Cannot play rise of nations on windows 7

Help! I buy CDs of RoN and install it on my laptop but it wan't work! Simply pop up an alert to log in with administrator privileges if you please and try again... I want to play... Please someone help!

It seems that the issue is either:

  • You are not logged under an account with administrative rights on the computer
  • You are logged on as administrator, but user account control is disabled, and the installation files are running as a standard user

If you are not logged as an administrator, but you know the credentials of the administrator account, you can:

  • Log in as that account and install the program, and then try to play normally under your regular account
  • Log you into that account and give your ordinary account admin rights
  • When you go to run the program or installation files, right-click on the file and select "Run as Administrator"

If logged in as an administrator, you can:

  • Right-click on the file and select run as administrator
  • Go to the control panel->-> change the user account control user accounts settings. Change the settings for UAC to something like that

I have Rise of Nations / Thrones and Patriots and the game plays absolutely perfectly on my Windows7 Home Premium 64-bit system. Given that some people have problems, and others like me have no problem to run the game, I suggest that you go to the homepage of the game and try the demo before you buy the full game.

  • Cannot play movies/recorded shows in Windows Media Center on Windows 7

Three years ago I bought a Sony laptop with Vista and an external tuner ATI so that with a CableCARD, I could use Windows Media Center to record shows/movies. I recently bought a new PC with Windows 7 and found that the Windows 7 PC cannot read the 500 films/shows that have been saved and the new Windows 7 recorded shows can be played by the Vista laptop. Is any way to convert or run natively these shows that have been saved under the WMC?

    Hi RalphGreenlee,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

If I understand correctly, you are unable to play back movies recorded in windows media center.

Looks like the file cannot not supported by Media Center or you need a codec to right.
What type of video file format?
Also check the videos if there are other formats to the choice other than the one you have now.

    Method 1:
    Step 1:
Indicate the file types supported by Windows Media Center:
Types of files supported by Windows Media Center:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/file-types-supported-by-Windows-Media-Center
    Step 2:
Try using a good set of codecs and then try to burn video files.

  • my PC and windows 10 cannot play nice how to keep windows 7 and no. unwanted Windows 10 updares or auto download to Bam Windows 10 MORE EVER

I tried windows 10 and have used the functionality of recovery more than the computer itself for 3 months!

so I unchecked give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates.

so, if I find a bunch of optional updates, even though they say windows 7 are actually for windows 10 as I've already seen 2 updates that others say are the door open for download this piece of JUNK!

my PC works well MICROSOFT with windows 7, I want 10 free WINDOWS and I sure I want to pay $10 or $1000 for it not today tomorrow not ever.

rant on so if I see recommended updates I can assume this is striktly for my windows 7 ultimate only see I disabled the above mentioned check.

I can also uninstall IE 11 and my PC will work as expected I use chrome for now at least is not in my face all the time Hey upgrade to windows 10.

Please let know us if I can use my windows 7 and Mossy on the road, knowing that any updates I install recommended updates will keep my PC running windows 7.

    Thank you

You cannot uninstall IE, but you can disable it.  Go to your "run" box and type optionalfeatures (one word) and in the next area, you get just disable IE.

  • Cannot play MPEG-4 video in Windows Media Player or Media Center from my Flip Video Camcorder

I use Win 7 with Windows Media Player 12 and when I try to play a Flip Video camcorder, which is an MPEG-4 format, I get the error "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem while playing the file."

I then help the option to select Web and it takes me a Microsoft page that describes the C00D11B1 error code.  Who has no sense to me because it speaks to my sound card and I can't read thie videos no problem via the Flip Video software supplied with the camcorder.

I was under the impression that WMP 12 taken supported MPEG-4.  Also get the Error tyring to play videos through Media Center.   Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I use Win 7 7600 version 6.1

I guess that the Flip Video software used a codec that is not Media Player. I was looking at the setting for the camera to see if it will save in another format.

    Hello

Do you mean that the game does not run in mode full screen?
Try to uninstall and reinstall display drivers. Check if the problem persists.

Uninstall and reinstall the display adapter drivers. Check if the problem persists.
    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then click Device Manager.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. in the list, locate the graphics card, right click on the device and then click Properties.
    3. click Driver tab and click on uninstall, and then click OK.
    4 restart the computer.
    5. now download and install the graphics card drivers on the manufacturers website.

You can also try to change the video settings in the game and check.

  • In the error message is Vista "Windows Media Player cannot play the file, might not support the codec used to compress the file.

It worked very well what place please?

    * original title - Window Media Player cannot drive cannot read the file the player could does not load the file or may not support or does not support the codec used to compress the fichier.*

    Hello

    1. what changes have been made to your computer before the problem?
    2. the problem occurs on a particular file?
    3. What is the format of the file you want to play in Windows Media Player?

You may encounter this error message for the following reasons:

    (a) the file type is supported by the drive, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the player.

    (b) the file might have been encoded with a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.

Windows media player will play only the files and videos only if it supports this type of file.

Please see the bottom of the article that gives you information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

If the files are not supported by Windows media player, then you will need to use a few players from third party that supports this file format.

  • Windows cannot load of Rise of Nations and when I restart it blocks my machine

I have a new Dell laptop with Windows 7 above.  I have an older game, Rise of Nations, I love to play.  I went to load it on my machine and it loads fine, but it does not open.  When I restart the machine, I get a locked machine.  I had to reboot in safe mode and restore to an earlier date.  Has anyone found a workaroundfor this?  I hate to say goodbye to this game.

    have you tried compatibility mode.
