Cannot run any guest 64 bit on ESXi

Hello

I have an ESXi running on a HP DL320G5 with an Intel Xeon 3050. Support of Intel VT is enabled and that Xeon certainly supports it.

But I can't get any guest 64-bit running. They crash or refuse to start.  I can't even own VMware appliances (VIMA etc.) to run.

Any idea that coulkd be the problem?

Unfortunately, this work around is reserved for hosted products.  There is no work around for ESXi.  There may be a newer BIOS available at HP.

    Hello

    1. what happens when you try to run .exe files?

    2. do you get an error message?

I suggest you try to download the Microsoft security scanner and see if you are able to download. If so, then try to run it and check if it helps.

    @Ariel

Can you ping the guest with other systems (default gateway) on the local network that will accept pings?

Did you install VMware tools on the guest RHEL5?

What kernel are you running?  uname - sr

RHEL5 installation with virtualization installs a kernel Xen, I've seen problems.  According to me, he lifts the bridge of peth0 interface in the configuration as well.  You can try reinstalling RHEL5 with no virtualization and not IPV6 then install VMware tools.

  • Cannot run any form of convenience store/even Viewer with Windows 7

Original title: problems with any form of convenience store / observer of events in Windows 7

Hi, lately I had problems (as the title indicates current) with any form of troubleshooting as well as Event Viewer on the laptop of my father he made the end of 2013.

I tried researching the issue, but couldn't find answers to the problem, however, was not able to find a solution for this particular combination of questions.

I ran the SFC system several times, he can't find anything nor does it fix anything. I also tried to run the Microsoft Fix It utilities, but those who do run either.

Each troubleshooting tool does the following:

As you can see there the error 0x800736B1 code, but when I tried this search, the only solutions had to do with the programs that deal with photos / images.

Then I tried to research that the context was limited, but none of the errors found during the search has the same error code.

So the question with Event Viewer, is that it does the following:

I tried all the solutions I could find for this as well with zero improvement.

If I could get help to these questions and to get this sorted out for my dad, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You have malware rootkit and reinstall from scratch.

Hive HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, which most will be begins with a period:

    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avi

    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.PDF

  • How to control the implementation of devices that cannot run any agent, such as thin clients, printers, and other press.

I have an OOB layout that has all the ports from the switch controlled by the same profile. I would like to be able to place clients on a network, printers on one another and tell on another unix systems. Right now I have a filter that lets the clients on the network, and they are put on the vlan by default to access via port profile. The filter is by MAC address.

What is the only way we can do that?

Can we put things on different networks, using this method, if so how?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

When you create a new filter for a specific MAC/IP, we should select the "Access Type" for this device.

As shown in the attached screenshot (taken from the NAC 4.8), we also have the ability to define the type of access based on a specific user role.

  • Impossible to install any Microsoft OS 64 - Bit in esxi 4.0 or 4.1

    Hi all

I'm new to this community and I was told by many of my friends who use VMware is the best platform to get answers to my questions. I am currently configuring VMware infrastructure for one of our society. I have faced a problem during the installation of any guest 64-bit OS Microsoft (see attached) in the esxi Server.

I also enclose the detailed configuration of the server

    My Config servers

    HP ProLiant DL380 G7

    Processor: Intel Xeon E5503 @ 2.00GHz CPU

    I tried a few steps

    1. upgrade the BIOS on HP Site

2 edited the file .vmx following the instructions of the sub view

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00970200 & lang = to & cc = us & taskId = 115 & prodSeriesId = 420496 & prodTypeId = 18964

3 enabled the options in the BIOS below

    • No-Execute Memory  Protection
    • Execute  Disable
    • Virtualization technology (VT)

Ask you to review and to advise me the reason and a fix for this problem.

    Thank you and best regards,

    thetrojanz

It will not work. To run 64-bit on a virtual ESXi host clients, you must have at least 8 of VMware Workstation. Please take a look at Execution nested VMs for more details on how to make this work.

  • Cannot print from FSX w/acceleration, no further questions. Running Windows 7 64 bit.

I have FSX w/acceleration installed for a few years now on my HP G71 dual core laptop and it works great, that I had no problem at all. It was my first attempt to print from it however. I wanted to print a flight plan, click on the "print" button and nothing happened. I went to the Panel, open Printers and devices, and my printer was there, online and ready without papers pending. I went to properties and even printed a test page, so I know that the issue is not with the printer. For some reason any FSX does not send the document to the printer. How can I remedy, which should look and where? Thank you in advance for any light that can be shared.

  • Workstation w/ESXi 4.1: cannot run x 64 2008r2 on i5 with VT-on in BIOS

    I learn virtualization

    I have a hp 8440p laptop i5

I have all the options of VT is enabled in the BIOS

Do you have a bios update/made sure that all the drivers are there.

installed VM Workstation-> installed ESXi 4.1 U1 on it

VSphere installed on the same computer-> connected to ESXi IP

    AND when I try to install x 64 2008r2, I get an error:x64.PNG

So I think I have my misconfigured VMWorkstation and it passes I have VT turned on in the BIOS.

The question is how can I afford to pass this info? Or what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Andrew

    Welcome to the community,

you do anything wrong, except for attempts to install a 64-bit as nested guest operating system. VT is not passed by for the virtual machines running in VMware Workstation and virtual ESXi hosts don't 'see' VT if you need an OS 64-bit (for example for vCenter Server), you need to install it directly on VMware Workstation.

  • Code 80070241 in Windows update and "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file" when you try to run any program.

Windows Update has appeared today when we started one of our machines, informing us that there are some installed updates. After reviewing the updates, we clicked on the "Install now" button, and immediately, it failed with the above error code.

I tried to run regedit a reason unrelated, and it came with a dialog box error with "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. »

After researching here and elsewhere on google and did not find anything suitable, put us in the Win7 disk, recovery tools and tried to go back to a previous system restore point (3 days).

The restoration went well, restarted, but the problem persists.

Then, we just tried to install anti-malware software, but when trying to run the installer, we get a different error message indicating 'ShellExecuteEx failed; Code 577 "and then the same message on the verification of the digital signature.

The computer is running fine all yesterday and has worked very well since just after the new year when he has been upgraded to Windows 7. No material changes have been made, and no software changes were made by users in the course of last week.

The computer is an AMD Athlon II X 4 with 4 GB of RAM on a motherboard Asus M4A78-EM, linking a 64 GB SSD, with a 250 GB drive SATA data/programs. GPU is a Nvidia 260, and it has a CD and DVD player as well. It is connected to our router using the gigabit ethernet interface motherboards.

It was under windows 32 - bit XP SP3 up just after the new year. When we put in place the new SSD to replace a hard drive older than we have did a new install of XP (slipstreamed with SP3) and then used the upgrade 32-bit W7 Home premium DVD version to upgrade the system. Since then, the system runs flawlessley.

On the machine is MS office XP, Firefox 3.6.3, AVG 8.5 and a few games such as the Turbine DDO.

The main user account used to try to solve these problems and to run Windows Update and try installing programs is a member of the Administrators group.

Firefox works fine, serve, and he plays the games installed very well also. AVG reports to date, with no problems and has detected no threat.

However, try to view the registry with regedit, or start Viewer event or compmgmt.msc that all do appear the message "cannot verify the digital signature.

    ***************************************************

Can anyone offer an opinion on what might be wrong with this facility please, and how we could do to solve?

Cannot run chkdsk/scandisk as he bought the message "cannot verify the digital signature" etc etc.

This morning, the machine began to behave differently - stop playing back badly, refused to start Device Manager, open Control Panel correctly etc.

So, I reset the BIOS to boot from the CD-ROM, slapped XP SP3 in reinstalled, then upgraded to Win 7 again.

Still have no idea what caused the problem, but it seems to be gone now - reinstalled the same applications, AV / programs anti-malware, games, etc and everything seems to go fine now.

    * shrug *.
