Updating Win 7 32 Bit to Win 7 64 bit with the same product key
Hey,.
I bought a laptop computer where is installed Win 7 Pro 32 Bit. Now, I want to install Win 7 pro 64 bits with the same product key. I have the required software. Is this possible?
Yes, you can use the same product key to install and activate the 64-bit version.
You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.
Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.
http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/
Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Hi all!
I may be big problems with ODI... When I run in designer interfaces, procedures, I see only top directory of my interface without children... And she never stops... Before this problem, I performed two interfaces in parallel.
I think that something is happening with the working repository (this incorrect session are only SNP_SESSION, not in SNP_SESS_TASK, SNP_SESS_TASK_LOG and etc..).
Could you help with this problem...?But the 'got' work performed in the database?
Have you ever tried to delete all the Journal execution until a last that worked?

Can I use 63-bit Win 7 Home base with the same product key that I used for 32 - bit?
1 I have win7 64 bit with licesence version hombasic. And now I use homebasic 32bits and 64bits format and install with the same key... So I jst want to know that this process can damage my computer laptop operating system? or there is no problem whatever I did!.
Original title: Win7
Well, it will damage her, just that you will not run the 64-bit version, which means, if you have more than 4 GB of RAM installed, Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bit will not support it.
You should also check that the manufacturer of your computer is using 32-bit drivers for your computer.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

Win 7 64 bit is the command line 32-bit or 64-bit?
Win 7 64 bit is the command line 32-bit or 64-bit?
Win 7 64 bit is the command line 32-bit or 64-bit?
Hello
There is a 32-bit and 64-bit version of the shell (cmd.exe) and is the same for some of the other main components of the system, such as the Publisher of the registry (regedit.exe).
That the one you use depends on how you start the shell. If you start the shell in one of the normal ways, for example by typing cmd.exe in the Run dialog box type cmd.exe in the start/search box, etc, then you would use the 64-bit version.
To start the 32-bit version of the shell, you must specify the path. For example from the Run dialog box, type C:\Windows\sysWOW64\cmd.exe or the same path in the start/search box.
If you often use the shell, it's a good idea to customize the 32-bit version which makes it easier to see that it is running. I changed the background color of the 32-bit version of a medium blue. In this way there is no doubt which I use.
It is also important to note that each command you use either version are tackling the same version of system files that are involved with this command. For example if you type regedit.exe in each version, you will get the same version of bits of the registry editor.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Windows 7

Hello, thanks for reading and helping me.
I try to play a legitimate, belonging to DVD, but Windows Media Player 12 will not play on my computer Windows 7 Professional. The DVD worked a few days ago, but all of a sudden, I get the following error message:
"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.
I did a lot of research of these forums and on the ' net. Here are the suggested steps I tried without success:
- I tried VLC player. This works. However, rather than use this workaround, I wish to find a solution to my problem WMP/WMC.
- I tried several DVD for years over the last decade. These DVD works on my laptop, also running Windows 7 Professional and the shark 007 codec.
- I uninstalled my Shark 007 codec
- I tried other codecs (K-Lite)
- I assured that the latest drivers are installed on my video card, XFX ATI Radeon 5850
- I tried to uninstall Nero 9
- I tried to use the Windows 7 troubleshooting options:
- > Reading and burning CD, DVD and Blu - ray (no problem)
- > Windows Media Player DVD (no problem)
- > Windows Media Player Settings (detects a problem, wants to restore factory settings, every time, no matter what happens)
- A system restore to a time when the DVD was working did not resolve the issue
- The different links in Microsoft, I found in this forum about this problem do not seem to be useful. There is a link that points to the set-top boxes, but this page just says: "Windows 7 comes with a decoder.
- I assured the latest driver is available by going to "Device Manager", right click on the drive, then click on "update driver software".
- I assured that the latest firmware is installed directly from the manufacturer's website.
- I tried to reset my DRM by renaming the DRM under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows folder and by going to this Web site to upgrade:http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1
- I've uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Media Player 12 and Windows Media Center via the function "functionality in Windows.
I would be very grateful if a Microsoft technology could chime. Thanks for your help!

Original title: MIcro Cookbook 5.5 install problems on Windows 7
When I try to install a recipe program I get this message. This version is not compatible with the version of windows that you are running. Check the system information of computers to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or a or x 64 (64-bit) version of this software and then contact the editor. I knew how to do this job of file transfer to the 32 bits of the 64 folder, but it won't let me install the program. This software is no longer made. The program is Micro Cookbook 5.5
Do not transfer you files x 86 or x 64, that simply do not work and other issues.
The program is designed for Windows 9, and if you have a version of win7 64 bit and the origonal is a 16-bit program, which she may very well, it will not install or run on 64-bit PC, so err msg you see.
If the installation of the drive try this, locate the setup.exe, rt click & Select compatibility and select Windows 9 *.

Cannot run Microsoft games after upgrading Windows 8 Pro
After you have installed Windows 8 Pro I found my old Microsoft games (Solitaire, etc.) in the Windows.old file and used successfully and Favorites to the start menu. The next day (after several Windows updates) they would not start in the start menu or from the executable file in the Windows.old folder. Tried to restore the (only) listed restore point but received a message that it cannot restore. Tried the troubleshooting of compatibility without success. Uninstall the updates and restarted the resolution of compatibility issues, with the same results. Have right click on executable, open properties and set to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode and run as Administrator without success. How can I get my games to run on this POS?

System shows that Casino games II is compatible with the system. Always impossible to get from the program. My system is 64 requires 32 to run.
Hi Donna,.
The CD yourself that run other games or programs - in essence, are CDs recognized beiing and works in general? When you insert the CD, the Windows Explorer recognizes it as being there and you are able to explore the folders and files of the CD? That is the only question when you click Run, it won't work? Are you sure that it can run from the CD? Maybe it should be installed on the hard disk of the computer or installed on the computer instead of clicking on run from CD.
Another option is to contact the manufacturer of Casino II games and see if their technical assistance service or other technical support options can help you with this problem.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

System crashes, requires the difficult start run World Of Warcraft Win 7 64 bit
* Edited for completion 10/29/09
When I run World of Warcraft, my system will lock up and require a difficult start. Sometimes this will happen after only a few minutes, sometimes it will take 1 to 2 hours, but it will always be the case. That's what I've done so far:
I have a clean install of Win 7 64 bit, I have a new installation of the software of the game (World of Warcraft), I have a problem after a clean boot, I have all the latest drivers, tried older drivers, used a driver Sweeper and installed the latest drivers... in short, I did everything what I can do , and I did a lot of research to try to find a solution. * I also tried different compatibility modes, ran the program as an administrator, and ran the program in windowed mode, as well as various combitation of preceding.

I am also under Windows 7 64-bit and WoW. I've not seen any problems with him myself. Have you had this problem in any other place, or is it just for WoW? You run the game to what resolution\level of detail? Are the vents on your own PC and fans are you running properly? This is so a few things to try.
If you only see this in WoW, you play other games? If you do not really play anything else (except perhaps lonely like me) then go download a demo of a graphics intense game. Something like Crysis or Batman Arkham Asylum (just a few suggestions), just try something that will be your tax system. Then run this demo for a while and see what happens. If it crashes with another game then I suggest that consider you the possibility of your system overheating. If it crashes with another game, then remove the computer cover and blow a fan at home if possible. If the lock upwards continues to happen only in WoW then you need to check with their support to see if they are aware of this situation.

Original title: program compatibility Application Applications App Apps game games Legacy Crash crashes Hang hangs
I get this message when you try to run an old MS-DOS - based program in Win-7 Ultimate 64-bit.
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer system information to see whether you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. »
I understand that I am under a 64 bit OS, but is it possible to get this program to run? I was wondering if anyone has tips :)
Hi Bcopeland,
Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.
Based on the information, you are trying to install and use an old ms - dos program based in Windows-7 Ultimate 64-bit.
The problem is a software that was created for Windows 95, 98, and Windows XP has no way to work correctly with an operating system that didn't even exist when the software was written. However, the error message you get normally means that you have a 32-bit software that you are trying to install on a 64-bit system.
You can check the compatibility of the program with Windows 7, in the Compatibility Center.
If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
a. click right on the program.
b. click Properties.
c. click on the tab compatibility.
d. Select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever to use the system, the program was executed successfully.
Here is an article that gives you more information on this:
Make older programs in this version of Windows
If the problem persists, you can get in touch with the software vendor to see for the latest version of the program to use the same system of 64-bit Windows 7.
Hope the helps of information.
If you need assistance in the future to resolve any issues related to Windows, post your query and we will be happy to help you.

How to activate the game on Win 7 (32 bit) port?
I need a driver or a softwere or pack of support that can make my joystick works on Win 7 (32 bit)
Thanks to one who got well help :)...
I doubt that will happen. It has not been supported in Vista, so it will be not supported in Win7. Joysticks and controllers are now all based USB, so I think that you should probably seek new material, rather than constantly seeking a gameport software that would probably never work properly.
