You ever need connect your device directly to the computer. Just buy a USB card for the type of flash card reader he uses (card readers are not very expensive - a dollar or two places such as Amazon.com) and use instead.

I prefer to do it this way and never connect my camera, even if I can. It is easy to do and do not use the camera battery. I have two of these drives, I keep on my desk at home and the other in my case, computer laptop, for use on a trip.

Hi, I have a Canon PowerShot A590 IS digital camera 8MP.  I have recently upgraded to windows 7.  Where can I find the top dates, (hardware & drivers) & etc so that I can load my pictures on my computer? The camera is about 5 years old & worked fine with windows XP, I installed the disc that came with i but now it will load all the photos. Thanks for your help.

    Hello

It seems that there is no driver for Windows 7. The driver can be included in Windows 7, or you may not need to pilot.

    See the link.

You happen to have a drive internal or external?
If_Yes_you will not have to connect the camera via a USB cable.

The following steps may be worth a visit:

Connect the device to your PC via a USB cable and turn
on the camera... If open windows... Close them.

According to... to... Start / my computer... the camera can be
    listed as a drive letter...

If_yes_right click on the drive letter and select... Explorer or
Open... This should display the directory of the memory card.
You can copy and paste or drag and drop the files from there to a
    folder on your hard drive.

(The same steps work if you have a media player...
When you go to... Start / desktop media slots...
Drive should be listed under... "Removable disk" with a drive
    letter.)

  • Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update Canon EOS 80 d

    Hello

I am trying to import RAW + JPEG images of my new Canon EOS 80 d in Photos. When I try to choose images-> use BRUTE as the original , I get the following error message:

    Cannot switch Original.

Pictures cannot move to the original because the RAW is not supported.

I wonder now if the current version of Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update includes the 80 d EOS, and if not, when it will be updated.

    My version of Photos is:

    Version 1.5 (370.42.0)

    Digital camera RAW 6.18.1 (831)

Digital Camera Support RAW 6181 (207)

    Best,

    Chris

I have not seen the 80 EOS D on the RAW supports list - Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Support of Canon is generally fast so I hope that with the next RAW update

  • Used Canon EOS 40 d 10.1 MP Digital SLR Camera body or new Canon EOS Rebel T3

Who is a better camera? Used camera Canon EOS 40 d DSLR Body 10.1MP or new Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR digital (box)

    You are a pixel-peeper?

If this isn't the case, I doubt that you can see the difference. I guess that's what you're talking about since you did mention the MP of each. The MP of a camera is not the single assessment point as the 40 d is a fine camera better than a rebel.

The 40 d leans more towards the pro series cameras and the Rebel T3 is more towards the amateur line. IMHO, as always.

Should I change a setting in my camera?

It used to work well in iPhotos.  What can I try?

See if you can download the files to a folder on the desktop with the Finder or the transfer of images and try importing from there in the library.  If that works reformat the memory card in the camera, take a few test shots and try to re-import from there.

  • Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT photos are stored at 72 dpi and not 180 dpi. Can I change this?

When I download my photos taken with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT to my computer, I see they are listed as 72 dpi, but when I download pictures from my small pocket cameras Canon (like my Powershot S410 or ELP 300) they are listed as 180 dpi.  It is a function of the cameras, or is it a setting I can change on the rebels to store the photos at 180 dpi?

My second question is: it won't hurt the quality of the photo printed so I manually "resize" the dpi to 180 in a photo program before printing.   The vast majority of my photos are just stereotypes that I print 4 "x 6", but sometimes I get a good picture I like to enlarge. "

As you can see, I know very little about digital photography.  In the past, I have not even noticed that pictures of rebels were at 72 dpi and the others were to 180.

All the information that will inform me on this subject will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.    Mac

If you say that the printer to print a 4 x 6 proof it will not (in general) paid no attention to indications of DPI image.  All shots of my XSi are 72 dpi so I printed several pictures on a dozen different places throughout the city and the DPI setting in the image file is ignored in favor of the resolution of the printer and the size of the image.  In other words, if the printer only 300 DPI then my impression out to 300 DPI.  I've never seen a case where the printer used the DPI setting in the file.  I can't guarantee that it will not happen on some printers, somewhere.

But most people don't print that many images in that a lot of places so I suspect that if you are printing a single image at any place printing 'new' you can determine if it's going to go wrong or you can take the time to set the DPI setting on the image with your image editing software.  I'm not sure of what you use to edit your images, however, two following software packages allow you to adjust the DPI or print resolution:

IrfanView allows to change this setting: http://www.irfanview.com/

GIMP also allows you to modify: http://www.gimp.org/

  • Canon Flash 430EX 11 to go with my Canon EOS camera D 70 with a 18-135mm lens.

I bought a Canon 430EX 11 Flash to go with my Canon EOS camera D 70 with a 18-135mm lens. Flash displays the icon confirming the auto zoom only intermittent and when it isn't, twist the zoom of the camera does not appear on the screen of the flash.  The batteries are charged and the flash is locked on the camera.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question.  The 430EX II has can be put in a mode where it automatically follows the camera zoom (within the limits... 24 mm to 105 mm), but you can ALSO put it in a mode where you manually control the zoom flash.  If it's in the manual control mode, so it won't automatically zoom.

It is important that the 'broad' Panel not in use (if you go out and go back to the bottom of the Panel then flash will go to wide angle and zoom not EVEN if it was in auto mode.)

Press the Zoom button, then use the - / + keys to change the zoom.

When under manual control, there is a black "M" icon that appears the word "Zoom".  If the "M" is not present then it is auto zoom mode.

Finally... When you change the zoom on the camera lens, generally nothing will happen on the flash UNTIL you wake up the system by doing a half - press the shutter button.    When the camera wakes up to the meter and focus... it is when she allows to set the zoom on the flash head.

Think of it this way, Doug: "A" (Auto) mode is the "Windows 8" of photography. Like Windows 8 is designed to make your laptop or desktop display and behave like a cell phone, Auto mode is designed to make a serious device to behave as a point.

  • Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera. I have lost my inner cover to the lens. is there any place I can buy one. I refer to the screw on the one covering the lens inside after the withdrawal of the largest lens. It's hard to explain in typing so I hope you understand that I do not speak of. I inserted a photo of what part I mean. If you see where hand TI score, well there is a CAP that screws on to protect the lens inside. I need this screw on the lid.
