Cannot set a recovery point.

Help! I have to do a system restore, but only listed recovery dates are today. I tried to manually create a date, but the computer seems always just to get back to the current date. What should I do?

If you try to get in trouble after an update, you can try to remove the updates manually:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

But if you're having audio problems, you must download and install the latest audio drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the system. If you need help finding the correct driver for your computer, please provide the system manufacturer and model of your computer.

  • Cannot set a restore point

    I can not create a restore point on my P7 - 1280t (Win 7) office because he has "been disabled by the administrator".  I'm the only person who uses this computer, and does not know how to resolve this...

    I found a way to see what security software, I had on my computer, and indeed, Norton was still there.  I'll do a complete uninstall.

    Meanwhile, someone else in the Group sent me a solution to get control (Administrator rights) so that the restore option was is more shaded.  3 solutions sent (2 required an edit registry that I couldn't match with the screen-grabbing gave me), I used a link and downloaded the software that makes the difficulty for me.

    The problem was really painful, and I spent several hours trying to find a solution (including many internet research), so I appreciate the people in this group who were willing to offer honest advice.

  • Cannot set a specific repository for a machine

    I tried many ways to change/set a specific repository for a specific computer and it always goes back to the original.  I removed from the basic machine (saved restore points) and created a new repository. When I added the rear machine automatically resumed inside the restore points, etc. and back have been started.

    I removed again (guarded restore points), pushed the agent to the machine and selected the new repository and he said the agent on this computer is the same as the agent on this computer and reset it with the changes. Rebooted the machine.  However, he still picked up points of restoration on the core and attached to the old repository.

    I tried a total of 5 different ways to get this machine to see a new repository, but no luck.  The only thing I did is remove the machine & points of restoration out of the nucleus and the Constable and I tried.   Archiving is a joke to say the least and takes 20 hours to around 2.2 to has failed or * the rest of the system (as he did last night).

    I used several different backup systems, but AppAssure is by far the worst, slower and less reliable I've seen.  Even my old band system Veritas has been 100% reliable and I spent less time to manage.

    I'm only protect three machines on it so it can't be that difficult.  Any thoughts?

    Thank you. Russ

    Hi Russ,

    AppAssure has a relationship one between the agent and the repository.  You can have data from an agent in a repository at the same time.  Because Wes pointed out you can follow this KB support.software.dell.com/.../117750 . to migrate from the agent and he gave repo from one to the other.

    There is another option to move an agent to a new repository.  You can change the Unique ID of the Agent and then restore it.  By doing this, the kernel will see it as a new agent and allow you to define any repository on your heart, as is the master repository.  If you take this approach, you can keep the old restore points for the agent in the first repository and have all new backups to go to the new repository. Please note that you can never match these two sets of recovery points together once again, because the kernel identifies as a different agent data.  Then they will be displayed always separately.

    To make this change:

    1. Change the display name of the current agent to something different (usually I just add - old for it)
    2. Stop the agent service
    3. On the agent, remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Agent\AgentId registry key
    4. Start the agent service and the registry key and the subkeys will be regenerated
    5. Run the wizard of protection on the basis of protecting agent and be sure to select the right repository
    6. Delete the former agent of protection and keep the recovery points
    7. You have now - former agents like recovery Points only and agent under protection.  A new base image is taken as there is still no data for this agent, but once the base is taken all subsequent backups should be incremental.

    As for your statement about archiving is a joke, I would need to learn more about your configuration to make a statement. What storage do you use for your storage space?  What speed, the size and the number of disks are used?  What RAID configuration? Is it directly attached, NAS or CIFS? Personally, I always found AppAssure as reliable when repository storage is reliable.  Regarding speed, AppAssure runs how fast on your database server resources are capable. I saw TB of data archived in just a few hours.  I've also seen take days.  It depends on the material used.

  • Cannot create a second set of recovery DVD for Office Pavilion p6-2065uk

    I bought a new computer from office three weeks ago and created a recovery of three DVD set. Unfortunately I just realized they are DVD + RW and that type of shouldn't have been used and are not supported.

    My computer won't let me create another set of recovery DVD. Is that what I can do about it.

    Thanks for the reply DP - K. DVD pack have been very confused because they are marked with the DVD + R, but on the other side, there is a small symbol RW. It would seem that they are not rewritable because files are certainly on the DVD and following the instructions through the hotline telephone Windows7 started to load them so everything looks very good. Thanks again.

  • Cannot delete recovery point

    The rollup of all night for one of our SQL cluster fails when you try to delete what is labeled as an additional recovery point. Version AA is 5.3.7.  This causes the cumulative integer to fail if no other servers to roll upward.  Here is the error message:

    The recovery point ' snapshots of 'Q:\','M:\','F:\','E:\ '. ' on 'XXXX' as of 4/9/2015 23:21:48 ' (time base)' contains a volume image ' incremental 'E:\. ' on 'XXXX' as of 4/9/2015 23:21:48 ' (09/04/2015 time local 23:21:48)' with ID ' fc 7cd9bf6f-1a7d-11e3-93 - 0050569013be:9655 ', which is a duplicate of the image of added volume,' incremental 'E:\. ' on 'XXXX' from 4/9/2015 23:21:48 ' (09/04/2015 time local 23:21:48)' (ID ' fc 7cd9bf6f-1a7d-11e3-93 - 0050569013be:9655')

    There is an another base image that was taken on 13/04/2015, so I would have no problem delete the base image for this recovery point.  Before I do that, I want to ensure that this would not cause any more problems.

    Any suggestions on how to proceed?

    Hi Bobtcny,

    This message "which is a duplicate of the volume added image" indicates in the repository, there are images in double volume.  It's a question that needs to be addressed by AppAssure support team.  I recommend you open a case so that they can study and get the issue squared away.

  • Cannot acess System Recovery Options, need help with the registry. Kindly help.

    Hi, sorry for the long question, but please help.

    To start off the coast, one day out of nowhere, my PC showed a "Login process initialization failed" error As a result, I am able to go pass the stage of "Starting Windows" but can't see the login screen. The way to remedy this problem is to restore windows. Now I'm able to reach recovery system (F8) Options, but it does not allow to login me as "admin". As soon as I select the language and keyboard input mode he asks me user name and password. The strange thing is there are two options for the username "admin" and the other is 'Office' (I did not have any accounts with these names). I read an article on the Dell (my pc manufacturer) website that said to log on as an administrator. But the Recovery Options does not give me access as 'admin' for any password I tried. I tried all the standard passwords and password for my account admin on PC (which has not been named admin btw). I also tried to leave it blank, but Recovery Options points out "the user name or password is incorrect" every time. Now, I tried to find a way to work around and reached here

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/cannot-access-system-recovery-console-invalid/7ff2b01b-9D30-4E10-94a3-bf73a3c5f253?page=1&tab=question&status=AllReplies

    I quote an answer ' I ca, however, access the Recovery Console:
    I found a tweak on the Internet to change the registry for a password is not necessary to enter the Recovery Console. I proved that this tweak works as expected by switching between the registry by default DWORD definition ('0') and the twisted DWORD setting ('1').  When the DWORD value is set to '1' I can access all the functions of the Console recovery, but when the value of the default value of '0' without password allows access to the Recovery Console.  The tweak I used is as follows:

    ---
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\setup\recoveryconsole]
    "securitylevel" = DWORD: 00000001
    "setcommand" = DWORD: 00000000
    ---

    The DEFAULT value"securitylevel" = DWORD: 00000001 '00000000' is (zero).  Note that all tests, as described above has been completed with the default setting for this registry entry.

    While being able to access the recovery with twisted recording Console... »

    Please just help me to implement this tweak. How can I access registry without the need to log in.

    Sorry for these elaborate details, I didn't want to leave anything. Thanks in advance.

    The way to remedy this problem is to restore windows.

    It is correct. To call the system restore, follow these steps:

    1. Use your repair Windows CD to start the computer in Windows Repair Mode. You will not have a password.
    2. Use the system restore to solve your problem.
    3. Plan in advance and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. On behalf of alternatives would easily get around your current situation.

    If you do not have a CD to repair Windows, ask a friend to burn you through the control panel / backup and restore.

  • S52060f Pavilion Slim Line: how create a set of recovery disks is service pack 1 burn on the disc

    Hello

    No problems with one of my desktop windows 7 but have some questions and concerns.   Outside my thin line, I have 2 other computers hp windows 7.  They are p6510T CTO Desk Top clubhouse and Pavilion HPE H8m Desk Top.   I created my own set of recovery for each computer cd.   When I created the recovery discs, I don't remember if my computer came with service pack 1 preinstalled by buying them directly at Hp.     My first question is this.   Do plant purchased hp computers come with service pack 1 already preinstalled.

    Next question.   If they do and the recovery discs that I burned for each service pack 1 image, too, be burned on the disks.   Finally.   Is there a limit to the way in which many times can I use my recovery by computer disks.

    You place your order of recovery disks is not possible that they are discontinued.   I also undertand after reloading windows I can load the service pack 1 back when running a windows update.   But it is easier to have service pack 1 already imaged on any set of recovery disks.   If some can please please point this out.    Thank you.

    If you create recovery discs when you got the computers, you can use them as many times as you want as long as they continue to work.  SP1 would not be included.  I don't think that they were not in what you received initially.  They come through Windows Update, see the center of update and the Service Pack

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/service-packs-Download#sptabs=Win7

    The recovery disc for the p6510t are available at the surgeons of the computer if necessary:

    The model s52060f turns out to be incorrect, please confirm.  The number of HPE H8m is incomplete, shall be read as

    HPE H8m K8300 for example.

    Maybe you should look at the backup to hard disk image using something like Macrium reflect free.  Check it out:

  • Error: The installer cannot set Windows XP required configuration information during the upgrade to Windows XP Home SP3 of Windows XP Pro.

    Original title: OEM Windows XP Home SP3 update XP Pro

    Here is a compilation of the messages from another forum regarding
    My problem:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    I'm trying to upgrade a Windows XP Home Sp3 OEM system to
    Windows XP Pro. (There are a few Pro features
    that are not available in the House I now need: (1) the files offline and
    (2) an add-on available for free to Onenote 2007, Top2onenote, requires a Pro).
    I don't want a clean install, but an upgrade. I bought a Windows XP Pro
    Upgrade CD on Ebay that was Windows XP Pro
    Gold (v2002). I'm sure that's true for the following reasons:

    It has been listed as an upgrade, but the CD is not labeled "Upgrade".
    It seems very authentic with all Microsoft holography.
    He came in the standard package of Windows XP (without box),
    and it was sealed.
    The name of volume for the CD is WXPFPP_EN. The Internet,.
    It is the retail of Windows XP Pro RTM (gold)!

    Here are things I tried initially.

    (1) I tried to upgrade to Pro from the purchased CD. It is immediately
    has refused to upgrade indicating the upgrade OS (Pro) is older than the
    installed OS (home)...

    (2) I read about "slipstreaming". "Slipstreaming" allows to integrate
    a service pack with an earlier version of the operating system. I created a
    upgrade XP Pro SP3 with Nlite slipstreamed CD image (and
    Autostreamer later, but it made no difference) from the purchased CD
    and a file containing SP3.

    After you burn the CD and start the upgrade
    (Windows installation), the upgrade process
    product through "information collection."
    "Dynamic update" and "Preparation of Installation" with
    no problems. My computer restarted and returned to
    "Installation preparation". A progress bar called 'Progress '.
    quickly filled to about 90% and the hanging system
    at that time there for about 15 minutes.
    Then, I got the following error message:

    Setup cannot set the required Windows XP configuration
    information. This indicates an internal Setup error.

    This is where I am stuck. I had to leave the installation at this point.
    My drive is starts raining and I had to restore a backup.

    (3) just for the heck of it, I formatted my hard drive and
    reinstalled my original OEM XP Home SP3 OS (no clean up, no user file).
    I immediately used my XP CD slipstreamed Pro to try one
    upgrade to XP Pro and IT WORKED! I need to find out why the
    properly clean XP Home OS upgraded to XP Pro but my pre-existing
    (with the files users, drivers, etc..) XP Home OS does not level
    successfully to XP Pro.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Another post:

    Yet once, today, I installed a new copy of OEM Windows XP Home Sp3.
    I continue with installation of all the essential and the add-on
    pilots (essentially all my original version). Then, I
    set up a network connection and firewall. With this configuration,.
    I ran the Pro XP slipstreamed SP3 CD. The upgrade to XP Pro
    success (even if the upgrade not configured my graphics
    card properly). I guess my current problem is either the registry,
    the WINDOWS, some user file or parameter file.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Another post:

    I made a file and the backup of the folder C:\Windows folder
    on my system that is pre-existing (OEM XP Home Sp3). I also did a
    separate the backup the State of the 'system' on my pre-existing system.
    These are added my full image backup of her pre-existing
    system a month ago.

    I did a backup image of my system (minimum fees OEM XP Home
    SP3 with all the original installed drivers over a network configured
    connection and a firewall configured). This system will upgrade
    XP Pro with XP Pro SP3 slipstreamed CD successfully.

    Experiment 1:

    I've restored my minimum system. I then restored the C:/Windows folder
    and the State of the pre-existing system backup system. A startup
    has managed (with a minor irritant). I had to activate Windows.
    Then, I tried upgrading the slipstreamed XP Pro processor. He stopped
    at the same place during the upgrade and gave the same error as before:

    Setup cannot set the required configuration information Windows XP.
    This indicates an internal Setup error.

    Experiment 2:

    I've restored my minimum system. I then restored the system state only
    the backup of the pre-existing system. After startup I was asked to
    activate Windows, but answer Yes to the question would be to disconnect me
    the system. I couldn't get connected to try the XP Pro upgrade.

    Experience 3:

    I've restored my minimum system. I then restored only the C:/Windows
    the backup of the pre-existing system folder. Once again, as in experiment 1,
    the upgrade failed at the same place with the same error message.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Before the experiment 3, I hoped that 3 experience would succeed so I
    could conclude that I had a registry problem. I'm not sure now.
    I don't know what to try next. Take the minimum system and reinstalling
    my files of the user is not an option that my hard drive has over 200 GB of
    programs! If I restore all files and folders of my pre-existing
    I would still have backup to restore a system state the reliable (read the registry).
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    Sorry for the length! If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate your responses.

    Thank you

    the cause.

    No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy

  • Windows 7 64 bit damaged, no backup, no repair disc, no set of recovery, no picture,

    My granddaughters computer laptop K53E from ASUS (2010 purchase) with Win7 64 (home?) has stopped working and has not been used for about 2 years.  Not record it, no set of recovery or repair, no image or backup.  He now needs - hard drive was full with games and some viruses.  I've released the space and got rid of the virus.

    Update Windows automatically downloaded around 150 updates - it wouldn't let me select this option to install only some, then they all begin to install, almost done when windows crashed and could not even get a DOS command prompt.  No recovery no worked configuration option.

    I used Win7 64 bit Pro drive my son (came with his HP ProBook) to install Windows and located all ASUS from ASUS.com drivers.  But now I can not activate Windows.  I tried the license key from the sticker from ASUS (for don't Win 7 64 Home / Premium (?)) No dice.  Tried the Win7 Pro 64 of my son disk key and no dice.

    She paid for a license of Windows 7, when she bought the ASUS K53E.  Single MOM at 30, she goes back to the school and broke.

    Is it possible that she can turn it on Windows7, or some other way to get a short operating system to purchase $130?

    Thank you.     n

    You own a poorly installed edition and you used a HP disc reinstall. You must specifically download and reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

    For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

    It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

    Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

    How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

  • my windows 8 did not create a recovery point

    After a 10 hour by my provider, my windows recovery 8 did not create a recovery point for each program or windows update. At present, the protection system is activated, I manually set a daily restore point. Task Scheduler is empty. Can anyone help? I dare not to update the bios or drivers. Thank you

    Try to turn system protection off and turn it back on.  It should create all the necessary tasks and enable services.

    You can also create a script file and it runs on an interval you choose.  Here's the script (thanks to Member of the Forest Brook community for posting this script for us):

    Paste the following code in Notepad.  Save it with a .vbs (not .txt) file and double-click on it (or the calendar) to create a restore point.

    '------------------------------------------------------
    «Create an instant system restore in Windows 7»
    '------------------------------------------------------
    If WScript.Arguments.Count = 0 Then
    Set oShell = CreateObject
    "oShell.ShellExecute"wscript.exe"," ' "_
    & WScript.ScriptFullName & "" "Run", "runas", 1
    On the other
    Set oWshShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")
    oWshShell.Popup 'create a point of SystemRestore. Please wait. », _
    2, 'System restore', 0
    swinmgmts = "winmgmts:\\.\root\default:Systemrestore".
    GetObject (swinmgmts). CreateRestorePoint _
    "Manual Restore Point", 0, 100
    MsgBox "Created System Restore Point", 0, "System Restore".
    End If

  • Animate CC HTML5 Timer Error: ' Eception TypeError: cannot set property 'text' undefined '.

    Guys, I'm stuck for the third day and wonder if anyone can give me an idea what I am doing wrong. I am creating a simple timer in mode CC animate HTML5 Canvas. I found a script javascript timer job and I'm trying to fit my needs.

    I keep getting the error "Eception TypeError: cannot set the property 'text' undefined ' in the Console. For some reason I can't update dynamic text with variable of time. I've highlighted the offensive line in my code Action below.

    Here's all the code of the Action that I have in my file:

    -------------------------------------------------

    var time = 0;

    running of var = 0;

    This.btn_startPause.addEventListener ("click", startPause.bind (this));

    This.btn_reset.addEventListener ("click", reset.bind (this));

    function startPause() {}

    If (running == 0) {}

    running = 1;

    Increment();

    this.startPause.text = "Pause";

    } else {}

    running = 0;

    this.startPause.text = "resume";

    }

    }

    function reset() {}

    running = 0;

    time = 0;

    this.startPause.text = "Start";

    this.timeDisplay.text = "00:00";

    }

    function increment() {}

    If (running == 1) {}

    setTimeout (function () {}

    time ++;

    var minutes = Math.floor (time/10/60);

    var s = Math.floor (time/10% 60);

    If (mn < 10) {}

    min = "0" + min;

    }

    If {(dry < 10)

    seconds = '0' + dry;

    }

    Console.log (min + ":" + seconds);

    this.timeDisplay.text = minutes + ":" + seconds;

    Increment();

    (}, 100);

    }

    }

    -------------------------------------------------

    I downloaded all my files online, so you can see the error by yourself: HTML file; FLA file; and the original file working I am using.

    Can someone point me in the right direction? (I know, it's somewhere in the area of RTFM (Read The friendly Manual))

    Thank you!

    As suggested above, the problem is caused by an incorrect reference to 'this' itself.

    'This' store on the main timeline as a different variable and use this variable for other functions instead of 'this', or

    Replace this.timeDisplay.text by exportRoot.timeDisplay.text

  • hard disk crash (intelligent control error 0303) cannot use the recovery

    I have a hp pavilion dv6-6050 and it crashed suddenly I can't use recovery option, because it cannot read hard drive

    I tried to connect the hard drive to another pc via sata-usb cable and the other pc has detected hard disk read errors

    How do I return the recovery partion so I can use it on a new hard drive

    Hello:

    You will not be able to.  When the disc is dead, it took the recovery with her partition.

    You will need to order a set of recovery discs, and they can only be used if you buy a hard drive of the same size or more large storage capacity than the one who died on you.

  • Cannot set sga_target with db_block_buffers together

    Hello Oracle Community!

    I'm putting a sga_target on my Oracle 10 g R2 server, but it gives me the following message: cannot set with game-to db_block_buffers sga_target
    Which is exactly the impact on disabling the db_block_buffers parameter? Is it better to do everything in the database not of not used?

    Thank you very much!

    This database using SPFILE, how do I delete the db_block_buffer on this subject? The only way by using the command CREATE PFILE FROM SPFILE file? Do I have to stop my database of production if I run it?

    Thank you

    Yes, this is a major change, you will need to bounce back. Probably the way to go would be to create pfile from spfile, copy this edition a safe place away from the pfile, closing and starting with the pfile file. If you made a mistake at this point where it will not come to the top, you can start without the pfile file if you need to, or continue to try to fix the pfile file. When you are up, check that the settings are what you think you did, then create spfile from pfile and bounce. Of course, if performance then goes wacko, you can return the pfile registered until find you out what went wrong.

    You can try with the size you are using, then after having worked for a while, use consultants to refine. Note that with sga_max_size it can vary on platform and configuration that you use the difference between the target and max, so platform determines if you should do them the same thing (see thread vs sga_target sga_max_size ). If they must be the same, you must bounce more later when twist you. Familiarize yourself with the HIST viewpoints that record changes in Auto setting, where they occur.
