Cannot upgrade windows 7 here since I am of the Iran.

I'm from IRAN,
Unfortunately I can't up grade my Windows laptop here.
What should I do?
How can upgrade windows 7 'home premium' to 'ultimate '?

You will need to purchase a license upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate retail. It will be either mean you need to buy at a local store computere or if you have relatives or friends in Europe, let them buy a copy for you and send it to you.

If you can buy products online, you can probably try to purchase the license yourself:

  • Why is upgrade Windows 10 - not Dell Vostro 3550 on the list of Dell?

I found this list on the Dell site that tells you if they tested a particular model for its ability to be upgraded to Windows 10.   The Dell Vostro 3550 is not on the list of 20 Vostro models, some wearing low model numbers, some superiors.   They will never test it?

If you try to upgrade, windows 10 copies files and then in the 2nd of three main sections of the upgrade (where you have this big circle in the middle of the screen), it just goes to a blank screen and then ceases all activity of the disc, and it becomes well hung.   Of course, now the machine think operating system is win 10 and you cannot return to a recovery point 7 win.  If you lost all of your data and applications and restore the image and then install the windows 7 208 updates and it takes like 8 hours total.

Looks like a similar problem that people with Vostro ranging from win 7 to win 8.   Why not fix it.

Also, I fell into the same rabbit hole. But I realized quickly that it was a video problem and I hung on an alternative to the unit's LCD monitor... worked just fine, there has been able to do the update of bio and play with the drivers.

  • Cannot start Windows Virtual PC host process. Check the log of the events system for more details

    Hello

I am running Win 7 Home Premium 64 and seek to install Windows XP Mode Virtual PC.

I followed the instructions at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx and receive the following:

"Windows Virtual PC. Cannot start Windows Virtual PC host process. Check the log of the events system for more details".

He does not point me to the "system event log", but he leaves me here. Any advice?

    Thank you

    Hello

Ideally, this error message indicates that your processor does not support the against hepatitis a (hardware support for virtualization)function.

    Cause:

Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode are supported only on computers whose CPUs are the HAV feature is enabled. Therefore, if your processor does not support the functionality of HAV or if this feature is disabled, you cannot start the virtual machines in Windows Virtual PC.

To resolve this problem, follow the steps mentioned in the link below

  • Cannot upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7

I want to upgrade to Windows 7 but my computer dosent want to upgrade window xp sp1i have a hp pavilion a510nwhat should I do?

This isn't your fault. Microsoft has dropped the ball on this one.

If you have JUST performed a CLEAN INSTALL of XP and you are at the SP1 level, you can do the following (somewhat tedious):
    Preliminary work:

Download the SP3 installation files (SP2 is not necessary if you already have SP1 or SP1a!), IE8 and Microsoft Security Essentials, which is an effective antivirus/antimalware program. I prefer to keep these (and other useful files) on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)

(You can TOTALLY ignore the message "intended for it professionals"!)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials (for MMS)

    1. physically disconnect from the Internet. Also unplug all unnecessary devices!

    2. temporarily disable the automatic updates. To do this:

Start | Control Panel (switch to Classic view if not already selected). Automatic updates

Select "Turn off automatic updates" and click OK.

    3. install the SP3. Restart TWICE.

    4. switch to IE8. Restart TWICE. (Note: it is important to let IE at the level before the upgrade to SP3 IE6.) After you are in SP3, then you can switch IE6 to IE8).

    5 install MSE.

(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

    6. make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should already be):

Start | Control Panel | Security Center

(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet. Update Antivirus program.)

    7. visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates. Restart each time you are prompted.

    8. reactivate the automatic updates.

In case you're not SP1 and SP1a level (effectively SP0), download the following installation to SP2 at the same time, you do your preliminary work leading up to:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=28

Of course, you install it before installing SP3.

  • Cannot upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate Edition after the HD upgrade

I have an ASUS computer which is about five years old and works fine. It runs only Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1.
The HD has been giving signs which is failing. I bought a new HD and copied the old HD to the biggest news. Everything seems to work fine until I tried to run Windows Update. It does not allow me to update and gives the 8024A 000 error code every time I try to run it. I called ASUS for help and they said
    to contact me Microsoft.

    Thank you

    Harold

I found the solution to this problem. I went to another Windows help forum. It is to reset the Windows Update program. I tried the one here on the Microsoft site, and it did not work. But I tried this one http://wind8apps.com/windows-update-error-code-8024a000/ and the fist solution worked like a charm. He fixed the update and install issues with Powershell 2.0. After that and a certain number of updates, it's updated, Windows Update will update to the latest version. After this release he went and found many updates, I had to install. So be patient, you're in for a little wait.

You happen to have Virtual PC 2007 is installed? If so, you need to uninstall that. Click Start, type: programs and features

    Press enter on your keyboard

See the list of program and make sure that Virtual PC 2007 is uninstalled.

If your intention is to use Windows XP Mode, make sure that the following two files are installed:

    You must install both files:
    1 Windows6. 1 - KB958559 - x 64 or x 86 architecture that you run
Restart the system, and then install:

  • Cannot upgrade Windows 8 on Windows 7 PC HP Pavilion g6-2270dx

I have a problem, I just downgrade my hp pavilion windows7 .because when I format my hp (windows8) cannot format because some files are missing something like that. I need to format because I have a virus, my files on my readers always shortened flash, but when I search on google which was a menghapus virus. so. That's why I downgrade the windows8 in windows7 on hp Pavilion. so, I install the windows 7 (BOOTMode). When I go to hp site, looking for an installer for my mobile, theres no available software/installer for windows 7. It's only for windows 8 and windows 8.1 I need to make windows 8 again to my laptop works well, 2 of my usb ports do not work. need help please )

It seems that if you do not have a recovery media. You can order the HP through this web document recovery media. If you have retrieve media, now would be a good time to use it to find your laptop in its delivered State. After recovery buy a good antivuirus such as ESET or Norton Internet protection solution in order to avoid the same problem of past that has brought here.

The reason that two of your ports are not is likely to be because the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed controller software must be reinstalled. There is no driver software available to do this for Windows 7 on HP support web portal.

  • Cannot upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to professional

I just bought a Satellite L650-1MC and a nice little machine it's too! Tracks of Home Premium 64-bit. I must have professional because I use this machine for work and the first three elements of the software tried to install... easy to store. So far, on XP Pro 32-bit so I want virtual XP on my computer = must have 7 Pro.

So bought a key of the Microsoft UK (£120!) store and tried to upgrade using Windows Anytime Upgrade (was provided by the text of the presentation it would be... on child's play in 10 minutes!) ... but I can't get anywhere I get the following message... «Enter a different upgrade key - upgrade key you have entered is for an edition of Windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade...» "to intervene here, then why the hell Microsoft sell me! " ... Enter a different upgrade key".

I know that I am naïve enough, but would be grateful for any help!

    Thank you very much

    Lindsay

Well, I'm embarrassed to admit I rather "jumped the gun" on this one... having written and published to my request, I thought I'd see if this would help... it did! Turns out that I am now successfully upgraded to Pro.

Sorry if I wasted all the time and... If you are having a similar problem... I recommend that go you for a reboot before panicking... like me!

  • Scanner HP Scanjet 4200C: cannot upgrade Windows XP to Vista

After the migration from Windows XP to Windows Vista I can no longer operate my scanner HP Scanjet 4200 C. I installed the original series of scanner HP 4200C software and plugged the scanner via the USB interface. The software starts up, but cannot find the scanner. After reviewing the HP web page I discovered that HP does not provide an upgrade to Vista; the last update they provide is for XP and not Vista-compatible. Everyone had the same problem and found a solution?

HP has written drivers for their products, not Microsoft.

If HP has said that there are no Vista drivers for your printer model, it has none.

If it will not work with XP drivers on the link above:

You will need to consider buying a Vista Compatible Scanner.

Honestly, it is useless... In late summer, Windows 7 will be eligible for a free upgrade of Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 will be eligible for a free upgrade for Windows 10. If you buy Windows 8.1 now, you pay full price for an operating system you will use only for a couple of months.

Spend money to upgrade your hardware, for example the RAM and possibly install a SSD.

This will make the system runs a lot better when you upgrade to Windows 10. What is the brand and model of your system?

    Hi JackLewington,

This problem can be caused if:

    1. the file system is damaged and cannot be mounted.
    2. you use a standard 40-wire connector cable to connect the UDMA drive to the controller instead of the 80 cable son and 40 pins required.
    3. the basic input/output system (BIOS) settings are configured to force the acceleration of UDMA modes.

Here is an article that addresses this issue. Follow the suggestion given in the article below to resolve this issue:
  • Cannot import Windows Mail 6.0 files after reformatting the hard drive

Desktop HP of my wife had to be reformatted.  It is under Vista Home Premium.  Email is vesion Windows Mail 6.0.  I exported all the personal files in Windows Mail she wanted, through the export feature.  They are stored on a DVD right now.  The problem is that once I have reformatted the hard disk to the original factory conditions, I can't import files or messages.  The import in the Wizzard options is for Windows Mail (with outlook and Express) 7.  When I choose 7 Mail I get the following error message: "no messages are located in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open.  If I navigate to the actual stored email files on the backup DVD I can open individual emails so that they were saved.  What can I do?

It is a bit of extra work, but it will do the job.

    • Copy the files from the DVD to the desktop.
    • Open WinMail and create the folders that you need to match those on the desktop.
    • Open a folder on the desktop and you should see all of the messages as .eml files.
    • Select all, then right click on them. Drag the corresponding folder of WinMail and copy here.

That worked? You can remove the files from office once facts.
