• Don't allow the computers in the domain to connect to the WLAN

  I'm going in circles here.  First of all, I apologize for posting this question if it has been included in the past (if you have another thread to offer, I invite you to point me to it!)  I did a little research on several forums and articles and support sites.  But I'm missing something.

  I work with HP Procurve 420 access points (they bought these before starting.)   I have Cisco Secure ACS for windows 4.2 installation.  I have configured the external database group mappings to active directory and vlan assignment by group dynamics.  I have install the certificate from the ACS, and CA is our own ca on our network server.  Users can successfully authenticate and connect to the vlan appropriate right now.  That's where I'm stumped.  I want only our computers to connect.

  1 how/what/where can I go from here if I want only to allow computers on our domain to connect to the connection wireless company?   Set up some kind of another certificate that gets distributed by GPO or something?  Or is there something in ACS I can change?

  2. What is the ACS certificate, I already installed on the ACS server do?  Is it encrypt the authentication process that takes place when a user establishes a connection?

  3. How do you guys did this on your own networks?  I go about it the wrong way? What do you suggest me?

  The final goal is that I want a user with a laptop of society must be able to connect to the wireless network and to authenticate and to be placed in the appropriate vlan (which works now), but I won't be able to do it with any device, I would like to some how manage and restrict computers can connect.  Help, please!

  1. I think that you can use the group mapping (see page 603 of the ACS 4.2 user guide) to use the domain computers group.  Deny access to any other group (via the No. Access Group)

  2. to the Spiderbeam of each EAP conversation, the ACS server will provide the certificate as proof of who he is.  If the client trusts the cert, then the client will continue authenticatin process.  It's how you help ensure that your clients connect only to your network.  If you configure clients to ignore the cert, and someone else is a network with your SSID, your customers can try to connect.

  3. many companies to complain about not being able to contol that devices connect to their networks.  It is a way to do it.  By simply using PEAP with user accounts, any portable computer iPhone/iPad/staff / anything that can connect to your wireless network, if the user knows how to set up.

• Unable to create DirectX device on some computers. The error code is D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE.

  I'm sorry if this post is not in the right place, or if it is a duplicate. I couldn't find help anywhere for the problem that I am facing.

  I worked for a few days now trying to get a DirectX control to load on some computers in my organization. The code we have written works fine on some machines (perhaps 50%), but fails to initialize DirectX during the creation of the unit on others machines with an exception containing the code of error D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE. We use the DirectX 9 SDK for development. We did ensure that the DirectX (version 10) runtime is installed on the computers of problem as well (we believe that the runtime must be backward compatible). I wrote the code to attempt to create a device using all possible combinations of the available settings and still no device can be created! The code I used to try to find any working device is less. I'm doing something wrong? Code (written in c#) starts in the InitializeGraphics() function and calls the GetAcceptableDevice() function. The GetAcceptableDevice() function returns zero on our computers of problem:

  I also read on various places on the Internet that a type of software with the software vertex processing will work always, even if it's slow.   One might think that DirectX may run on any graphics card, even if it ran slowly on the low-end cards. Is it possible that DirectX does not work on some graphics cards? It is somewhat disturbing, because about half of our computers will not initialize our DirectX control and our control of OpenGL works fine on these machines. Is there something else we can try, perhaps related to some system settings that are more fundamental than the initialization code? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Certificates not updated on computers in the domain

• A toolbar that is added to the start bar disappears on some computers if the language bar is docked.

  I did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate on one of my PC. All device drivers are working perfectly. I added Turkish to my languages and choose to display the embedded language (that is not detached from the start bar) bar. I added another toolbar (it could be a toolbar, such as the address or the Quick Launch bar, or a custom toolbar) to the start bar. When I restart the computer, it will operate additional disappears and I have to select them again each time. The only solution I've been able to understand in order to prevent the disappearance of these toolbars is to disconnect the language bar or choose to not show it. Download of Windows 7 available updates and update all device drivers did not make a difference. Device Manager displays any hardware not recognized and all that it seems normal. Out of curiosity, I installed the same operating system on another dissimilar PC, but did not have the same behavior. I hope that Microsoft or some other assistant will be able to understand why this happens (in some cases), and then maybe a fix/tweak BONE is located.

  When you manage add toolbar and it will not disappear after the reboot you can understand that the value of TaskbarWinXP located under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop has been changed. He's almost 4 larger than without the extra toolbar.

• I can't start a desktop connection remote with my file server, but I can't get to my domain controller. Other computers on the network can initiate together.

  Using server 2003 as DC and server 2003 as a FS. Problem computer running windows 7 upgraded to vista professional. I can open a desktop session with the domain controller remotely, but I can't launch with the fs. Other computers on the domain have no problem with a server opening. I have access to shared folders on the MSDS via LAN and can ping the fs. Also can not use MySQL on the fs with this computer. FS cannot launch the Office with the computer problem remotely but can with others.

  Hello.  I would like to know a little better on the domain network.  My computer is currently the Working Group on my home network.  I read on the domain network and it is said that

  "If you have a user account on the domain, you can connect to any computer on the domain without needing an account on this computer." (from windows help and support)

  Does that mean exactly?  This means that if my computer joined to the domain, other computers on the same network of domain can access all the files on my computer (the files that I have has not yet implemented to share)? or does this mean that other computers on the domain can connect to my computer as remote desktop? (I do not want that to happen...)

  It seems like a lot that the office uses the domain network and I would like to know how it works.  I read some articles on the field and how to put in place and other things, but I couldn't specify my question.  I appreciate if anyone can help my answer.

  Using domain causes a topology around real server (like Windows 2008).

  Companies use this topology because of the size of their system and the need for central control.

  There is no advantage to using such topology for small home network.

  If you use the parameter field and that you do not have a General with your network domain server will not work correctly.

  A domain is a group of the PC network that share a common database and security policy. Computers can be on different LANs. A COMPUTER administrator runs the estate as a unit with rules and common procedures. One or several PCs on a domain's servers. Control of security servers and permissions for all computers on the domain. This makes it easier for an admin, IT changes because the changes are automatically made to all PC.

  Windows Pro 8 and 8.1 of Windows Pro allows you to join a domain so that you can connect to your company or school network. PC running Windows 8.1 or 8.1 RT Windows cannot join a domain.

  Domain users must provide a password or other information of connection whenever they have access to the field.

  If you have a user account on a domain, you can connect to any PC on the field without needing an account on this PC. You can probably make only changes limited to a PC settings because IT admins often want to keep network PC compatible.

• Network management problem, computer laptop Windows 7 will not find other computers on any network, however all other computers on the network can access Windows 7 laptop.

  Basically, the issue I'm having is that my laptop does not connect to any other computer to access the actions or other files.  Other computers on the network can access my computer laptop shares and files without any problems.  Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.

  What I tried:

  restarted
  uninstalling and reinstalling the files and printers, sharing maps and restart after completion
  all disabled firewall
  tried with IPv6 enabled and disabled without change, so it is currently enabled
  tried on a Wi - Fi and the differences are listed below in the section work (work is wireless)
  able to ping other comptuers
  access to other computers is permitted by other computers

  problem extends over several networks, IE I noticed it at home last night and the followed problem my laptop at work this morning.
  The problem is slightly different on the two sites.

  At home:
  I can see the other computers on the network, but I am unable to access it, even if I have permission, but other computers can access to my laptop.

  At work:
  Cannot even find other computers on the network but they can find and access my laptop.

  I have worked on this problem of non stop for several hours and did much more than what is said, but I am unable to remember everything.  I should have been taking notes: P

  If it has started, you can try a system restore - an update "might" have caused the problem.

  1. try a system restore back to a point before that happened. And immediately thereafter enter
  Control Panel - Windows updates - top left settings and set it to download and informs you instead
  Automatic. Leave it until you are sure that everything is OK and then you can add them one at a time
  to troubleshoot BUT click right on and HIDE all the driver updates. Also stop at day of drivers like below
  and let this value - manually search for drivers when you think you need. (See how and why to)

  I had completely forgotten the system restore!  While looking into the system restore, I found that when I moved into my new House and has cable Internet installed, the cable technology installed a program of comcast on my computer.  This caused me to not be able to connect with other computers.  After rolling back to install it before it works!   Thank you.

• Need help with Acrobat 11.0.9: weird interface and fails on some computers

  We use Adobe Acrobat Pro for a few years now and in the world have been very happy with it. Recently, the quality of the product appears to have increased in particular on Mac computers.

  However we will have problems with the 11.0.9 update that just happened recently:

  (1) on some computers Windows, the interface on the right is much more that should be and a new tab called "Fill and sign" was introduced. We are concerned it was a malware until we read the release notes. Is it really normal? The interface is very large and strange. Is there a way we can remove it?

  (2) also once the new module for recent files is activated, we do experience Acrobat 11.0.9 is frozen for a few seconds and on Mac laptops, we noticed that energy consumption is back while he had good improvement for the last few editions. We have mobile lawyers who use Acrobat intensively on Mac laptops and battery life is important to them. They can just turn off the feature, fortunately, but then the new motive is unnecessary and we love the normal behavior of best.

  We have about 30 computers with Acrobat Pro on them, Mac and Windows, and about a third of them have at least one of these problems.

  Yes, it's normal.  You can close or disable entirely.

  You should be able to disable it via the following entry in an administrator created the "com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist" file in the FeatureLockdown section.  The file is placed in the Preferences directory, and should apply to all users.

  I am the Director of technical support for more than 1000 computers. Recently in some computers (windows based) users cannot save .pdf, .doc files using "Save target as" in google search results. Can someone help me, I couldn't have known that the same works very well on some computers.
