Cannot remove a printer that needs troubleshooting
I have a HP Lasterjet M2727nf that HP still did not provide a suitable driver for so Im using their print driver universal who don't scan etc.
Putting this in place, I have now two M2727 printers in my control panel, one that works and the other is not. Unfortunately, there is no option to delete/remove the non-working and even supported HP didn't know what to do.
And WHAT take HP so long to provide a good driver for Windows 7? Dell support said they use Win 7 for 6 months now.
Hi NOrrTH123,
Try uninstalling the printer settings, and then run the installer in compatibility mode and see if that solves the problem.
To run the troubleshooting program compatibility Troubleshooter
- Open the program compatibility problems by clicking on the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type Troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under programs, click run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
- Follow the instructions contained in the resolution of the problems.
If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the Troubleshoot utility, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. This utility is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
For more information follow the link given described.

OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot remove my printer
Hi all
I tried to remove my printer (it did not work, so I tried to reinstall).
I went into the control panel of configuration/printers, then right-click on my printer and press 'delete device '. The icon became gray and it has been like this for 3 days now. You can see on the bottom, it says ' status: removing device "." I can't reinstall (does not recognize the printer).
How can I get rid of this?
I uninstalled all the HP software and delete a bunch of registry entries on the 8610. It's still there...
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the HP community @Felix_B,
I read your post about the troubles you are experiencing remove the printer from your Windows 10 system, and I hope that I can help you with questions. I think it could be stuck print jobs in the print queue, so recommend some things to try to get over there.
Please start by trying the following steps:
Step 1: Check print spooler:
- Open your screen to Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left side of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
- In the start screen, type run
- Click Run to launch the run dialogue box
- In the run box, type services.msc and click OK
- When the Services window opens scroll down until you see the print spooler
- Click Print Spooler once just to highlight
- If you Start in the upper left corner that indicates that your print spooler is actually stopped (not good). But we will leave that for now.
- If you stop or restart in the upper left corner, this indicates that your print spooler is actually started. Please click on stop to stop the service momentarily.
- Reduce this window which will allow us to come back here
Step 2: Check the spooler folder:
- Reopen your splash screen
- Computertype. Click on the computer (or on This PC) when it fills so
- In the computer window, select your Drive C
- Click on Windows
- Click on System32
- Click on the reel
- Click PRINTERS. You can get permissions to a warning, just continue beyond that.
- PRINTERS of the folder must be empty. If there is no file here, they are corrupt print jobs. Right click on anything in that folder and 'delete' files.
- Close the PRINTERS folder
Step 3: Start Spooler and audit dependencies:
1 open the Services window we previously minimized
2. click on print spooler to highlight
3. click on Start in the upper left corner
4. If you get an error message please take note of this
5. If the print spooler starts successfully you will see "stop and restart" as your options at the top left
6. then, double left click on print spooler. A print spooler properties window is now open. Click the connection tab at the top. Can you please make sure that it is set to Local System account and make sure that the check box is selected to "Allow the Service to interact with desktop".
7. then click on the tab "dependencies". Please check which dependencies are listed. I need to know this if the problem persists when you have completed the steps I provide in this post.
8. click on apply and OK for any changes that you have made the log tab. Close the Services window.
Now try to access devices and printers and try to remove the printer.
I hope this helps, and if you have problems, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you. If these steps helped to solve the problem, click Accept as button Solution at the end of my post here please.
Will testify of our help in the forums by clicking on the thumbs up this message below!

Cannot remove a printer driver in the version of Windows7 Home Premium (64-bit).
After you install the version of Windows7 Home Premium (64-bit), my printer (Samsung ML2552W) would print not but continues to divide a batch of blank pages. I thought that the printer driver is apparently corrupt and I want to remove it and install again. However I was not able to do this. I signed in as an administrator, went to the MMC, but not able to find the "Print Management" snap-in Then I read that Windows7 Home Premium doesn't have the snap-snap-in "Print Management". Still, I have this snap or not, how do I remove the printer driver for this printer?
Have you searched online? You searched on Google? You have restarted your computer? Here are the questions I ask for you help answer yourself.
Have you checked if the printer has enough ink in there? Did you check the Samsung website? Have you contacted Samsung on this issue, well, have you? Have you checked the drivers? Have you updated the drivers? Have you checked the 'Device Manager' for the problem? Did you that the cable to the computer to the printer is not a little in it? You should check these. And if they don't work then come back.

Hello
In Control Panel, open administrative tools and select abuse. Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button. Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find that the documents have been deleted.

CANNOT REMOVE THE INSTALLED PRINTER (EPSOM C88) EVIL.
ON WINDOWS 7 I FIRST TRIED TO INSTALL AN EPSON STYLUS C88 PRINTER USING THE EPSON INSTALLATION DISC, BUT THE INSTALLATION STALLED. THEN I LEARNED THAT I COULD INSTALL THE PRINTER WITHOUT THE DISK BY CALLING THE PRINTER JUST RECORD AND SAYING "ADD PRINTER", AND I DID. BUT THIS NEWLY INSTALLED PRINTER ICON IS MARKED BY A SIGN OF ERROR. I RUN THE TROUBLESHOOTER THROUGH IT AND FIXED A NUMBER OF THINGS, BUT THE PRINTER STILL DOES NOT PRINT. I DON'T KNOW THE PROBLEM, IT IS THAT IN MY PRINTER FOLDER, THERE IS ALWAYS A PRINTER "UNSPECIFIED" (INSTALLED WITH THE DRIVE), THAT I CAN'T REMOVE. WHEN I TURN THE HIGHLIGHT THEN MADE A RIGHT CLICK, I CAN FIND ONLY 'PROPERTIES' AND 'TROUBLESHOOT' - NO. 'REMOVE' COMMAND. SO HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS PRINTER "UNSPEFICIED" OBVIOUSLY INTERFERES WITH THAT SPECIFIED WHICH HAS BEEN CORRECTLY INSTALLED?

I had to wipe my iMac and resinstall IOS Mavericks (10.9.5). Printer (Officejet Pro 8600, 9N11g) works, but won't scan (double-clicking icon in "original item cannot be found") and the HP utility on dock icon is absent, replaced by a "?." I found instructions to uninstall the printer software so I can reinstall... but there is no longer any HP or "Uninstalling HP's" on my Mac HD folder. Not there at - it a HP folder in the library/printers folders. Research Spotlight shows no HP or Hewlett-Packard folder on my hard drive.
I downloaded a 'HPPPrinterDrivers3.0.dmg' and ' HP-Injket-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.37.dmg, "which I'm hoping will contain updated software/drivers to reinstall the printer and I hope as the HP utility so I can resume the scan function, but I can't understand how to remove the current printing software, and I don't know if those are the files migrate to use. I understand just remove the printer will not be enough.
Can someone provide step by step instructions how uninstall the software and installation (since I don't know if I have the correct dmg files)? Thank you.
Hello
First I offers to repair disk permissions, and then try to reinstall the HP software.
Follow the steps below to repair disk permissions:
1. open the Applications folder.
2. go to the Utilities folder.
3. double-click on disk utility.
4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The progress log shows when the process was completed.Once you are finished, run the HP-Injket-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.37.dmg and follow the instructions on the screen, be sure to select the option of Scanning HP when installing to get all the features of the software.
Please, try the above steps and let me know the results,
