CAPS LOCK CAUSING PROBLEMS

Since about a week ago, if my caps lock is on and I turn it off it... whatever window I'm flashes for a quick second and I can type is no longer. Almost as if I clicked outside the window. For example, inside Windows Live email project or save dialog inside slot with Photoshop CS6. I then have to re - click inside where I type and then it works. If I'm in Windows Explorer and trying to rename a file or folder and I hit Caps Lock, it will cease to change my name and hit me back or he works me up one level. In Photoshop, rename layers did the same thing. If I enable caps lock shift or turn it off it stops the edit as if I hit Enter.

What gives? Makes me crazy!

Hello

Since there is no problem when using the on-screen keyboard, then I recommend you to contact the manufacturer of keyboard for better assistance.

  • "CAPS LOCK" key causes the delay

Whenever I use the "caps lock" key, a pop up box appears at the bottom right of my screen and I can not continue typing until the box lowers, which always takes at least a total of five seconds.  This creates an intolerable interruption by typing.  How can I get rid of this pop up box?

What the popup box to say EXACTLY (including all codes)?  It happens only with this key?

Without knowing what the pop-up box, it is difficult to provide targeted - suggestions, but here are two that might help account given what you have provided.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

Maybe that's a problem with the keyboard driver, software, or firmware.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers, software or firmware (and you need to do for the keyboard), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

For anything else (if the above does not solve the problem), we need to know the information in the pop-up box.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Question of Caps Lock Notification? Vista problem? or Dell Inspiron Issue?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum; but I don't know who it is.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Vista Home Premium 64 Bit.

The question is when ever I type in another Forum, such as this one; or an email or even a Word document and I activate the "Caps" lock - it will get the sentence I type and I have the mouse to where I was.

I know that I get a notification "on the screen", but what the hell is happening? It shouldn't start me the sentence when I type.

I searched for hours and finally comes to join this community. So is it a Vista problem or a problem of Dell?

    Thanks in advance!

You have Dell Quickset, installed on your system? Have you looked inside for a parameter disable the notification?

EDIT: According to this thread, it is certainly a matter of quick adjustment... They solved by uninstalling QuickSet, but there may be a QuickSet setting to disable the notification...

  • Libretto U100 - Alternative to the lack of light 'Caps Lock'

Strange that the U100 has no witness "Caps Lock". The small keyboard meant that, at first, I was still pressing caps lock shift when I tried to press the letter "a". Now I'm used to, I can type on it almost as fast as on my main laptop (Tecra S1) is not a big problem. However, a Caps Lock warning is always useful.

    I found a nice solution to http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:8YCkDdFl2TEJ:www.skarbek.com.au/chapter1.pdf+background+processes+causing+intermit tent + disc + activity + windows 2000 & hl = en.

Here is a direct quote from the link: 'you can change windows to make a sound whenever the lock shift key is affected. Do it by clicking on start, settings, Control Panel, on the keyboard tab and Accessibility Options, click the checkbox ToggleKeys. Now when you press caps lock, shift, it makes a sound, and when you press it again to turn it out it will make a different sound. By activating this option the accidental press becomes immediately noticeable. »

It works very well. Assuming that the volume is not set to zero, I have a high tone when shift caps lock is enabled and a low beep when it turns off.

  • G6 caps lock flashes continuously, nothing on the screen

Hi, I have a HP g6-1325sa had a problem which had to replace the fan.

However since then nothing appears on the screen F12 has an orange light and the caps lock continuously flashes every 2-3 seconds. This isn't a blinking code it does this constantly.
So far, I have tried blocking the vents and leaving the laptop that works for more than an hour, as I've heard can be caused by dry solder joints. I have also tried to replace the motherboard and twice managed to get a cursor blinking on the screen but niether of those moments a normal startup is possible that the HARD drive has been disconnected on both of these occasions, the first time that it happened, I had just disconnected power and battery and power and hold for 30 seconds I'm guessing it's a cmos reset.

the only cause I can think is that the processor is cooked when the fan has been replaced, but who had already paid for another motherboard I would like someone to confirm what it means when the caps lock flashes constantly and if there is another way to fix it.

Thank you very much in advance for any help

Solved this problem where everyone sees the same behavior.

  • Keyboard stops working after you press caps lock.

On a compaq laptop presario CQ60-300SO the keyboard stops working after you press the caps lock button. The keyboard does not work once the computer starts, but after going in under the keyboard properties control panel and press the 'OK' button, this will work. Buy keyboard works when the computer RECORDS, so I can't get to BIOS. The keyboard work until windows starts and I activate it via the properties of the keyboard by opening the window and press OK immediately. I tried updating the driver but I only find that the keyboard already has the most recent drivers. I tried to restore the drivers and that does not work either. I also disabled start all programs and services to see if it was a problem caused by a program or service and still no luck. It's a very strange problem. I noticed that the keyboard IRQ ranges are both 64-64 and 60-60, which i thought was weird but that's maybe normal. Any advice will be appreciated.

  • CAPS LOCK IS FLASHING * STOP * AND MY MONITOR IS NOT WORKING

MY CAPS LOCK FLASHES MY SCREEN WORKS AND CAPS BUTTON BUT MY CAPS LIGHT WON'T STOP FLASHING

I would try to help you with your problem, but first, please tell me more about your device; name, model #, etc.

In the meantime, I found a document that could help.  Here is an excerpt of the document.  Given that the tables don't copy well in this program, I've added a link to the rest of the document below this excerpt.

LEDs blink close keys shift caps lock and number lock

The led near the caps lock shift keys and numlock blinks if a fault is detected during the boot process. The LEDs flash multiple times in a sequence and then stops. The number of flashes of the sequence indicates which item caused an error when it was tested when starting upwards.

If the LEDs stop blinking and the computer does not start, you can press the power button to repeat the tests. Count the number of flashes and use the table to define the error condition.

It is useful to know the number of blinks when you contact HP support for technical assistance officer.

    Flashing LEDs, etc..

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if it doesn't work, so I can continue looking for a solution for you.

  • Cap lock key disappeared on screen

I have a Gateway Laptop NV35A52U with win 7. Once, my cap lock had a display on screen but just seems to have disappeared. I have read where others have this problem and the response indicates the control panel settings then touch.  Like many others, I don't see the key parameters. Many have mentioned in passing by the registry and I think the answer is much easier than that.   Please help and thank you very much!

  • Configuration of caps lock no longer works

    Hello

After that the upgrade to Mac OS Sierra is not possible to turn off the caps lock.

Lock shift will continue to work either by selecting 'No Action' for the caps lock setting in system preferences > keyboard > modifier keys.

    Difficulty please!

    See you soon,.

    Giampaolo

    Hi, manchoz!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I understand from your post, that caps lock shift to 'No Action' in system preferences has in fact an effect; You can always activate the caps lock shift key after changing the setting. I know it may be practical to adjust how the key functions and would be happy to help you!

I have a few things I can recommend for you to try. Test by changing the caps to no Action lock after each step.

    1. Restart the Mac by clicking on the menu Apple  and selecting restart... in the drop-down menu.
    2. If possible, test how the caps lock functions on another keyboard (USB or Bluetooth).
    3. Start in safe mode and try to change the modifier of Caps Lock on. The following article will give you more information about safe mode and start it: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

Even if the title of the article is not specific to your question, safe mode is always a good step to take. She will run a scan of your system at startup and disable some software and processes that may be causing a conflict.

    4. Test the caps lock modifier in a different user account. This article will explain why test in another user account is a useful step and will also guide you in creating a new account: How to test a question in another account on your Mac user

For more information, see the following: macOS Sierra: change the modifier keys
