  After about 2 hours I still once uninstalled, downloaded again and installed.
  This time it worked perfectly as before.

If so the shift Start iTunes, use the option create and make a new iTunes library called iTunes at the root of the drive, move your media folder in the iTunes folder and then add content to the library.
