    > I formatted my PC and install XP

No, you cannot use the recovery HARD drive after installing Win XP because looks like you have formatted the HARD drive and the HARD disk partition has been erased.

So you need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk that I hope, you created before you formatted the HARD drive.

  • Re: Tecra M10 - 10Z - cannot find HARD drive recovery

After almost three years of use, I decided to re - install the operating system, because the M10 became very slow.
Now, there's no disc provided (OS is W7 pro 32-bit)... so I did the procedure of F8 startup... but the list of the checkout (after you have entered "repaor PC) ends with"(execute with prompt): no HARD drive recovery! "

The operating system is absolutely original. The only thing I did was to add a partition to store all my data.
Can someone help me understand the situation? I'm the only user if my account is 'administrator' t.
In addition, I do not see the special partition in 'my computer' (never seen) I only have C and E (E is the one I created)...
Thank you much for the help!

I don t have this Tecra and cannot say for sure what the problem is here, but it turns out that Toshiba offers an OS preinstalled with recorded on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery recovery image. On some machines, this recovery image is saved on partition small and invisible.
Everything will be OK until the user changes the structure of the partitions or delete the recorded recovery image.

To avoid this Toshiba recommends creating DVDs which can be used if the user has the situation that your recovery. It would be much better when you have this drive now. I put t know why you didn't create this DVD.

In any case, I assume that the recovery image cannot be found because of the structure of the changed partitions or maybe you did anything in the past that have deleted the recovery image.

Now, all you can do is to install OS own version or one order new recovery image. It can be ordered on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite U400 - cannot find HARD drive recovery option

I'm doing a full recovery from the computer by using the HARD drive recovery procedure, but the problem that I can not find the entrance (to fix your computer) when I press F8 after you restart the computer.

My laptop is: Toshiba Satellite U400-144
    Model: PSU40E - 03P00WAR

    Kindly advice what to do.

    Hello

Normally, you can start the drive HARD recovery function if you press the F8 key to go into the advanced boot menu. After that, select Repair my computer and in the next window, you can choose the option of Toshiba HARD drive recovery.

By the way: which OS you have installed right now? HARD drive recovery is possible on a preinstalled OS to Toshiba!

  • Satellite A300-1J1 - how to use HARD drive recovery files to install Vista again

I've read the threads that already exist, until anyone there sprang key of course, however I don't see the answers to my questions, so I hope someone can help.

Basically my A300 has been regularly overheating and turning off, and after a recent instance of this, I left it disassembled and cleaned the radiator and the surround carefully.

Unfortunately, reassembly, it became clear that Windows would not start, probably due to some problem caused by the most recent power cut or maybe even within my very careful disassembly?

In any case, Vista does not start, in all modes, either standard, in safe mode or in repair mode. As standard, it screens with a message of error UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME blue etc.

Mode of repair, windows bar logo and green rises, but then it just black screens and no more. Slight variation only I had here, it's that sometimes a white cursor rises, but still a black screen. I left the machine 30 minutes where there was a simple delay, but not... nothing happens, it just hangs.

I have no CD of restoration, because I did not create one, but I was able to access all the files via the platform of Knoppix, and everything seems in order, so important HARD drive corruption seems unlikely.

I see records to get Toshiba HDD and also Windows RE, so my question to you people is as follows; Is it possible that I can use these files that are still in tact to get Vista without buying a disc for £ 30 from Toshiba?

My concern is, I don't see why the supposed recovery integrated does not work given that the associated files still seem present and intact on the disk, and I'm reluctant to lose 30 pounds on something, if it is not guaranteed to work in all cases.

What would you recommend I do?
My files are backed up and whatever is left is not important... I just want to restore my Vista more quickly, more simple, the cheapest possible.

    Hey,.

Unfortunately I think that there is nothing you can do because the files are unnecessary if disk HARD recovery doesn't work because you must be able to access the Windows Advanced Boot menu.

I agree with you, it's not good recovery disc HARD Toshiba doesn't work for you, but you must also understand s your fault if you didn't create the recovery disk as mentioned in the user manual. ;)

So either buy you a new recovery disk or you are using a Microsoft Windows disk to reinstall Windows. All drivers and tools that you can download on the page of Toshiba.

  • Satellite A300 - 21 H - cannot start HARD drive recovery

My daughter dropped the laptop. Now, I get a blue screen that says I need to press F8 to start the recovery process. But when I press F8 nothing happens... Any ideas? I would really appreciate any comments.

    > My daughter dropped the phone. Now, I get a blue screen that says I need to press F8 to start the recovery process. But when I > press F8 nothing happens.

According to me, that there is still something wrong with the hard drive after release. You can enter the Bios (f2 at startup) to check if the hard drive recognized. You can see on the main page or startup option.

  • My laptop cannot find HARD drive recovery area

Hello. After that I have divided my HDD (1 TB) in 4 other partitions, I can't use the Recovery Media Creator. I have merged 4 partitions to one, as it was, but I still can't use recovery utility. The recovery partition exists, but not way to start with F8 in the recovery console or create recovery media. Can you tell me what I can do for the laptop to find the recovery partition?

The partition is not a letter assigned and is not hidden. So, why the problem persists?

    See you soon.

    Hello

Problem is that after changing the structure partitions Recovery media creator tool is confused and can't find the backup recovery image. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it.

Only way to get this work must still install recovery image using original Toshiba Recovery DVD disc. After clean installation and portable computer settings factory recovery will be able to find him.

  • Cannot retrieve Satellite L300 using HARD drive recovery option

    Hello

I'm trying to restore to factory settings but have no luck.

I tried pressing F8 when the toshiba logo comes back, it goes to the screen of boot in advance and I select computer repair and it boots to windows. I don't get the recovery options.
I also tried pressing zero when switching on the laptop just rings home.

    What im I doing wrong?

It is a vista running L300-149

As I see all you do is right.
Turn on your laptop and press F8 several times and you will enter the Advanced startup options

The first option should be repair your computer and after two or three steps, you should see The System Recovery Options , and last option there Toshiba recovery.

Have you used this recovery options in the past or you are trying to use it for the first time?

  • Satellite L500-1XL: catering on the day of the purchase using HARD drive recovery

    Is this possible?

I'm trying to restore my laptop to this day of purchase (only a month today). From what I see on the forum, I'm just in a long line of us discovered that the version of our recovery DVD does not match the product we bought. This is why I would like to restore the 64-bit version (without the option out of order price of recovery media that is shockingly overpriced compared the offer from Microsoft to switch to DVD 64-32 / 32-64 bit more shipping costs).

() This brand of righteous 'aid' is subjective, condescending and above all and most relevant to this forum is useless. "I don't understand why you don't save up to 5,000 copies the day of purchase"... etc. We all make mistakes, and if you have done one, you're going to do on new. It's nice when the person we meet at this time is not pointing the finger of judgement)))

    > So, I would restore the 64-bit version (without the option out of order price of recovery media that is shockingly overpriced compared the offer from Microsoft to switch to DVD 64-32 / 32-64 bit more shipping costs).

The laptop came pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit. In addition, you have the recovery disk Toshiba version of Win 7 32 bit.

Please take a look in the user manual.
He says that you can create a recovery in addition to the operating system which was pre-installed disk. means Win 7 64 bit.
There should be a Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator called preinstalled tool. This tool allows to create own 64 bit Windows 7 new recovery disc.
After you create this disk, you can use it to put the laptop in the same State as on the first day of purchase.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L500-1ZC - cannot start HARD drive recovery menu

I need to access the option "Get back to the default software factory with the data of the user", but I have problems at this stage.

I tried power + 0 with no luck, even with the power + f12.
When the boot menu appears, HDD Recovery is not there as an option to select.

I need the exact option above but I have no idea how to get it. I have the option to select "Toshiba HDD Recovery" to the Startup Repair, but it will have this option if I go further in it?

So far I have got up to the screen which warns of an unpacking of the partition system image but don't want to go any further in case this option is not there.

    Can anyone help? :/

I have the option to select "Toshiba HDD Recovery" to the Startup Repair, but it will have this option if I go further in it?

Toshiba HDD recovery redefines the laptop to factory settings! This means that your system partition will be deleted and you will get the same State HARD disc as on the first day of purchase.

Therefore, you must save the date before you run the recovery process.

  • Satellite L670 - the system HARD drive recovery does not start

    Hello together,

I have a problem with my laptop. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, that the laptop came with Win7 Home Premium 32 bit.
Now I want to restore the original Windows Home Premium. On the laptop is a second partition with a folder named "disk HARD recovery.

When I hold the button '0' on start nothing happens. The beginning of doesn´t of system recovery.

Can you help fix the problem.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Dinder

    Hello

This does not work because you have installed Win 7 64 bit as you said here:
    > I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, that the laptop came with Win7 Home Premium 32 bit.
But have you tried also pressing F8-> fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery?
    Try this

Otherwise, drive HARD recovery does not work because the boot manager has been changed or damaged as a result of the new install of Win 7 and this is why you cannot load HARD drive recovery.
That is why it s always recommended to create a recovery disc before changing anything on the HARD drive.

What to tell buddy you need recovery disks. I guess that you have a European model for laptop

You can order the recovery discs here:

  • Satellite P300 - 20 H - what should I do after HARD drive recovery?

    Hello

I just picked up my Satellite P300 - 20 H, using HARD drive recovery,

Any ideas as to what I should do now? Laptop backed up, HDD Recovery wiped and returned the laptop to factory default. What should I do now? I never wiped a laptop or a PC before. I did the restore via the HARD disk and all came back when I got the laptop almost 2 years ago but now I have 108 updates to windows, and my Toshiba Tempro does not work.
I have to update all the drivers on the laptop and if so, how do I know what needs to be updated and how can I do this?

I went to the Toshiba site and he gave me a list of the drivers available for my particular model but I am not sure how much of these driver updates, I need to actually download and update.

If someone could help me it would be really appreciated.
I would be delighted if someone could just explain to me, because I don't know anything about pc / laptop and just want my laptop back to power. So that everything works correctly. I read in the section of the conductors, on toshiba.com that not all windows service packs must be downloaded not all work along the coast Toshiba laptops. So im stuck if I have to download and install updates Windows 108 that are required to be installed also.

Hope someone can help out me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,.

I m wondering about your question: it seems that you have made the recovery of HARD drive but you didn t know what HDD recovery not right?
As you have noticed, it will restore your computer back to factory settings. You have the same settings that you have purchased. It is therefore useful if Windows doesn t start more or you want to reinstall Windows.

You can use your laptop as before: there is no difference. All Windows updates should be installed, that's very important because they are security updates day and you help protect your computer. So, start Windows updates and follow the installation.

Site Web de Toshiba driver updates aren't important, only when you notice problems. If this isn't the case, you can forget the driver updates. ;)

    Hello

You can also retrieve the laptop using HARD drive recovery

The HARD drive recovery process could be launched by pressing F8 when starting the laptop to the top.
Then choose repair my computer, then HARD drive recovery. :)

    It is easy ;)

  • Question about HARD drive recovery

If I use HARD drive recovery it deletes my OS windows 7?

HARD drive recovery deletes already preinstalled Windows 7 and reinstall Windows 7. You have clean the pre-installed OS and absolutely the same State as after the first start of laptop (after unpacking).
You can do it again and again if wished.

  • Equium P300-16 t: I lose the option of using Recovery DVD HARD drive recovery?

Hi sorry to post again but I need some help please.

I posted on September 11, as well, but could someone please tell me if I lose the ability to restore my computer laptop back to factory default, when you press F8, if I do the recovery with the Toshiba Software DVD.

As I said before I can get into safe mode but you cannot start my Vista.

I can't use recovery discs as my laptop came with any disks at all?

So the only option seems to be is it restore to the factory default.

I am writing again, as I need some help please...

    Abbi

    Hi abbi

    I can help you
You know that your recovery disk would fix the laptop back to factory settings.
This means that the whole HARD disk should be formatted and everything should be reinstalled.
The recovery disk also creates the HARD drive recovery partition that allows to recover the laptop from the HARD drive.

You said you didn t get the recovery disks?
Well buddy, I think you didn't read the manual you would find an info that the recovery disk must be created using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator software that is preinstalled on your laptop.
