• Cannot open the RoboHtml project

  I received the following message trying to open all my help files today: "open a project has been cancelled or the application could not load the database [project name and path]." I followed the instructions given in the technical Note "RoboHelp X 5 Instructions" for this issue but still cannot open files. In fact, I can not yet launch a new project more. FYI-there is no other user in one of these files, and the last time I opened one was about three weeks ago. At that point, I had no problem.
  
  What could happen, and what can I do about it?

  On a computer with Word 2000 or 2002, X 5 will run straight out of the box. On a computer with Word 2003, you will need to download the service pack as described in my article on installing RoboHelp.

  Even without this, HR would install and work up until you try to do something a word related, so this isn't the cause of your problem.

  Make sure that IT allows to install your logon. Too often, they think it is easier to use their logons, because they have the correct rights. Unfortunately HR will work only if installed with your logon with admin rights and this problem has all of the features of you not having is not the correct rights.

• Cannot open the old projects with Prelude CC 2015.4

  I've just updated to prelude CC 2015.4. I don't know exactly what version I was running, but it was 2015.x. whenever I try to open an old project, freezes Prelude and closes.

  Too bad. It took just 45 minutes to open the project.

• Adobe first Pro CC 2015 cannot open my saved projects

  I've created several projects in Adobe first CC 2014 they ran a lot and everything was going well until I installed Adobe first CC 2015.

  I installed Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 and the projects I created in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 will not open unless I have them repeat manually. After I repeat their manually I get them to work and when I save it, it clearly shows that I saved (I even tried Save AS with a different name).

  When I try to open these saved projects (recently saved) in Adobe Pro CC first 2015, this is the error message I get.

  "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No preview of the sequence only preset file or codec might be associated with this type of sequence".

  Otherwise, I plan to start all over again. I helped somehow, but to start again is a real pain and I feel I'm wasting valuable time. Yet, I have 4 projects that must go through the same process.

  The second problem is when I select an element of the sequence or the whole project on the timeline to return as a sequence (no export) it will start to make but the yellow line above the timeline changes to green, and it never gives me the meter to percentage of how rendering is done. He just started playing in real time from the beginning of the clip or sequence.

  Any help out there?

  For the second, you can mark in and out point on the timeline for the area that you want to display.

  Go to the Menu sequence > select rendered outside.

  This will help you make the yellow bars as well.

• RH9 uninstalled, but cannot open the old project of RH8

  I have Robohelp 8 on my computer. I won Technical Communication Suite 3, which include RH9, in a draw and installed in a directory without removing RH8. Then I read that RH9 converts the files to a new format which is not backward compatible with RH8. It scared me, so I disabled and uninstalled RH9 and other components of the TCS3. RH8 remains on my computer, and I can run it normally. But when I tried to open an existing HTML project, I received a message that the project is in a new format which RH8 cannot read. So I unzipped a backup copy of the project, but got the same message with it too. I never opened the project in RH9, and I am sure that I never even launched RH9 on my computer before uninstalling it. So what the hell happens and how can I go back to the use of RH8? I hope someone can help me!

  Not sure why you would be skittish about the use of version 9, but whatever.

  Try to remove the. DPC to the project file and then it should reopen in version 8. Of course, a feature that is compatible that with 9 don't understand 8.

• Cannot open any screen project, in black only!

  Hey guys, working with a date limit here.
  My project crashes randomly and when I tried to re-opening first it would load the project but not to open it. I show up just a black screen!
  

  I tried to uninstall and reinstall but nothing.

  OK I fixed (or more like I put a band-aid on it)
  I opened in another computer (mac), re-recorded with a different name to a server, then it opens to my laptop.
  Weird, but it opened.

• Cannot open the LR project on the new system of Win 7 x 64

  Can someone tell me what is happening here?  I built a new PC, win7 x 64.  I put my LR database drive and my drive of LR in the new PC files.  The drive letters are the same as they were on the old PC.  I installed LR 2.7 on the new PC.  I opened the project very well file.

  After a reboot, I can open is no longer one of my old catalogss LR.  And I get a message like this.

  I get the same erros with LR3b2 catalogs.

  Your user name must be the owner or a member of the group that owns the player. Go to the Solution Explorer, click with the right button on the drive, properties/Security/Advanced/owner to see who is the owner and change for administrators (assuming that your username is a member of this group) or your username. Win7 is more strict on differentiate the permissions and ownership ala POSIX and LR seems to want property.

• Cannot open X 5 project

  Project, that I created with RoboHelp X 5. One of my clients is updating its own help for my project and use RoboHelp6. Now the project just send to me will not open in RoboHelp X 5 more. I always get the error:
  
  "This project is a more recent version of the program. This project is no longer compatible with this version. Please make sure that you have installed the latest version.
  
  However, I can't switch to RoboHelp6 as customers still use RoboHelp X 5. Asking everyone to upgrade is not an option.
  
  I also tried to open the file "hydrostatic" instead of the 'xpj' file, but this fails with the same error message. In addition, I get the message "unable to create the database. Check that the directory is not dead. »
  
  All the files are on the local drive of the PC (not on a network drive), and the files are writable.

  Option 1] Hop on PayPal and send me an obscene amount of money! I'll come and attach it wherever you are.

  Option 2] remove the CPD file before opening the project in the XPJ file. It will open and OK should indicate the client did not do anything RH6 specific, like using variables. It has more on this subject in the section on the projects on my site.

  Are you aware that you can run X 5 and RH6 on the same PC? You must buy the full version of RH6, not upgrading, but they work quite happy together.

  In the media browser, this tutorial shows objects and footage of this second project - in order to use some of them in the new (first).

  I tried to do the same thing, but it does not work in my first Pro CC 2014: when I am clicking on the second project (oder) in the media browser I just see the file *.prproj, nothting else. I can click or double click, right click, CTRL click... nothing.

  Can someone tell me why this is?

  Is there some preset that I have not found that I have to activate in advance or what?

  Hmmm. Maybe you have to kill the process and try again.

  That the process ends on its own after a while when I left Premiere Pro.

• Demo dl cannot open a project former "saved in a newer version.

  Hi, I just download the premiere pro demo for the PC version. IM on windows 7.  The software cannot open an old project. The message said that it was "recorded in the most recent version of a first pro and cannot be opened with this version. Very strange. How could it be possible?

  Perhaps because this project has been done on Mac? Please tell me what to do. Good day.

• Cannot open .cp file in Captivate 5.5

  Hi all

  I shall now change more than 30 files with the extension ".cp" with Captivate 5.5 installed in my PC, the files are created in the year 2011 and possibility created using the previous version of Captivate.

  However he warned me that Captivate cannot open files

  

  As far as I know, Captivate 5.5 should be able to open the files of the previous version, I searched on the web and most of the responses refer to the link (http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-troubleshooting/recover-corrupt-project) but I have not any locked backup or cache files, I suspect that the files are not damaged, since I couldn't open all the files.

  5.5 or 5 can open files-cp normally if they were not damaged and do not use AS2. ActionScript 2 is no longer supported since 5. '2011' bit strange because cp-extension disappeared earlier. Are there no way to check in this ' earlier?

• Captivate cannot open the file error

  VERY simple project generates the above error.

  Menu screen with buttons related to files F4V inserted as «drag videos»  The videos are large files and run in 1024 x 768. It records correctly after compression of time looong and does not open. This only happens after that I inserted slide videos and related buttons.

  The error says "cannot open file XXXXX. Ensure that this file is not open already etc... »

  I did a ton of times before and may not know what is happening.

  You try to insert videos 6 x 1 hour (6-800 meg) in a single project Captivate that ends up being 4.2 GB in size... and you wonder why Captivate has decided, that it can not open it?

  I think that you were right. The file is simply too big.
