Canon BJC 80 printer prints only with Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 on my laptop and downloaded the new driver for my Canon BJC 80 printer.  The computer seems to recognize the printer, but it does not print.  I do not understand why my printer is listed as the default printer and appear to be installed correctly, but does not print.  My printer works already without problem with XP and Vista.  Is there anything I can do to get the printer to work?  Or my printer won't work with Windows 7?  Thank you.

I have Canon BJC-80, working on Windows 7 Sony Vaio laptop: USB-parallel interface did not work. Bought and installed StarTech 1 Port PCI Express (x 1) basic parallel ExpressCard ($70 +) that supports two-way equipment. Removed the previous installation of BJC - 80 and reinstalled the printer on LPT3 (was on LPT1). Worked perfectly. Hope you have an ExpressCard interface to use; If this isn't the case, maybe there are other bidirectional port LPTx more robust handling solutions. Found this solution of amateur astronomers who were trying to get the old CCD cameras to work via the printer port. They found the USB interface / incomplete and required parallel bidirectional handling. Nice to have this small printer with me on travel now. I hope this helps.
