Cannot set a static IP address in 3100cn

I recently updated my system to Windows 8, my first mistake.  Before I could still access my printer on my local network by using an assigned IP address.  Not when I want to make ANY type of change to the printer, a login screen is displayed asking for a username and password.  I NEVER put a user name or password for this printer is a problem.  I tried to use the username default admin and 0000 without success.

Then I booted the NVRAM on the printer by default, still no joy!

I tried to use the connection user name and password for the machine - no joy!

Now, I have a printer that I can't handle, and I'm open to ANY suggestions on how to solve this problem.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Hi big Buddha.

Welcome to the community.

Default user name is admin and the password is password. Please try the same thing and if that does not work then you must follow the procedure below to clear the NVRAM on the printer:

Note: This may delete the settings, network and printer stored on the printer page.

Method #1 clear NVRAM (maintenance)

You can restore the original menu default settings by initializing NVRAM. (Does not reset the network or security settings)

1. Press menu

2. press on the 'down' to Configuration and press 'right '.

3. press "down" until Maintenance is displayed and press 'right '.

4. press on the 'down' until Init NVRAM and press 'right '.

The Init NVRAM are you sure? message appears on the operator panel. Press the button "enter" in the Center.

5. wait until you are prompted to restart the printer, and then turn the printer off then on again.

Method #2 clear the NVRAM (subnet)

This will restore the factory default for the network and security settings (by default the user name = admin / default password = password (at least in my case)). Remember that the default network settings are for DHCP.

1. Press menu

2. press on the 'down' to Configuration and press 'right '.

3. press "down" until the network appears and press 'right '.

4. press on the 'down' until Init NVRAM and press 'right '.

The Init NVRAM are you sure? message appears on the operator panel. Press the button "enter" in the Center.

5. wait until you are prompted to restart the printer, and then turn the printer off then on again.

Please complete the steps below and let us know the results of the same so that we can advise you further.

Thanks and greetings

But I wasn't asking questions about a reservation in DHCP I was wondering how to set a static IP address on the TV itself when using the wireless network.

Because you don't want to do it on your router, you must go into your NETWORK settings and wireless to do it on your Android TV... 'Advanced settings' allows you to choose the IP DHCP or static. Once you choose static, you can enter the number that you want to use.

Use the main parameters at the bottom of the home page to see all the options in network. Ability to set the static IP address is here in advanced for each type of connection separately

  • Set a static IP address for the printer

One of the most common steps given when members of the community have printers that will remain not connected is affecting the camera a static IP address. Most of the members to respond to messages will include a document that's going to work on the steps and it is very useful. I found a video which will also show you this process on a printer Photosmart 7510.

It will go well to enter the IP address of the printer in the web browser and access the built-in web server (EWS). Once in SAP, it shows the path to take to set the static IP address for the printer.  I thought it would be a good video to share with the community so that there is assistance available for those of us who are visual learners. Here's the video promised on the static IP address.

I have two laptop computers HP, have all two WIN7, that keep the IP address for my printer 6940dt, each time power to the router failure.  I have a desktop PC connected to a router NetGear and RCA modem connected to Comcast cable internet.  I have also an other desktop computer that connects wireless through the router... but this office never loses the printer IP address and I can't understand why it isn't and my laptop.

I've had fellow at the computer club senior Center tell me that I need to set a static IP address to the laptops to connect.  I don't know how and I need someone to explain in a language I can understand, like real basic.  I searched the internet, but the things that I found were very complicated to understand.

  • HP Deskjet 3050 j610: cannot set a static IP for 3050 j610

I have an old 3050 and downloaded the Windows 8.1 software and installed. My wireless works, and I have added the printer. I can connect to the printer with its current IP * (with the browser): 10.1.1.3 = built-in web server.

    * The INVESTIGATION period that has been allocated to the printer by adding first 10.1.1.3 is (and I can see that displayed on the printer itself, when I press the wireless button).

I found a question and answer here, which indicates that, by entering the information network > Wireless > area IPv4 of the built-in web server, I should be able to set a manual IP address of the printer.

Then, choose manual, entered 10.1.1.200, mask 255.255.255.0, and filled in the gateway and the DNS (as suggested).

    Then clicked on apply.

Red text (errors) suggests that I need the bridge, so I type it (10.1.1.1 is correct) and click on apply.

Subsequently, I get the error messages that are similar to

An error occurred. (wipv4Page-400) Click 'OK' to go back.

The only way that I'm NOT getting this error is the suggest a manual IP address 'button' click, below the section of intellectual property. It works (no error message), but this isn't what I want - do everything on time, it suggests 10.1.1.237, but I veux.200

In frustration, I accepted that IP (le.237), and directions in the forum thread to turn off my modem, turning off the printer, then modem WE power, then printer.

As the modem and printer are a couple of rooms apart, it takes a little time to effect; but I do not see the address IP.237 on the printer - there are still 10.1.1.3

What's wrong? Should I update the firmware of the printer? Is there another way to change the IP address that is in the printer?

None of the utilities downloaded and installed for this printer (versions of Windows 8.1) is useful for me.

Once I have worked on this reset factory = 'restore defaults' and considered that it is a procedure on the LCD of the printer, I got rid of the 10.1.1.1 conflict (with my router IP to host).

AET in removing HP 3050 all installed Windows devices and printers printing devices and ignoring the names of ports it that Windows does not like, I could read the new IP address of the router/Windows gave opportunist of a new printer 3050 (from the LCD screen on the printer).

Then, after doing IE11 forget its compliance with standards and use html bad, I put the static IP I wanted.

    Problem SOLVED.

  • Cannot configure the static IP address for Cisco Touch 8 "

    Hi all

I found that I can not configure the static IP address for Cisco Touch on TC7.0.1 / 7.0.2 with the procedure described below.

    1. upgrade a codec (e.g. SX20 TC6.3 or less) and a touch paired with the codec for TC7.0.2.

    2. after the upgrade, désapparier (with the help of désapparier Touch button) touch and it reboot.

    3. tap on "IP settings."

    4. Select "Manual IP allocation".

    5. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and then press "Save".

Even though we have configured the static IP address with the above procedure, IP allocation remains 'Auto' (= DHCP) and the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway is also empty.

In this situation, the only way to configure the IP address for the Touch is to use the DHCP server.

I guess many users uses the static IP assignment like us, so please fix it as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Best regards

    Hi Kotaro,

It is a known problem in TC7.0.1 and TC7.0.2. The id of the bug is CSCum82147.

To work around the problem, set IP address you want the button before moving on to TC7.0.x.

The bug has been fixed and will be included in the next version of the TC software.

  • Cannot get internet static IP address

Hi, I put several new Win7 PC in an office that replace Win XP PC. I need to use static IP addresses on all of the PCs, as it is required to access the Unix server. Start of the new PC with internet access very well, but when I assign static IP addresses, they have more internet. My IP address, DNS server, gateway, etc. are all correct and identical to what is plugged into the PC XP (except IP address of course). Even if the new PC do not have internet access, they can connect with the Unix server and other PCs on the working group. When I diagnose the problem I get the answer: "your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding." All the XP computers using the static IP address and have the internet very well. Yes, I already tried to clear the DNS cache.

  • Script to set the static Mac address

I have an Infrastructure virtual with about 200 vm with several vNIC and automatic Mac address. I need to assign static Mac for all NICs for and want to perform this operation with a powershell script and a csv input file. I have the entry csv file that looks like this: Vm, portgroup Mac Vm1 00:11:22:33 Vm1, pg1, pg2, 00:11:22:44 Vm2, pg1, 00:11:44:44 (I know the Mac above are not valid) can anyone help with the powershell code to automate the static configuration of mac?  Thanks in advance

    Hello, ITS.

You should be able to use the following to achieve:

    ## import the info from the CSV$colNICInfo = Import-Csv c:\vmNICInfo.csv$colNICInfo | %{ $oSingleNICInfo = $_ ## get the VM, get its NetworkAdapters and for the one whose NetworkName matches that from the CSV, set its MAC address Get-VM $oSingleNICInfo.VMName | Get-NetworkAdapter | ?{$_.NetworkName -eq $oSingleNICInfo.NetwkName} | Set-NetworkAdapter -MacAddress $oSingleNICInfo.MACAddr -Confirm:$false -WhatIf} ## end foreach-object

    A few things to note:

    • I left the '-WhatIf "parameter on the Set-NetworkAdapter portion, so that you can run this first (perhaps with a small sample of game in the CSV file) to check that things look like they will work.  Remove this parameter to set the MAC addresses
    • The code provides that the CSV of this format:
      MACAddr VMName, NetwkName,
      someVM, VLAN128, 00:50:56:00:00:0F
    • The cmdlet Set-NetworkAdapter requires the new MAC address in the range 00:50:56:00:00:00 - 00:50:56:3F:FF:FF.  It's not the range likely to use, VMware only a subset.  Seems to be a limitation of the cmdlet (probably intentional).

Message edited by mattboren: added a note about removing "-WhatIf" to actually set the MAC addresses of the network adapters

  • Static IP address assignment to a device? (An XBox)

I'm trying to set up my XBox One to broadcast remote but I am completely ignorant when it comes to networking and rely the economy on the default settings. There seem to be three main parts to this process described here:

    - Port forwarding (which was explained by DexterJB. (Thank you!)

-Allocating an address static IP to the device (This step)

    - and implementation of dynamic DNS

I was wondering if someone would be willing to walk me through step of assigning a static IP address to a device, which in this case is my XBox One.

I really wanted to know that for a while for other devices, but do not know if it is a thing of router or a computer thing. I'd appreciate any help.

    Hi @varxtis,

    You are welcome!

Instead of setting a static IP address for your XBOX, you can make a reservation address so that the XBOX will have a compatible IP for port forwarding you have done. You can refer to the link below for the steps on how to do it.

  • LaserJet CP3525x: CP3525x a static IP address

I want to set a static IP address for a USB connected CP3525x that would be shared through a router in a homegroup. I already put the address in the Control Panel, but when I print the configuration pages, the IP address shows 0.0.0.0. If I do the ARP - a command, my printer does not show either. What should I do wrong or misunderstanding?

    Hello

0.0.0.0 means yoru pritner is not connected to the network yoru.

A static IP address applies only to connect the pritner with a network connection to a router (wireless or LAN), USB connection on a print server (aka). a USB port on a router) don't offer any direct IP to the printer, but use the router as a bridge and the IP of the router itself should be used.

I suggest ontacting router yout service provider or check its documentation and check how you set up the print server pritner thorugh, but usually through the interface of the router, or using the address of the router with any specific prefix.

By connecting the pritner to your router with a network connection, you can connect with an Ethernet cable for yoru rotuer, not a USB cable. then your printer will be assigned with an IP address and it can be fixed on the network / Jetdirect menu of the printer.

  • Static IP address for printer with a wired connection

My printer (HP7210) is wired connected to my WRT54GL router. 2 computers also have a wired connection, my laptop is connected wireless. All of these computers use the connected printer. 2 computers can only use a static IP address for the printer. How can I set a static IP in my router?

I don't think that the WRT54GL supports static IP with the stock Linksys firmware.

The solution is to assign the static IP address to the printer. Most of the printers on network supports the definition of a static IP address manually. The key is to set the static IP address on the printer out of the range the WRT54GL uses for its DHCP server. Sign in to the administration page of your router and see what addresses the range of IP addresses he uses to hand over the IP address of the client. Usually, Linksys likes to start xxx.xxx.xxx.100 and have leases of 50 to 100 a cancelled so to avoid conflict, you can use any IP in the range of xxx.xxx.xxx.002 through xxx.xxx.xxx.099, or through xxx.xxx.xxx.254 xxx.xxx.xxx.201. After configuring the IP static on the printer, you may need to reconfigure all the print drivers that are already installed on client computers so that they can connect to the new static IP address to the printer.

See the user guide page 140 to learn how to manually change the IP of the HP 7210 printer settings.

For example try using the next/IP subnet mask if your router is configured to use 192.168.1.100 to its DHCP server setting:

Use the IP address of: 192.168.1.202

    Use the subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

    Use the gateway: 192.168.1.1

To change the IP of the control panel settings

    1. press Setup.

    2. press 8and then press 3.

This selects the Network Configuration , and then IP settingsmenu.

    3. press on until Manual appears, then press OK.

    4. change the IP address, and then press OK.

    5. change the subnet maskand then press OK.

    6. change the default gatewayand then press OK.

  • Static IP address does not work

    Hi everyone, small problem.

I put a static IP address (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHQzHCQhHHgup, this is how I did it) and now my WiFi does not work. I tried most of the things at this point, and its getting on my nerves. When I go to my modem config (192.168.0.1) I see the device listed with the IP address has changed, but when I go to any Web site other then my modem config, internet will not work. It also shows that if I ha no WiFi in my task bar thing. I have a static IP address on my Tablet very well and want to do the same with my laptop win8.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello

1 have. what measures you taken to set the static IP address?

    2. don't you get any message/error code when you try to access the internet?

    3. What is the brand and model of the computer network adapter?

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing.

This problem may occur if you have correctly configured the static IP address.

Here are the steps to manually configure the IP address in Windows 8

    a. go to the search box, type ncpa.cpl , and click the icon that appears in the result.
    b. a network connection window opens. In the network connection window, right click on 'connect to the Local network' and select 'properties '.
    c. a Properties window opens. In this window, select "Internet Protocol version 4", and then click on "Properties".
    (d) another new window will be opened. In this window, click on 'use following IP address ". Your IP address, then click 'OK' to save the setting.
    e. in this step click on 'Close' in the Ethernet Properties window. All your network settings will be changed.
    f. now you can see your address IP changed. That open to a command invites as administrator and type ipconfig and press Enter.
    g. your network adapter settings have been changed.

If you are still having problems connecting to the internet, so I would ask you to reset TCP/IP and check if it works.

    Follow these steps:

one) starts at the desktop view.

    (b) open the command prompt, right-click in the corner when the start window appears, select command prompt (admin).

    (c) at the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not specify a path of the directory for the log file, use the following command:
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

    (d) restart the computer.
