Cannot update or reinstall Acrobat reader or Acrobat free trial
Had an error on windows update to acrobat reader. Remove the drive and tried reinstalling. Reinstall failed, "new version already installed. Control Panel displays not only any drive on your computer. I tried the fixes recommended to no success. Help? Windows 7.

I recommend you use the cleanup tool to uninstall the left on the tracks of the version you have installed.

Cannot uninstall or reinstall Adobe Reader
After I upgraded to Windows 10, I could not use the Adobe reader longer... deleted Windows 10 back to 8.1 for Windows and the message I get when tryng tp remove the program is: "the feature you are tryin g to use is on an unavailable network resource.

Cannot update or uninstall Adobe Reader 9 on Windows 7
I get a message to update Adobe Reader, but when I try I get a message:
«Update to uninstall adobe could not open not hkey-local-machinesoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrent\\\ version\run\optionalcomponants\imail»
I also tried to uninstall through Control Panel. Watch it uninstall with a progress bar, then the same error message at the top, and the progress bar goes in the opposite direction until eventually there is no uninstalling Adobe Reader.
Is there another way to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Reader? Are there instructions available somewhere to uninstall Adobe Reader manually include the registry keys that you want to uninstall Adobe Reader 9? I've seen instructions step by step for older versions, but I don't know if those would be the same for later versions such as Adobe Reader 9.
You can try the following.
Remove all traces of drive (and not only the program) of your system using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. It is no longer supported by Microsoft because it can produce problems with Win 7, but you can always download it from places like

Then download the installer of the reader of

and perform a clean installation.

Cannot update or reinstall windows xp... changed my admin powers!
Recently I accidentally changed my administrator account for Power User. Now, I can not upgrade my XP to Vista or even XP Reinstall. Any help? I tried ISO-XP iso editing and WinVista (since I have a MSDN subscription that I em get free) but a popup comes up and says that I must be an administrator to do this. Now im stuck! : ()

Sorry for the lack of details that tell you how to burn the iso. Follow the instructions HERE. If tracking near the disk will be bootable. This thread becomes difficult to follow. I don't know what was your reason to try a USB again. This can be a lot of trouble, even for an experienced technician. I would never recommend this procedure unless you don't have a cd/dvd drive. Even then, I would recommend that you use a reader of cd/dvd external if possible.

I'm not sure you got the answer you are looking for. The 30 day trial starts the first time you launch the software. If the failure of the installation does not interfere with your trial period.

Hi, I used the update all option for the CC2015.
CC erased and after I deleted some of the preferences for the CC (as suggested in the forums)
It is not recognizing my membership and so update as testing applications.

Other users have reported similar problems. My particular case: Running Firefox - date (42.0) - Windows 7 (as so far). Firefox has constantly watch the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in is not up-to-date. I tried to update and reinstalled Acrobat. I just had request Acrobat update which has been a success and also updated to Firefox. Firefox still has reports that Acrobat is obsolete. Firefox reports that the current add-on is 15.9.20069.28170, but clicking on update now button on the Add you check page contains links to a page of Adobe update with the version number 2015.009.20069. When I search (Google) for the latest version, I've reached a page that lists all versions, updates, etc.. The latest version is 2015.009.20069. According to the Panel, the version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed on the computer is 15.009.20077!
As far as I can tell it's working properly, updated regularly. I don't know where the 28170 number comes from or why page Add on reports that Acrobat is out of date, unless the version update of the Acrobat Reader software is not actually update the Add On from Firefox portion.
Any suggestion or comment?
My suggestion is to ignore the information from the website of checker plugin and use the built-in functionality of Adobe to check updates. In your DC of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat DC:
Help menu > check for updates
While the site checker plugin uses data provided by Adobe, there seems to be some discrepancies between the program and the version number of plugin that have not yet been resolved.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?

In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.
