Answer Yes, Yes
2 boot sequence of the bios checked as well as toshiba consoles set up made sure it is
in "order"hdd, lan, floppy, cdrom", (I tried other combinations starting with cd as well).
    3. I cleaned the restore disc, didn't work
    4. I ordered another set of Toshiba restore disk, which did not work either, still not recognized
    5. I bought a cd/dvd external reader believe it or not, disc starts to work in this case, I get a warning screen shows all data will be lost and asks me to click if I want to continue, when I click it says will now restart the computer and it does but comes back and goes back on the hard drive and boots from there.

I must also add; When I switch on I get "' pxe e61 media test failure, mof outgoing intel boot agt" msg, according to my search, this problem indicates hard disk.
but my hard drive does not work,

Will someone give me an advice?

If the BIOS is set to boot from the local network first, before trying to boot from the HARD drive, you will see the error PXE.

Have you tried to clean the lens in the DVD player? Wipe with a Microfiber cloth.

try holding down "C" when you turn on the laptop, this will make it boot from the CD.

I gave up my old 3 months Qosmio x 770-107 last week and killed my HARD drive. A new HARD disk, exact replacement to order it. Ordered a DVD of recovery of this backup media site that is posted here. I entered number etc.

Rolled up today but at the start it is not recognize at all. He sees my drive in the BIOS, and I changed the startup as well as preferences to try waiting usual f12 or whatever.

    All I get is:
"Reboot and select proper boot device."
Or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. »

It doesn't matter what I do.

I tried another windows 7 boot cd and it started to load files perfectly. It's infuriating after 8 days of waiting, I thought I was back in business.

    Any help?

    Thank you

This means that you can install Win7 using the original installation disc from Microsoft but Toshiba recovery disc is not recognized at all?

What do you mean by "assigned to this disk as the location of the Archive" is this something to do with the software you use?

The drive is formatted for Mac?  Menu go to menu, click Finder go > utilities > disk utility > click on external drives partition - format it sets out Mac OS X extended.   Otherwise, to save the files on the disk and ease than Mac OS

  • External hard disk is not recognized in my computer

My external Western Digital USB hard drive is not recognized in my computer.

I see it in Device Manager and computer management/disk management but not in my computer.

Update driver, a refreshed in disk management and several reboots.

The external hard drive is there but not recognized on my computer.

I need to restore from this external hard drive, but I can't access it.

most of the answers deals with reformatting... the original post says he wants recover from this drive to reformat does not help... the external usb drives, equipped with cables that have 2 ends of usb, connect the two in to; separated on the MB, separate usb hubs usb ports it is because power is causing problems (current rises to voltage drops) then sometimes access to the drive causes the voltage on a single falling down USB, think the os it's read-only / permission issues, with 2 connected to separate power sources the question goes... they were built that way...

I also recommend to never put a USB through a third party hub as more often which can cause problems with the unrecognized drive.

That said, yes I had to reformat to access a drive, if you cannot write to a disc rclick and observe the permissions, if you have formatted the drive on another pc and not changed the permissions for everyone, then under sercurity see you permissions set on a long number, it is because he is always set to original pc (or the id of this pc). Sometimes you can over the way these parameters by taking possession (in the s parameters) and reset to everyone on the local pc.

Something else I found on the disc is not recognized... Plug it into the usb port as described above and restart the pc, I got this job...

Note: I deal with almost all the avalible from different readers that my clients use them all.

  • My SATA to USB bridge is not recognized in disk management

I bought a few SATA USB adapter, connected to my WD hard drive and my USB port, the computer recognizes, to install software for it and that's all.
I can't read the disc via Explorer because it is not recognized, only in the Device Manager it seems nowhere to be found, saying SPIF30x USB2SATA bridge device USB. I've searched for so many solutions and everything I find people you said to go to disk management and assign it a letter. Problem is, it does not appear. Everything I see here, is my main hard drive, divided into 4 parts, which should be normal, but in the port USB (F:\), where I plugged the adapter, it shows nothing. The adapter itself has 2 LEDs indicating power and access, with only the power light that shines. The light also keeps shining when I plug the hard disk, so my guess is the adapter is recognized, but the disk is not. The drive should work, I've so far always used internally (SATA cable from the motherboard, you know).
    Please help me with this.

If its not seen in disk management and then the drive has failed or connection method, the usb/sata converter does not work

  • Satellite X 200-252 Flash disk to USB not recognized

    Hello.

Once I plug the USB to the USB flash drive, system will try to find the driver, but in vain.
    External USB HARD drive œuvres.

    Toshiba Satellite x 200-252/Vista 32-bit

You mean that your external USB is not recognized if you connect it to the laptop
    I had this problem too
    In my case, the solution was simply;

I have disconnected all external USB devices.
Then, I saw the Device Manager and all USB host controllers and USB root hubs removed from the list of devices.
Finally, I rebooted the laptop and after a short time all USB devices have been installed again.
Then I plugged in the USB and it has been recognized correctly.

  • 1.5 TB external DRIVE not recognized on various laptops disk

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me.

I bought my 1.5 terrabyte toshiba external hard drive just for more than a year. It works fine on my other computer, laptop and cell phone from my boyfriend, but when I joined four other new laptops (all different brands) recently it was not recognized at all on these laptops.

Is there something wrong with my outside or something on these computers it prevents to be recognized? Do you know how I can fix this problem?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

And if you connect the external HARD drive to your boyfriend s computer laptop, everything is always ok? Only problems with new laptops?

Well that s really strange have you tried another USB cable and different USB ports?

Maybe on the new laptops the antivirus or firewall blocks access to the external hard drive. Check your security software and to allow external devices.

[Edited by: admin on 22 July 05 17:57]

    Hello

The problem is that all CD/DVD drives cannot work spirit all models of laptops. The problem is that there is no way to change to master or slave. AFAIK there is no public document that shows the discs and laptop computer compatibility.

The best solution is to check if the drive is CSEL. In this case, it should work properly. If you can check please if you can find the CSEL notation on the label located on the upper side of driver s.

    Good bye
