Satellite L500-1ZC - cannot start HARD drive recovery menu

I need to access the option "Get back to the default software factory with the data of the user", but I have problems at this stage.

I tried power + 0 with no luck, even with the power + f12.
When the boot menu appears, HDD Recovery is not there as an option to select.

I need the exact option above but I have no idea how to get it. I have the option to select "Toshiba HDD Recovery" to the Startup Repair, but it will have this option if I go further in it?

So far I have got up to the screen which warns of an unpacking of the partition system image but don't want to go any further in case this option is not there.

Can anyone help? :/

I have the option to select "Toshiba HDD Recovery" to the Startup Repair, but it will have this option if I go further in it?

Toshiba HDD recovery redefines the laptop to factory settings! This means that your system partition will be deleted and you will get the same State HARD disc as on the first day of purchase.

Therefore, you must save the date before you run the recovery process.

    Hello

Windows 7 was not working properly and I tried to reinstall. However, after the installation, it starts but it does not complete the process and maintains the pc shut down before I could use it. Hello

You are still able to access the start menu in Windows or Ubuntu installation has been removed and the Windows boot loader?
If so, you are not able to start the HARD drive recovery more

Why? It is very easy: even if you are able to access the files, you can start this feature because the original Windows Start menu of the preinstalled Windows system is necessary to start the HARD drive recovery feature.
So in this case, you need the recovery media (USB key) that you created using Toshiba recovery media creator.

Of course, this could work without installed Windows, but there is no guarantee for this.

But why I m telling you this information? You can find everything in your owner's manual ;)

  • Satellite A300 - how to start HARD drive recovery after own OS insatallation

    Hi guys.

    I have a question.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300, which came with Windows Vista.
Normally I have the recovery with the normally pre-installed utility partition.
After that I formatted the system partition, I installed a clean and fresh Windows 7 copy.

    My question is this.
Since the recovery partition does not get soiled with, is there not a way to install the disk recovery utility hard back in recovery of Windows of F8 before the boot options?

Please don't tell me that I need to have the recovery disk.
I already did, I just want to find a solution because it is not that hard for someone who accidentally formatted the system partition and had not created the disks, but the recovery partition. My guess is to do some modifications in the files of the Windows recovery environment that are launched when you use the option to repair my computer at startup, because normally, HARD drive recovery utility appears as one of its tools-options.

The problem is that I don't have to where these files are, maybe (C:\boot?)
Currently, I am trying to see if a facility upgrade of windows 7 on windows vista will keep options for hard drive recovery then maybe I will find what it takes.

    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thank you for your time.

OK, just a hint more, I found what is happening with the recovery environment, and which must be replaced to include more tools...

    > My daughter dropped the phone. Now, I get a blue screen that says I need to press F8 to start the recovery process. But when I > press F8 nothing happens.

According to me, that there is still something wrong with the hard drive after release. You can enter the Bios (f2 at startup) to check if the hard drive recognized. You can see on the main page or startup option.

  • Satellite L655-1HE «Problem of HARD drive recovery»

    Hello

I have the Satellite L655-1HE. I created a "HARD drive recovery" through "create recovery media. On the contrary, CD/DVD, I put it in a USB Flash drive. But when I used it, a mistake was "copy of splitpart or the Canadian Red Cross has failed!" After that, I can't boot my laptop more. There is a message "BOOTMNGR missing." I think I already deleted the operating system in the player. Please help me. How can I fix?

    Hello

If you can, please try to boot again from the USB and run the recovery.

Whatever the problem, if the recovery is unsuccessful, I recommend the following steps:

-buy a set of recovery-store to the wire to https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu
-If you did, and even this game fails to install, take care to check your HARD disk for problems.

    Hope this helps

  • Re: Tecra M10 - 10Z - cannot find HARD drive recovery

After almost three years of use, I decided to re - install the operating system, because the M10 became very slow.
Now, there's no disc provided (OS is W7 pro 32-bit)... so I did the procedure of F8 startup... but the list of the checkout (after you have entered "repaor PC) ends with"(execute with prompt): no HARD drive recovery! "

The operating system is absolutely original. The only thing I did was to add a partition to store all my data.
Can someone help me understand the situation? I'm the only user if my account is 'administrator' t.
In addition, I do not see the special partition in 'my computer' (never seen) I only have C and E (E is the one I created)...
Thank you much for the help!

I don t have this Tecra and cannot say for sure what the problem is here, but it turns out that Toshiba offers an OS preinstalled with recorded on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery recovery image. On some machines, this recovery image is saved on partition small and invisible.
Everything will be OK until the user changes the structure of the partitions or delete the recorded recovery image.

To avoid this Toshiba recommends creating DVDs which can be used if the user has the situation that your recovery. It would be much better when you have this drive now. I put t know why you didn't create this DVD.

In any case, I assume that the recovery image cannot be found because of the structure of the changed partitions or maybe you did anything in the past that have deleted the recovery image.

Now, all you can do is to install OS own version or one order new recovery image. It can be ordered on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Can satellite A300d-16W - I use HARD drive recovery after installing Win XP?

I formatted my PC and installed XP. Can I reinstall Vista using HARD drive recovery?

    > I formatted my PC and install XP

No, you cannot use the recovery HARD drive after installing Win XP because looks like you have formatted the HARD drive and the HARD disk partition has been erased.

So you need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk that I hope, you created before you formatted the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L30-11 - cannot start with drive HARD 750 GB (Sata II)

    Hello world

I want to move to the size of the HARD drive in my laptop satellite L30-11th 120 GB at 750go (seagate momentum).

I mist update BIOS firmware to the latest version (on the Toshiba site: V 3.1).
When I start a press the F2 key at the same time, I can access the BIOS that shows the HARD drive. However, when I try to go further and to boot on the Windows 7 installation disc, nothing happens (although it does not start when I put the original 120 GB HDD).

I have another (also Sata II) 320 GB HARD drive that works well.
So, it doesn't seem to be a problem of Sata, but more a question of size?
Any idea what it could be?
If it's a question of size, how I can fix my pb?

Thank you very much in advance for any help that you could give me

    Re

    Jérôme

In my view, there is compatibility problem. Maybe you should not go over Board with upgrade of the HARD drive.

Buy a HARD drive with a reasonable capacity. 400GO not enough for you?

  • Satellite C872D - lack area of HARD drive recovery

    Hello

When I want to Toshiba Recovery Media Creator allows you to create recovery DVDs I have an error message:

No HDD Recovery area! Toshiba Recovery cannot be enabled.
    What should I do?

    That's big problem now.
Generally each laptop comes with preinstalled operating system contains the original recovery saved on the HARD disk image.

For some reason any pre-installed recovery disc creator Toshiba cannot find and access the recovery image. I don't know why this is happening on your laptop, but it can happen if the recovery image is deleted, moved to another location or structure partitions of HARD drive has been changed.

What can you do now? Nothing. All you can do now is to order the original restore disc and use it to install the original image of recovery designed for your laptop model.

You can order on - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L500 - poor warning of HARD drive

    Hi people

I am a complete dummy when it comes to pc!
I had 2 smart messages indicating that my HARD drive is going to fail?
I managed to check the status on my HARD drive in the monitor and it says 'poor' - how rectify this?

Will it be a case of a new HARD drive?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello
Looks like the HARD drive would not be 100% ok
But it of difficult to say why I recommend to check the health and status of the HARD drive by using a 3rd party software. You can check the Drive Fitness Test software.
It s freeware and you can download this from some different pages.

If some errors would be detected, I would say: it is time for data backup...
It's always a good idead to have a backup in case something goes wrong with the HARD drive... you know...

  • Satellite L500 - lose memory on HARD drive

On Christmas day, I got my Satellite L500 and he has been randomly lose and gain memory since then. Iwould think it was due to memory incorrect readings, but he also seems to be losing memory even when I do a Defrag. I am aware that the 2 games I added take uplots memory, but the two games should only take 10 GB when my system has lost 42 GB.

Please help it scares me to turn on my laptop.

    Hi ross261097,

Your ad is very generally and I put t know what you mean exactly. Of course, if you install programs and different games, they need a lot of disk space and Vista needs at least 15 GB of disk space that I know.

What you can do is to clear the temp files and temporary internet files. So you can save some disk space.

Missing a very important information: preinstalled OS the original that you have with your laptop or you have installed a clean version of Windows?

When you buy the new book it comes with factory settings. If long your laptop has this plant, you will be able to install the recovery image according to instructions with F8 at startup. If you change something that it will no longer work (install own os, partition structure).

In this case you must use the created recovery disc but I assume you didn't create one although it is clearly described in the document s user manuals.

Problem is that you can't do much. Either it works or not. If there is no way to install image recovery I'm afraid you need to order the new Mr. recovery disk you can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
