Cannot view my pictures in Windows - coming souvenir photo gallery upward with a pink screen!

Recently when I go to in my photo folders and try to view an of my my photos or images it is endlessly with a pink full screen with a slight preview of the photo (a bit like a photo negative!) Have you tried to change the color and other levels out a bit of luck. This was never a problem until a week ago. Have just got a new Philips monitor 190SW, it would have something to do with it? Any help or ideas on what could cause this problem or how to fix this would be appreciated.

Hi Dave D

Discovered that the problem was with the new monitor. The problem occurs because an incorrect color profile is used for the device to monitor in color management. When Windows Live Photo Gallery uses the incorrect color profile to manage settings of color for the images, the image may not appear as expected. Note: Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Windows Picture and Fax Viewer does not use color profiles to manage the parameters of color for the images.

I had to do the following (instructions for anyone else having a similar problem). For Windows Vista only.

1. click on START, type color management in the Search box and press ENTER.

2. in the color management dialog box, click to select the use my settings for this device check box.

3. in the list of profiles associated with this device , click the color profile you want to remove and then click RemoveNote if you receive a warning message, click Yes.

4. click close, and then restart the computer.

Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.

El Gringo.

  • Windows Vista does not start upward, with success since the closure complete

    Hello world

I actually had this problem for a long time, but I'm just now to a point where I'm ready to take a lead in fixing it.

I can't identify when it started, but Windows Vista does not start upward, with success of a full stop. He gets to the screen where, in general, the green bars will travel across the screen, but the green bars will not come. The screen looks dim and sits there, with the text of the copyright of Microsoft Corporation. So, after not having on the mound, I have to manually shut down the computer by holding down the power button. When I try to start again, told me to go through the Startup Repair tool. If I jump the repair, I just have to meet the same problem - a computer that will not go beyond the screen "green bar".

So, I do the Startup Repair, and told me what I do for the restoration of the system. Windows starts normally after the restoration.

Don't forget, this happens from a full stop. To remedy this, I just never completely shut down my computer. I left running and back just at the beginning of the day. The computer may start restart, it just may not start with a full stop.

Given the start of repair takes, literally, around 4 or 5 hours of full stops complete, accidental or power outages are a nightmare, I am obliged to wait 5 hours to get access to the computer. Fortunately, I have my laptop.

If someone has encountered this? I saw people talking about the loop of startup repair, but that's not the point, I have. I have yet to see any discussion of my specific problem.

    Thanks in advance!

My collection of "All photos" fills upward with images that aren't mine... most of them look like Microsoft icons.  How can I get rid of them and prevent any more?

Right-click on one of the images icons Microsoft and select "Go to library folder." Check if you have imported inadvertently a system folder or documents. Check the folder in the library 'Files' pane and if it's a subfolder to navigate to the top-level folder. Make sure that it does not contain any image files you want inside LR by checking the names of all the subfolders. If in doubt always select menu library > "Show pictures in subfolders", then in grid mode through the images. Once confirmed you can 'remove' unwanted images from LR by doing a right click on the top-level folder and selecting 'delete '. The files will be deleted from LR, but not your hard drive.

    BAD WINDOWS PHOTO GALLERY!

My Windows Photo Gallery says it cannot open the image because it is used by another program? I'm trying to save some pictures of fotoflexer, he saves but the pic appears blank in the folder when I try to see...

    1. I don'thave open other programs

    2. I can see the other images that are saved on my computer

Can someone help me with this problem? I had no trouble using windows photo gallery it any other time so far...

    Hi MsNesha,

What is the exact message you get?

As the message States, it could be used by fotoflexer. A probability is, after you have changed the images that you would not have saved it in fotoflexer.

Close the fotoflexer application after you save the photos and then try to view the photos edited in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

If the problem persists, you can remove (delete) the photos published of fotoflexer and then make a folder and paste and he discovers via the Windows Photo Gallery.

  • Resources shared on XP in Windows 7 but cannot view shared resources on Windows 7 XP?

Suddenly, my network has gone from wack-o!

I cannot view shared resources (disks, folders) on the 7 machine Windows XP machine, but can view shared resources on Windows 7 machine from XP machine?

    Machine error message Windows 7:
    Windows cannot access \\machine\folder
You are not allowed access to the
\\machine\folder.  Contact your network administrator to request access.

When I created the sharing folders and drives (on both XP machines and 7), the permissions for everyone.  I have the same name of user account on both computers.

    What is going on?

Your general statement "Windows 7 has problems to access shared resources on XP" is incorrect. Yes, you have problems, but I have and none of my clients, amounts of problems to access the resources on XP Windows 7 boxes boxes. If something has changed in your situation, even if you don't think he has. It is very difficult to solve network problems without being on-site, but your error message does not indicate a problem with the username/password accounts, permissions or misconfigured firewall. All I can do is give you my usual network troubleshooting steps and you suggest to go through them. Also given that the problem comes from the XP box, troubleshooting of small network of Hans-Georg Michna MVP might help.

http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm - small troubleshooting network by Hans-Georg Michna

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You don't want to use the residential group unless you have all Windows 7 machines. If you do and you want to use the homegroup, see Windows 7 Help & Support. Otherwise, in sharing advanced:

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, turning on window file sharing and printer as the above will take care of that for you. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

XP - set up Windows to automatically connect (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

    D. Si one or more of the computers on your network are XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

  • Cannot view thumbnails in Explorer, Windows 8

I can't see the thumbnails in Explorer, Windows 8, I have checked the settings and they are correct, is there a patch similar to windows 7?

I did, but still does not... ple help me, I wanaa reall read pdf

    TX

    VikashVivek,

The issue/original post as well as answers related to the re-establishment of the feature to display thumbnails of files instead of file icons.  The answers above solve this 'problem '.

Your post implies that you cannot view the pdf files.  Files with extension '.pdf' are opened by Adobe Reader.  If your problem is that you can't open the pdf files, make sure that install you Adobe Reader.  Most of the websites have links with Adobe.

If Adobe Reader is installed and when you view a list of (or link to) pdf files do not see the icon of Adobe or the thumbnail, try the five steps below.

If you know Adobe Reader is installed, but cannot open a pdf file by double-clicking on the name of the file, try the five steps below.

    1. right click on a pdf file

    2. you should see a dialog box with a bunch of options

3 move the mouse down to 'Open with' and click on it

    4. There will be an option like this 'always open with' box

    5. move the pointer to the Adobe Reader icon and click on it

If, in step 5, you don't see Adobe Reader as an option, then Adobe Reader is not a saved application.  In this case, you will need to install or reinstall.

There is another possibility.  When you try to open a pdf file, if you get a message from Windows saying: you are not allowed to open the file (location), you will need to contact the owner of the system.

    I hope this helps.

  • Other homegroup users cannot see the pictures on Windows Photo 8.1 app

We have a new desktop computer with Windows 8.1 and have trouble getting both me (Administrator) and my husband (another user PC) see all photos in all photo sharing folders. I read all the other assignments. I've restored the library of images with and without pictures, worked both file manager and control panel to verify that all the State say shared and two of us are included in the homegroup.  Libraries appear as files in the home group, but on the side admin (my own) photos of my husband picture library are only pictures in his personal file of photo. My two files contain only the ones I'm trying to make him see.

However, when I view the photos on his side or my app, I don't see is our personal photos and not the other. I don't want to copy the pictures in each of our own files that we both should be able to change and move images. All images must be shared and edited and stored in a spot on the disk.

Troubleshooting-oth sides indicate that everything goes well on both sides. Please help me shoot hard.

    Hello Goodsn,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

I wish to inform you that you can use the file sharing to share things on two computers. The first time that you connect to a network, you can ask if you want to find computers, devices and content on the network and automatically connect to devices such as printers and TVs. turn on this parameter prepares your PC to share files and devices on a network. It automatically sets the firewall and security settings appropriate for the type of network to which you connected. You can disable this option at any time.

I suggest you to run the troubleshooter Homegroup if necessary provided in the following article and other measures.

    The homegroup Windows problems

    Additional information:

As you are also aware that file-sharing is one of the best way to share files and folders between computers that are connected to a home group, work group or domain.

If you want to use file sharing I suggest you follow the steps in the following Microsoft article.

    Share files and folders

You can also try the steps in the following article to share files on the devices connected to the network.

Search for computers, devices and content on your network

You can also try the different steps in the below mentioned tutorial to share files on networked devices.

    Sharing of files and printers

You can see the steps described in the following articles. Although the article discusses Windows 7 but the steps mentioned in the present keep too good for Windows 8 .

    =============================================
Photo Gallery has an exclusive database that includes inches
    and metadata.

Thumbs have been generated when the photos were
actually on your hard drive... and since the photo gallery
been closed because the files have been deleted... the database has been
    not updated.

Photo Gallery reopening has to update the database
and purge the thumbs for photos that are no longer on your hard drive.

Sometimes deleted files can be recovered from the hard drive
but after several months or years have elapsed the chance is next to
Impossible since they are replaced with other files.
