Cannot switch from start screen

Regardless of how, whenever I try to open an old file or creates a new file, Photoshop flips always return to the start screen.

This is the case if I start on the start screen, Essentials or photograph - a short film of the image and then back to the start screen.

I disabled start screen as defect in general preferences, but it did not help.

I can't use Photoshop in my work at all.

I will be extremely grateful for any help.

Hi Terri,

Sorry to bother. I think this was my mistake. Did not have the screen resolution set, he was flicking off the power.

  • Cannot switch from catalogues

    Hello

I recently installed 10 PES on a mac under OS X 10.6.8 book

I have 2 questions with the Organizer, but I guess that the two might be related:

    (1) I'm not able to create more than one catalog. Or say I can, but no way I can choose them afterwards. Only the last created one gets open for imports. If I create a new catalog, I can not re - open the old one. It is not yet listed as available even though it is present on the disc (I checked). Available catalogues are not present, no way I can try to use the features of "repair" ot "Optimization".

    (2) when the Organizer is started, it starts consumes cycles huge CPU, between 30 and 90%...

Any idea anyone? This looks like a bug to me, but as I can't select same catalogs created, I wonder if this is a known issue?

    Any help is appreciated more.

    Thank you and best regards

    Fred

Title of the message was edited by: Brett N

Subject of the high utilization of the processor it was due to some of the autoanalyzer features as (translated from a french version) "facial recognition" (sorry, it's certainly not the name of the function right in English). I imported quiet a lot of photographs at the same time... This was confirmed by the fact that when only the deactivation, the CPU usage dropped down to normal use.

However if anyone can enlighten me again on the use of the catalogue on mac OS X, it would be great.

    Thanks and greetings

"" Apart authentication flag, for example "t ws" without the quotes, start of the executable vmrun command takes two parameters, the first being 'Vmx file path' and the second being one of the following ' [gui | nogui]. " so I would say that the answer to your question is no.

For example: ws t vmrun start "c:\my VMs\myVM.vmx" gui

I found an option to start a virtual in the background, but nothing about machine indicating a with GUI and full-screen mode. Is this possible?

A solution would be to use something scripted in the first configuration of the VM target .vmx file is checked for the following 3 options and set as and then call vmrun then by the script.

    gui.fullScreenAtPowerOn = 'TRUE '.

    gui.viewModeAtPowerOn = "full screen".

    gui.lastPoweredViewMode = "full screen".

It's much easier to do on a Linux host, even if it can also be done on a Windows host.

  • Windows 8 - start screen tiles are black after waking from sleep

Recently installed Windows 8 Pro x 64. Whenever I have wake my computer from sleep and go to the home screen all the tiles are black, and the upper right corner where it shows my login and my avatar is missing. The rest start screen works as expected, and hovering just mouse over the tiles (or allowing the more alive to receive an update) will have show correctly.

I was running the pre-release of windows 8 without this problem.

My pc is completely up to date with drivers.

    Data sheet:

    I7 920

    Gigabyte ex-58-extreme (bios f12)

2 x nvidia geforce gtx 580 in sli (310.97 driver whql)

Samsung 840 pro 256 GB ssd (windows disk)

    2 x wd caviar black 2 TB

Creative xfi titanium hd (newest driver 3_00_2004)

Between the previews and update windows 8 retail I made a few changes, the only hardware change is the addition of the samsung SSD (previously on a wd raptor drive). The pilot 310.97 nvidia is also new, I was using an older version before.

  • Impossible to update, cannot unlock the drive, may not reach the store, nothing on the start screen

    Symptoms...
    1. After several months of work perfectly, I made a mistake (details below) and attempted to retrieve a previous Restore Point.
    2. the system always starts ok, and some things work.  However...
    3. some applications don't work anymore, for example, Logitech SetPoint.
4 files Explorer remember settings and defaults to each invocation.
    5. various Windows settings have been lost.
    6. the Windows 8 start screen has only 'Start' and my login ID.
    7. I can't update the system or re-install the system.
    8. "change system settings" does absolutely nothing.
    9. I got error messages saying my system disk is locked and I need to unlock it, but I can't do it.  None of my disks is BitLocker on, and I can't find any other meaning of "locked".  The message is "the drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive, and then try again. »
    10. I suspect some programs of Windows 8 system are corrupt or lost, but the OS is clearly still Windows 8 in appearance and behavior.
    What I tried...
1 clean the registry with various cleaners.
    2. checked with Windows Update, the software has been completely updated.
    3. the Windows troubleshooting diagnostic tool has not helped.
    4. the same problems occur in Mode without failure.
    5. always had problems after a clean boot.
6 sfc/scannow (as admin) did not help.
    7. I can't do a simple Refresh or reset because I can't go to the store.
    8. out of desperation, I tried updating to Windows 8.1 Overview, but it doesn't have to say that my system disk is locked.  I couldn't find sort of the 'unlock'  BitLocker is off anyway.
    9. I downloaded the installation of window package 8, created an ISO file and burned a DVD.  Tried to repair and regeneration, but both failed.  Once more, the error message said that my system disk is locked.
    10. I am very reluctant to throw my applications, I have over a hundred installed.  In any case, I'm afraid that if I format the system drive, I won't be able to install Windows 8 in all.
How it all started: I made a mistake...
I installed the Gavotte RamDisk and then tried to delete it, forgetting that I needed to run 'as administrator '.  This does not, without saying why, so I removed with Control Panel etc.  Once I did, things started to go wrong.  Previous restore points did not help, and after floundering about in frustration and growing desperation, I ended up here where I am now.
    The system...
    1 MSI motherboard (Z87 - G43)
    2. 2 x 4 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8)
    3. three SATA drives, each with two partitions
    4 DVD burner
    5 external USB floppy
    6. two analog monitors, one connected via a digital-to-analog converter (powered)
7 keyboard and mouse Logitech wireless
    8. USB printer cable
9 LAN with another PC of Windows 8 that works properly
    10. access to on and old XP laptop
WHAT CAN I DO?  I HIT THE BUFFERS!
    The Solution
    ========
The result was much better than I expected.
If you take the road to Microsoft to fix the system, it offers a 'Refresh' or 'remove all and reinstall '.  These two failed because they require access to Microsoft Store.  However, there is a middle path to fix, as long as you have a product key, which re - install Windows 8 as if it were an 'upgrade '.
The process is described quite well here:
    http://www.TechRepublic.com/blog/Windows-and-Office/quick-tip-download-a-new-copy-of-the-Windows-8-upgrade-ISO/
In summary, download the upgrade of widows 8 components and create a picture ISO of DVD, you must burn it to a DVD.  Then, you use this disk to re - install Windows 8.  The great thing about this is that it offers keep your files and settings.  (However, as it is an 'upgrade' it does not provide the option to install on another partition.)
In my case, it worked much better than I expected.  Most of the Windows settings, I thought were lost forever, have been restored.  It's as if she restored settings that he did not know that there :).  Instead of spending hours putting my system after re-setup, I was able to relax, take an evening away from the PC!
Thanks to the person who responded to my original query.
  • Enter the Recovery manager from the start screen

My HP dv7-4296nr laptop, I have an included recovery partition. But I can't access Recovery Manager in the start screen by pressing F11, when I pussed, it starts only to Windows normally, although in the lower left conner, it displays "F11."... System Recovery '. Only when I activate the recovery partition and restart, I can get into the Recovery Manager. Could someone told me what I have to do to fix this?

    Hello

Before trying the suggestion below, make sure that you have backed up all your personal files, etc.

If you created your set of recovery DVDs, you can use them to reinstall the operating system that this process will also recreate the recovery Partition and so I hope to see the f11 feature.

    Kind regards

  • Qosmio G35: Cannot boot from the recovery disc

I'm in trouble from the screen of my Qosmio G35 showing lines vertical, gel, then a loop on and outside.

I used the Toshiba factory restore disc to reformat and the problem remains, I went further and chose the maquis of the HARD drive option. Bad choices made by this beginner, because now it does not recognize the drive at all, prompting me to "initialize".

Lines remain, but it is not the material of the screen happens during some process that I follow, OK.

A friend more computer over the phone prompted me to go into the BIOS, but we cannot access them. Research on the web, I tried the F12 suggested, but this does not work, just push me through in a screen offering 'Safe Mode' etc.

Any help would be welcome. Thank you

    Hello

Usually the vertical display lines looks like a hardware problem, in my view, it could be related to GPU failure.

In any case, we should start first of all the problem of CD/DVD drive you must check if the disc is properly recognized in the BIOS.

For this, it must Access the BIOS press the ESC (if Toshiba BIOS) or the key F2 (if Phoenix BIOS). Please check these two options because I m not 100% sure what the BIOS the Qosmio G35 uses.

But like I said earlier the issue looks like a malfunction of the graphics card and you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

Best regards & friend good luck

  • Pavilion dv7 hangs on windows start screen

    Hi all

This problem started a few days after I bought this computer in June, and I have tried everything I can think of including the factory restore and nothing has helped. I really don't want to return it because I really like it, but I can't stand this problem starting. I bought this one after I returned a dv6 for a power supply problem, it would not turn on at all after I had it for only a few weeks.

When the laptop is turned on it starts and then freezes on windows start screen. It takes a few other tests of the switch, tool repair, before I can get it to come. The repair tool is useless for this problem. In this process, I also end up with BSOD and stop errors. The error that appears now is 0 X 00009086. I will use no more restore because it isn't helped either.

A computer brand new, not even a month and he has this major problem. I've read other articles published on the dv7 and have not found anything else to try.

    Windows 7 home.

I would appreciate any ideas to try before I end up taking it back too.  Don't bode well for buying another HP again that's for sure.

    Hello

I had already tried the first two options and they did not help.

When I tried the 3rd option gave you the process stopped at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys.  I looked into this and found it to be a problem in Vista too. I have read through the postings for this but haven't tried anything yet.

BSOD Stop error message... 9086 is associated with this start hang up.

I move from the Intel site and ran their audit tool then update the HM65 Chipset. This had no effect on the victory starts page suspended.

I ran sfc and he found no violation of integrity.

I was leaving my laptop because it is easier then trying to make it work again properly now 4-5 tries to make it work. It aggravates really me that I have this problem with a new computer.

    I try next?

Thank you for your help on this.
