Cannot play any SIMS Expansion Packs

Hello everyone

I noticed there seems to be some kind of problems running some of the Sims games and now I'm facing this problem myself. I spent a week going back and with the help of EA technique and nowhere. I spin an Equium M50-216 and does not understand why he should have no problem running a basic like this game. I have all the latest drivers, Direct X etc. up-to-date and always get an error screen when I try to start the game.

Does anyone know if it seems to be a compatibility issue with the Equium M50 and the Sims?

I'm not stupid when it comes to computers, but it baffled me.

Thanks a lot for any help

Hello David

I'm no expert of SIMS, but I saw on this similar forums. It will be interesting to know what error message is when you start the game and official text of EA games for this problem is.

Good bye

  • Satellite 1690cdt: his problem - cannot play any mp3

    Hello

I have an old 1690cdt that works just right. the only problem I want to solve, is that the sound does not work.

If I run the windows media player, it says "no audio hardware available. I can't play any mp3 either.

If I put an audio cd in the cdrom drive, it plays.

If I look at the configuration of the system, there is an audio WDM crystal soundfusion cs4281 installed. According to the specifications, this should be the sound card.

I tried updating the driver, but it does not work

I can do, or is it just broken?

    Sincerely,

    Gerard

    Hello

In my opinion, the sound card is ok. You need only a MP3 for Windows Media Player codec. I use the Winamp application to play the Mp3 files. This very nice program, I m very happy. Try to install it and check if it of possible to read mp3.

  • Sims Expansion Pack troubleshooting! ??

Very well. I tried to solve this problem, but I don't have ninja skills required. So this is: I recently bought the first packs of six expansion for the sims one (including the sims one) for a very cheap price. It was great, I was excited and I installed all of them in the order in which they were released. And YAY, I got to play! BUT. There is always a but. But if I left out of it and then tried to come back, a notice appears saying that the expansion disc must "patch" itself on previous expansion drive. So I welcomed this '' correction '' unfold and then for some reason, all of the extensions I downloaded just disappear. I tried to redo several times, which made me very close to drink. So if someone knows what can be done about it so that I can play sims with its extensions, I would be grateful orientation.

  • The Xbox Extender cannot play any video or music: 69-c00D36c4 status code

I have my Xbox connected to my Win 7 machine extender.

For some reason any Xbox can't play all files on the media center extender - only images. Music files, but remains at 0:00. Neither TV or recorded TV works. He simply says there are problems of codec and I have to restart the Media center or PC. It does not help.

It is not a problem with the extension. I formatted the computer to try to remove the error. Before I even installed an update, I created the link to my extension and still the same problem. It is therefore not my Win7 that has the problem.

I can still access the files through file Xbox navigation. Once I could see a list of my saved programs, but the Xbox told me the following: 69-c00D36c4 status code

I can play the music files from the PC through the good file Xbox navigation - simply not WMC.

Any help would be appreciated. I am very frustrated. Searched the net but have not found much.
I have updated the media option installed.

    Hello, Jakob

Did you install updated / departure of software or make any other changes before that?
    It worked before?
What security software do you use? (Antivirus, firewall, etc.).
Where's the media? Is it on a local, external, or network location?

If the problem is new, you can try a system restore: System Restore: frequently asked questions

If the files are on an external drive, or a network location, try to copy one of the files to the appropriate windows library (music or video) and check if you can play the file on the Extender.

Also, try to delete the folder location of the library Windows and one location in Media Center. After having been removed, close Media Center and re-add-the then test once more.

  • I went to play a DVD on my computer this evening and received this msg: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because no compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.

    DVD decoder not installed?

I went to play a DVD on my computer this evening and received this msg: Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because no compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.
A few weeks ago, I played DVD on my computer. I would like to know what is happening. Any ideas/suggestions?

I tried to play one of the same DVDs I played before... same message.  Nothing to my knowledge has been removed from my computer and I'm the only one with access... "very confused.

    Thanks if anyone can help.

Yes, and if you install the utility on your system, you'll see all decoders.

The utility will also tell you if a decoder is compatible or not.

Using Media Player version 10 or 11?

the utility tells me I have no decoder... the only thing I can think is that if I actually deleted it... I rarely remove anything because I do not add a lot... but it is possible a few weeks ago, I have to get rid of some things (I'm quite cautious because I'm not an expert).   It is the Media Player version 11, I was trying to use... but I rebooted now 10 to see if there was something to update related that mess.

because I used the VLC Player successfully, I have not yet tried Windows Media Player (since WMP reloading and load the codec pack)

So great to have the entry of a person who knows what he's doing.  Thanks again. I will try the Windows Media Player later and see if I have his use of return.

    Have a great day!

  • Error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file' when try to play wav or midi files.

Original title: WMP "can't play wav or midi.

Using WMP 11 on Windows XP SP3.

Windows Media Player has somehow forgotten how to play wav or midi files. Doubleclicking either of these file types give an error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. " There is a button 'Close' and 'Web Help' which still informs me, "you met the C00D1199 error message... ". ». Following the advice given nothing less than useful.

I can easily play these files with RealPlayer or VLC so I don't think it's a driver problem, and it wasn't a corruption right after installing the other players. WMP seems to work OK when playing music or AVI. And there is no harm to hear a sound (wav or midi) in Windows for various system events. Have already uninstalled/reinstalled WMP without result.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have since determeined the problem comes from an updated codec package I installed a few weeks ago. These codecs were from Shark007 which I believe is a Microsoft MVP. Use the codecs from this site for a number of years without any problems so I did not initially suspect it was the source of the problem. I uninstalled the codec pack and installed K-light package and everything seems to be Ok now. Now, I'll be in contact with the members of this forum.

  • Cannot play DVD movies on due to licensing issues.

My friend built me a computer and installed a Dvd inside player.  Unfortunately, when I put in the DVD videos, I can't view because of licensing issues.  I know that most other DVD readers can read the videos without these problems.  I think that my dvd drive is an ATAPI iHAS120 6.  Help, please.

This is the message I get when I try to play the DVD.  "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

I think that these DVDs are protected by DRM, but they played on my sister's laptop.
