  • Cannot send or receive e-mail using windows mail.

When I try to send or receive emails that I get a security box appear asking me my user name and password. When I typed in the information, the box disappears to reappear a few seconds later. An error message appears - account: 'electronic mail', server: ' e-mail, Protocol: Pop3,Server response:'-Err Authentication failed', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no,ServerError 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92.

I checked all the usual settings and everything looks OK. Under Tools - servers, I made sure 'connect using the secure password' is unchecked. I also uninstalled the AV (AVG) temporarily, but the problem persists. I tried my old laptop and e-mail works fine on this point, so it's certainly a problem with my new PC.

I am at my wits end and would appreciate any help.

    Thank you very much.

  • Error number: 0x800CCC0E in Windows Mail on the attempt to send email following October 2013 automatic Windows update

Immediately following October 10, 2013 Windows Vista update automated - 25 updates is installed on my Toshiba Satellite laptop and HP Pavilion Desktop - cannot send emails from a computer using Windows Mail - they return both the same error message: "failed to connect to server...". "Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10013, error number: 0x800CCC0E".  E-mail can still receive however on both machines.  There is no problem whether the sending of emails minutes before the update took place.  Anyone who has known (and solved) this problem?

Postscript: problem solved - on both my laptop and desktop, I discovered that under Windows Mail > tools > accounts > (my tiscali account) > properties > servers, the entry for the outgoing (SMTP) mail has been entered incorrectly as smpt.tiscali.co.uk.  This change of smtp.tiscali.co.uk solved the problem on both machines.

Windows Mail worked perfectly on both machines immediately before Windows update Oct 10 - so it seems that the update must have corrupted a file to install Windows Mail on my two computers.  Not sure how other users may be affected by this...

Perhaps Microsoft could take a look?

  • I have 3 short videos I tried emailing stuck in Outbox of my iPhone 6. They tried to send more than an hour. I can't delete them, "Change" is not available in the Outbox. How can I get rid of these so mail will stop trying?

I have 3 short videos I tried emailing stuck in Outbox of my iPhone 6. They tried to send more than an hour. I can't delete them, "Change" is not available in the Outbox. How can I get rid of these so mail will stop trying?

Can drag you across the message in the Outbox overview to get the Red delete button? It's been a while since I had paste an email in the Outbox, so I don't remember if that's possible.

IF your account is an IMAP account, try to delete the e-mail on the Mac. Actions sync between devices in IMAP email, so they should be in the Outbox on the server and you should be able to get to them in the Mail from Mac application, use you it, or in a web browser on the server.

IF this is not possible for some reason, try the mail application to the phone reboots and the closing force force the phone and then try again. Press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used. Blow up the Swipe on application brief mail app to close

To force the reboot your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • Cannot send emails in Windows XP

With the help of windows XP cannot send emails that they sit in the out box then this message appears
M, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10051, TPr error number: 0x800CCC0E
Anny we know what to do

Check with your email provider that you are using the correct settings under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties.  Some providers to change the port number for the SMTP Protocol to another value and if you need to check with your email provider.  Make sure also that you don't have your game antivirus to scan e-mail (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and if you use OE, you can try to delete the account, closing and reopeing OE and then add it again (sometimes the parameters get confused and that corrects).

Check also via webmail to ensure that your account has no questions.

  • Cannot SEND emails using Thunderbird

For a few weeks, I was unable to send emails (reception OK yet) using Thunderbird 38.6.0.

I get the error message is, "outgoing server (SMTP) password required.  Enter your password... »

I've NEVER been invited for this before.

I've exhausted all the possibilities regarding the possible passwords.

I'm not aware of anything having changed.

It is possible that it came just after a Thunderbird update / upgrade, can not be sure that if.

I contacted TalkTalk who were indifferent when it became apparent that I can send email from TalkTalk Webmail.  He felt it should be a matter of Thunderbird.  I can't find a way to communicate with Mozilla about this.

A friend suggested try some alternative port probably numbers I have my outgoing server.  This did not help.

I'm not very tech savvy and now feel frustrated.

Any help / suggestions gratefully received.

    Using a MacBook Pro mid-2010.

N.B: I got my whole family to Thunderbird for Mac Mail recently because I had frequent error messages on various devices (mainly on corrupt address books). We were delighted, so I suggest that try you Mac Mail.
