Capacity wireless off?

Hello

I have a Pavilion G6 and it works on Windows 7 (64-bit, I think). About 3 months ago the light on my button f12 (aka how to enable or disable the wireless feature) is out, but I thought nothing of him, because the button turned my ability again wireless on and outside. Last month I spilled water on the keyboard and buttons on the right side broken. I don't know if f12 was one of them, but I don't think it was, although I can't be sure.

The other day I was on my laptop and I had to write something then I leaned on my keyboard for a minute or two. When I lifted my hands, I had brought a lot of windows to hit the keys and my wireless capability is turned off. When I tried to turn it back on with the key, it turns.

So, what I mean is: If the f12 key did not work because of the water, how to disable ability? Is there another way? I see no switch around my laptop computer and held in fn does nothing. F1 through f11 work very well, it's not that the function keys are disabled. I use my portable friend to write this because I'm desperate seriously. If all else fails, I have backup my files and boot my laptop to its factory setting. Help is appreciated!

Hey, Pavilion,.

Welcome.  I'm sorry that you have more adventures...

Try to use the connection manager to get it going again.  Once installed and configured, you can make the connection in the task bar Manager to manage the wireless market / stop.

I adjusted has upgraded to Windows 10 (x 64). Since doing the without wireless is OFF and I can't turn it on (Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter). The F12 button stays amber (just pressing and disable / turn off the airplane mode). Wired Ethernet card (Realtek) seems to work OK.

  • Tecra M11 - capacity wireless turns off by itself

I have a Tecra M11 who likes to turn off its wireless capability. It will sometimes go days without doing it, but for example today it did not less than 3 times. He's going to lose contact with my wireless network and when I go to reconnect I see that because the wireless feature is turned off there is no network available. When windows (windows 7 64 bit) allows to solve the problem, he tells me to "turn wireless capability" and if I jump it offers that I plug in an ethernet cable. I checked the physical switch on the front of the computer and also WiFi accessible by the Fn keys toggle switch, the two have no effect on the conviction of my computer that wireless capability is turned off.

My old tecra M9 has also done this, but I didn't expect my other (one month) to do the same thing. I can fix this problem by restarting the computer, but I'm looking for a permanent solution.

    Thanks in advance

I think that this is not a problem of WiFi for laptop, but I think that it s related to the WLan router because you had the same problem with Tecra M9.
I recommend updating the firmware on the router first. In addition, you must reconfigure the router again. You will need to play with a different option like the use of different channels of WLan, Wlan encryption, etc.

  • dv2745se - problem! laptop starts with wireless off

I've read other discussions about similar issues, but I'm not having the same problem as most of the people. When Windows starts my wireless light stays orange/orange, even if it is on. However, I can turn off my wireless manually and then turn it to in turn blue and knit. It is still listed in devices when I start my computer.

The strange thing is when I restart my computer, Windows starts with the wireless work. However, the problem occurs only when the laptop is completely off and turned on and then later. I emailed HP Technical Support about the problem, but the steps that they have me pass by did not help.

    mgriffin,

This may sound silly but often leave when people open their notebooks they are accidentally dragging the wireless switch.

This is not the case with you is?

  • Satellite L755 - 1 CD: Realtek card wireless off using LINUX

    Hi all
I have a Toshiba L755 - 1 CD Windows 7, with a Dual Boot Linux. Since yesterday, without explanation, my card (Realtek RTL8188CE) WiFi is disabled at startup.

When I boot on windows, it is shown as enabled (in the network adapters Control Panel), but I can't find any wireless network. I have to turn it on and turn it on (Fn + F8 using twice as much) so it can walk.
Problem: Fn keys is not supported under linux, and as long as computer SCIENCE student, I have to be able to use my linux for my work.

I tried a full re-installation using my recovery DVDs and does not install Linux, but I still have the same question. So I think the problem might be in the BIOS.
I don't see any option in the BIOS or the HWSetup tool that could solve my problem.
I noticed that even after you restart the map using Fn + F8, the laptop wireless LED stays off completely.

I've got 3.50 version of BIOS, version of the realtek 1005.12.105.2011 driver.

If you see what is the problem, I would be VERY happy that a bit really urgent...

    Thank you!

    Nicolas

The question is strange and I don't understand why all this happens.
I have two Toshiba laptops and I didn t notice such problem, especially if the laptop wakes fashion "Eve".

Have you tried to update the BIOS to the latest version?

  • Wireless off - how to activate it?

I have a HP G60 Model 247 CL laptop.  I recently had it to be rebuilt.  At some point, my wifi has been disabled.  When I came back, my router wouldn't work.  So I used my laptop connected directly to a modem.

I just bought a Kindle Paperwhite, and when I try to save it online, it tells me that I have connected to the Wi - Fi network, but unable to internet.

Then, I got a message on the computer that says Wi - Fi connection not possible because it was not enabled.

There is no wi - fi button on this computer that I can find.  How can I reactivate my wi - fi and use my router for my laptop can be used elsewhere in the House.

What do you mean rebuilt? Was it a complete tear down or install software? Have you checked to see if the wireless cable has been connected to the wifi card? On the ontop was black band of the keyboard anykinda iconic representation of wifi or other icons out there? This would be where I think that they would switch to enable and disable wifi and audio selection but also the keyboard it should be lables blue "FN" which will have a wifi and turn off the option that could be considered.

  • Compaq/HP CQC58 Wireless off & on, tried many hours of troubleshooting

Hello, I have Virgin broadband, there are 2 phones, a Sony & a computer Toshiba laptop works perfectly on it, without ever losing signal/connection.

I have a Compaq/HP CQC58 for the last 2 months and have had a my brain mullered trying and failing to correct his connection to stop problem.

If I keep it in the same room as the router, no problem. If I take it in the next room, divided by a wall, sometimes it is ok, but if I turn or leave for awhile when I come back it disconnected.

I have to resume near the router, wait for the connection and go back to the other room, he can then keep the connection, or perhaps used by the iI of time out at the end of the other room, only 7 meters.

Sometimes if iv got a connection in the next room, when I turn off, come back later, the next day, it will connect completely and then the next time or if this is the case, he will lose just connection after a while anyway.

As mentioned, I can take just outside or upstairs everything than the other phones, and they are always happy and keep the connection.

I've done so many things people recommend, like having a devices, click on realtech sounds or something else, and disable reactivate, update driver etc etc. Virgin changed the frequency or sometimes many things adjusted remote on the laptop, but it just goes back to offline wireless, and they say oh it takes the machine then, and common sense tells that it is. His windows 8 and no more than 14 months.

I appreciate that someone who can give me steps to remedy this, but may I respectfully point out I need baby totally steps and language, that I often get so far with the instructions and then face something that's no score then all about sound and I can't move forward.

    Thank you in advance,

    Paul.

    Hello!

Just a thought... have you tried to change the power settings for wifi adapter? Many of the time, he's coming back to 'power saving mode' after a driver update...

You have a laptop HP or Compaq? If so, check your BIOS settings. Some portable HP/Compaq have a setting in the BIOS for LAN/WAN switching. It's the Wireless Assistant HP support on my HP laptop.

  • Capacity wireless suddenly stopped working after an update of Windows Vista.

Feature WiFi suddenly stopped working after a windows vista updated.  Wireless switch is engaged, but stays yellow that messeges troubleshooting all say computer does not detect wireless devices.  It's as if someone pulled the unit and the antenna of the portable computer.  I also downloaded the wireless drivers and Setup several times without success.  Wireless device appears in the Device Manager page.  The only thing that is showing and work is the cable which is how I can download the drivers and appear on this forum.  Is it possible that the wireless device is broken?  All applicable lights are lit on the networking modem, no signal is detected on the computer, I have concluded that the wireless on the laptop is just inop.  Either way, I have a Compaq Presario F700 laptop.  All the options out there?  Thank you

original title: can't find the wireless device

    Hello again, Kathy,

More specific instruction, I can give to check settings in the BIOS of your system is to search for a list of devices that installed your laptop. There are only two options for each device, activate them and deactivate them.
Look for something listed as network radio or wireless card and make sure that it is set to enable.
The option that you network adapter found can also control the wireless adapter, but it can control only the plug adapter (Ethernet) network.
A simpler solution, if you have not already tried it it is the system restore in Windows as mentioned by Kiran in a previous answer:
WARNING: Changing the BIOS / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can resolved e. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Some models are delivered with Win8. Can you please send the exact model number? I just want to check the specification.

Anyway, if you have Win7 when you press F12 can you see at the top of the screen flash cards?
When you press FN + F12 you see option ON / OFF for the WLAN?

Somehow, this question is strange to me. When you use the laptop with the settings, it should work properly.
