Canon xf105 - multi audio channels in CC import mxf files

Hello

We have recently upgraded to CC in all of our Department, and I am importing filmed on our Canon XF-105 using the MXF wrapper. 5.5, I could simply drag and drop the project in the timeline panel and have two audio channels recorded it. CC, I see that the audio recorded with channel 1 and my clip in this instance has been connected to channel 2. Is this something that is known? Did I miss something about the configuration of the project?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Everything you need to know about the project or files, give me a shout!

See you soon,.

Paul

Many things have changed since 5.5.

You need configure preferences before importing it.

Contained stereo to Mono Audio / default of Audio tracks.

Or change the audio channels of clips in the project window.

  • Importing MXF files in timeline fills all audio channels! CS 5.5

    Hello

just started using a Sony PWM 200, that I imported the files via the media browser in the project. But when I drag them in the timeline, the audio fills all 8 channels [I'll be mixing 5.1].

Is this normal? I was expecting just four...  Can I pass just to import four somehow?  Ideally two, I just recorded sound on both channels, with covers of channels 3 and 4.

  • Import MXF file in the first

    Hello

I use a canon XF100 and first pro CS5 on a Mac Pro.

I would like to know the best workflow, so I can get pictures from the camera, at first, so I can start editing.

    My attempts so far:

1 import the MXF file directly in the first

Result: When a visitor the clip on the timeline, the audio only appears

2 using the XCam transfer to import images and convert to .mov

Result: The audio and video appear on the time line, but the audio is shorter than the video skips and jumps

Your advice and patience is greatly appreciated.

    Maxwell

Canon mxf files import is not broken in 2015.

Copy the entire hard disk map and place the folder CONTENT in a folder of its own video for example.

Then import it via Media Browser.

Or use the XF utility to export mxf files so unique.

  • How to import MXF files in CS4 first?

The MXF file comes from a canon XF305 camcorder that I borrowed.

I can play MXF files in VLC Player, but when to drop the mxf in first cs4 file, it gives an error and does not play.

Y at - it a free solution to make it work?

The platform is 8.1 64-bit windows.

If I use ffmpeg demux the file into m2v file, I can then use premiere cs4.

    ffmpeg-i input.mxf - vcodec copy output.m2v

I don't know why it does not work as an MXF file.

  • Audio lost when you import a file mpeg in 1.0 video

I have an old version of first elements (1.0), but it worked fine in the edition together video clips and pictures to make movies.

Some time ago I had a few VHS transferred in a digital file, and what they gave me is a big file MPEG (2 GB).

I want to edit this file into segments to put on a Web site, but when I import the MPEG file in first elements 1.0 audio

is lost. File MPEG play fine on my computer...

I tried all the options within the program, but without success.

Normally when I make films I use AVI files to the format, so maybe there is a problem with the MPEG format?

    Any suggestions?

An MPEG can be converted to AVI?

Yes, sometimes a few flavors of MPEG can give you funny results (i.e. no audio or audio synchronized).

MPEG Streamclip and "Prism" are free utilities that can convert your MPEG in a DV - AVI. The frequently asked questions to the right of this forum tell you how to use them.

  • Help! No sound when importing MXF files

I need to change several videos to work, and the last sequence is on files, .mxf no matter how hard I try, I can't import them with audio tracks.

When I play the clips in my media browser, I can hear the audio, but when I try and import on the timeline, it is only video.

By a stroke of luck, the audio accompanied the video sometimes when I restart the first, but it has not happened since.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm losing my mind.

I use a Windows PC and first 2015 CC

Thanks for the reply! Yes A1 was also blue, but it still didn't work.

My solution was click and drag the clip on the timeline (where he worked as a first step), then close and reopen the first and repeat for all the other clips.

This method worked well enough so I could finish the project in time.

However, it is a very strange problem that really needs a fix... Many cameras use this format now!

  • How to solve the problem with slow import mxf files exported from first cc?

    Hello!

I'm working on the first update to 7.2, on 64 bit, windows 7, and I have a problem with the import of the MXF op1a (IMX 30 PAL) files that I exported from first.

MXF Import blocks especially first, but when he's not, it takes a long time to import (10-15 min).

I tried editing ContributeQ but again, it hangs / takes a long time and I can see only a black screen.

I installed a new copy of windows on this computer with everything clean, but it doesn't seem to work.

Is there a software patch or way to go around for this problem?

Whenever you have trouble with this, reduce the number of influences of others on your system.  In this case, delete TotalCode and see if it behaves better.  If it does not remove the device from BlackMagic and uninstall the drivers.  If one of these steps will improve performance, check with the third-party manufacturers.  There may be a setting or an update is necessary so that your system works correctly.

  • What is the best way to import and work with mxf files in first CC2015?

I am trying to find the best way to import MXF files in first, like many people there seem to be issues.

I have already imported using first CS6 but I got cut short clips and audio dropouts. I decided to start over with CC2015 first, but this time I'd like to do things and once. Should I use prelude first?

    I run on a Mac Pro (mid-2010)

OS X El Capitan version 10.11.1

All good, got sorted. I use the prelude.

    Thank you!

  • Importer MXF Failed to istall

I get irregular errors on PP recently. I'll need to document the errors the next time they appear, but it blocks PP whenever it happens, and I don't know how to find the error log. I worked on the same system for a year with Adobe CC without major problems. However, last week I was impossible to import MXF files to my computer for the first time. I tried stopping and restarting of PP without luck. I restarted the computer and still had the same problem. Also tried to import into AE with the same problem. I searched forums without success and tried to start again the PP and it worked only. Today, the same thing except that it was a project existing with MXF files. I tried to launch the project and had several messages and error MS C++ lower-right corner stating something to the effect of the importer MXF cannot install front white screened and crashed to send info to MS. My system is as follows:

    Intel Core i7 5960

    32 GB of Ram

    Win 10

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX770

Any suggestions, advice and insight is appreciated. THX

I think I have solved my problem. The error was "a low-level exception occurred in importermxf (importer). I've updated my graphics driver (NVidia) and the question did not return in three days. Hoping that solved the problem!

Do you mean during the import process?

There is no FCP X parameter to change the way THAT DV is imported.

I used to hear the audio import with Sony cameras but Canon may be a different story.

If the imported files are OK, then it can be a thing of Protocol firewire Canon.

When you go to interpret, I chose multichannel, then specified 4 tracks.

  • Multi-cam sequence only ONE AUDIO CHANNEL LEFT, Adobe Premiere Pro CC TIMES.

    Hi all

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I have several hours of short clips (1-3 min) of an event of 3 days I am organizing and preparation for editing.  I wasn't on the shooting, but the cameras record the external microphone (main audio) on one channel and the internal microphone (audio reference) on another channel; but it varies on what channel they recored reference main vs.  For the clips where someone talking directly to the camera and I know that I will not need the audio reference, I went and made "audio editing" and mixed the "stereo" until "mono" and then selected the channel with the "audio main' to be source channel.   It works now great when the person talks it comes in evenly on the left and right speakers instead of being unbalanced.

However, when I then try to take 2 of these clips which were mixed at the bottom of 'mono' and create a new multi-cam sequence, new sequence plays constantly audio only from the left lane.  I tried many configurations where do the multi-cam of sequence (automatic, mono, stereo, Adaptive). Nothing works - he ONLY plays the left side.  I also tried to change the audio channels after I do the new sequence and put "Channel 1" in both channels left and right.  Nothing, he still plays on the left side.

Any idea on how to get my mono source channel to play regularly in the left and right channels instead of only in the left?  Also, if I try to Pan right in the effects window, it's just quieter, not balanced.

    Thanks for the help!

Found a solution here multicamera Source Audio sequence of 1 speaker instead of two? HELP Please!

CTRL + N or command + N for a new sequence, select your preset (in my case DVProHD > 1080i) and make sure the audio channels are all mono. Then copy and paste all your clips into the new empty sequence.

When I upgraded from Premiere Pro CC 2014 and 2015, all my sequences blocking started playing mono audio through the left speaker only. I'd just create a new multi camera sequence or if I opened one I had created in 2014.

  • Canon MXF files and Audio problems

I recently bought a Canon XF-300 camcorder to use my CS5 Premiere Pro system.

I guess that the XF-300 would create a huge video file until I turned off the machine.

Instead, he represents several in MXF 2 GB files and every time I have to start/stop the camcorder a new video file is created.

And what makes it worse, is that it puts each MXF file in a folder.

When I turn a long clip there are problems with editing several clip 2 GB as opposed to a clip of 13 GB that I used to get with tape.

I use the XF utility to only transfer the video files from my CF card on my hard drive.

Then I perfer to use Pr to concatinate MXF separate files into a single file MP2 wasting a lot of time.

Is there something I could do with the camcorder of the XF utility to join a large file?

Also when I put a MXF file a sequence Pr stero audio track that I'm used from a band splits into 2 separate tracks.

One seems to be mono left and the other right mono.

When I combine them into an MP2 file, I get a mono soundtrack.

How do I get stero sound track?

    Francis,

    The manual I have:

Merge all Clips = merges the flow MXF files in each clip and also merges multiple files selected in a single file.

Merger of each Clip = merges the flow MXF files in each clip but retains several selected files in a different way.

With regard to the problem of audio:

In Premiere Pro CS6, you can set the Audio tracks by default for your stereo import instead of double mono/multi-channel mono media files. I don't know if it was an option in CS5, but I think that it is not.

In CS6 you do the following:

    1. edit > Preferences > Audio ("' Premiere Pro > Preferences > Audio" Mac ")

2 under default Audio tracks, change multi-channel Mono Media 'Use the file' in 'Stereo '.

    3 click OK.

Note that this will not affect already imported clips. This setting affects preferably clip when you import.

  • Too many audio channels...

    Hello

I need help to understand something.

I have the problem with Canon XF images described in this thread:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1009064?TSTART=0

Gluttony I utility uthe Canon FX to create merged clips in MXF and nvert those XDCAM HD 50 Mbps 50i 4.2.2 vi SOUL in CS5.5

When I import the output file in CS6, I get 8 audio channels, 4 for each L & R. My settings are standard for the preset:

    Untitled.png

I can't change the audiosettings to export, but maybe I could change something in the importation of the ORGANISM CS6?

    I want just a single L & R a track or 1 stereo track, including two L & R.

    Thank you.

    / Ulf

Why convert to beginning with the media? Are you aware of what you convert MPEG2 to MPEG2 camera you get when you create the new MXF file? (XDCAM HD = MPEG2)

I would not ever re-compress/convert the already-in-camera-compressed MPEG2 MPEG2 compressed for editing and have then ending up in Let's say DVD MPEG2 or H.264. You lose a generation and I would not lose it by re-encoding in MPEG2 since, IMO, re-encodong MPEG2 MPEG2 are to be avoided. (MPEG2 MPEG2 = quality degrades too) If you want to re - encode images I would use another DNxHD/CineForm/Lagarith codec. (Pick your favorite)

You can use the Canon XF Utility MXF files in CS6. (The MXF files are just copied from the original folder structure, so without re-encoding is done.)

As far as I KNOW, problems with video RIP will disappear using the MXF files that you get from XF Utility. If the tear is always present, close Pr and delete all Cache files. Open Pr and Generating Peak file to finish.

AFAIK 8 audio channels is common in the MXF OP1a according to SMPTE D10.

  • Audio channels

Why are both my left and right audio channels on a track?  What does do?  I wouldn't have to deal with each item before I throw it on the time line.  What is anyone else annoyed by this and they plan change to the video editing can be done in the correct way?

You can change the audio format on sequence by sequence:

Or you can select a default value for different types of clips which applies to importation:
