• Firefox does not start except in Mode safe

  My in-laws use Firefox on their pc windows 7, but a few days ago it stopped working. I tried all the methods that I can find - disable hardware acceleration (it has no extensions enabled), reinstalled problems firefix, firefox reset - but the only thing that works is to use when windows is in safe mode.

  When I try and run Firefox in normal mode, the rotation icon appears for a few seconds and then more nothing. Don't even start and then crash, Firefox, nothing happens.

  Does anyone have suggestions as to how I could get a few details of what is causing the problem or any other resolution I could try that?

I selected Yes.  In about 30 seconds, I had a window (similar to the command prompt) asking if I wanted to start the computer in the last good known?  He also had options to start in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with networking, and Safe Mode with command prompt.  I first tried to start normally, but without success.  I then tried the other option (several times), none were successful.  I turned off the computer using the power button and then it starts again, but nothing helped.  The four options have failed once again.  The main thing is I'm unable to get the computer started in any Mode, so that I might be able to fix the problem.  I'm afraid I might have to reinstall Windows, once again.  The computer is running Windows XP Home Edition, SP 3.  I use my wife's cell phone to access the forums.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  I usually access SafeMode in this way. Go to made CMD.exe right click and run as administrator. Then type msconfig. When it opens, go to start at the top and then click safe mode. You might be able to do this if you are able to get an installation media for windows8. There is a command-line option when you go to fix your computer. You might be able to do it here because you cannot start windows.
