Caps/num/scroll double indicator

It's my first HP Vista 64 bit PC.  Is there a num/caps/scroll lock indicator in the system tray.  I guess that's because the wireless bought with the PC keyboard does not include a locking indicator.  For some reason, there are two icons in the status system for shift caps lock, NumLock and scroll bar.  Is this normal?  If not can someone tell me how to remove duplicate class?

Thank you.

Well now it displays correctly.  I did remove the ton of bloatware that's installed on the machine.  Not sure what was causing the problem, but its correct operation now so I'll call it resolved.

I have read all apparent fixes for this now, and so far I can assume no more without risk that people do stuff or my computer is different for every computer in the world. the reg edit fix does not work. the fix for the keyboard settings does not work as there is no tab caps. How the * stop indication at the bottom right of the screen that appears when you close Caps/scroll/Num lock when using Win7?

To be honest... No, it's not useful, but I guess it's good to know there are people actually read these questions and try to help :)

I ended up researching more and eventually find a way (that actually works) to just disable the key.
    (see the video-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6nHSMzC488)

I would have thought that as this was a relatively common problem that people had been facing even under Vista, microsoft would have found a way to get rid of this problem when they did Win7.

And even dare suggest that I buy Win8 (assuming that they actually put disabling feature in that time), that I have seen and heard nothing other than atocities with him. p

  • T410 AiO customer CAPS, NUM, and scroll keyboard stop does not work with PCoIP view desktop computers

We have problems with our t410 AiO customers, where the CAPS, NUM and scroll stop lights on the keyboard do not work with view PCoIP desktop computers.

I found the below information and a work around:
If you use the Protocol PCoIP to display on a client system Ubuntu 10.04, the CAPS Lock, NUM Lock, and Scroll Lock lights on your keyboard do not work with desktop view. Although the lights do not work, the keys themselves work.
Solution: Set the following configuration in a configuration file, such as/etc/vmware/config:
    mks.keyboard.useXkbSetNamedIndicator = 'TRUE '.

The problem is this difficulty is already in place via the latest version of the HP, Z6A440, software that is installed within our Organization.

What I discovered, is that the model that we initially bought for the test doesn't have this problem.  However, the models that we ordered since that time, DO have the problem and the solution above does not work as expected.

The model originally ordered for test is still a customer of IOA t410... but there are 4 "under models' for customers of IOA t410... that we have to test is a H2W20AA, while those we receive and distribution are the H2W21AA model.

No idea why, when connected to the desktop from view, that models of H2W21AA have this problem?

H2W20AA is with Teradici PCoIP optimized, which can support PCoIP better, but H2W21AA is not with Teradici. That's the difference.

However, the issue that you are experiencing does not matter in fact, we have not heard of this problem before. I would suggest that you do the following to see if there is no change:

    1. Go to download the latest VMware View 2.3.4 for t410, follow the instructions to install.
    2. If suggestion 1 does not work for you, try to connect to another VM group or set up a new machine virtual clean
    3. Call HP service center to save your problem for further investigation if the suggestion above did not work

  • caps & num lock indication on the screen or through KEYBOARD

How the caps lock and numlock status indication on the screen or via the keyboard LIGHTS when using windows 8?

    Hi Chris,

When you press the caps lock or num lock keys in the keyboard, you'll be able to see the lights come on indicating that the CAP/NUM lock is on. Similarly, you will also see a pop-up notification, and then disappear when you turn on or off the CAPE/NUM LOCK key.

If you are unable to see these indications, please get back to us with the make and model of the computer so that we can tell the exact steps to check this information on your computer.

  • Disable the Caps/Num Lock Indicator

So I have this REALLY annoying indicator and I cannot figure out how to turn off. He appeared just today after my keyboard locked out of the blue. I have not installed new drivers in more than a week or 2. It is also on a desktop computer assembled by hand with no preinstalled software.

I don't know what is. I use a Logitech G19 keyboard with 8.50 drivers LGS and I see no indicator in its parameters (point set is not installed or is - it a process). The control panel is out of no help as its parameters of immobilized the Num Key for 5 seconds does not work and also the neutralization of him does not.

    Hi, elegant,

To the left of the keyboard above the SHIFT key, press Caps Lock.  This should stop the message.

    Search troubleshooting links here

    1. Press Start > Control Panel > access > easy access Center > make the keyboard easier to use
    2. Make sure turn on toggle keys is not checked

Disable the popup lock and num caps

    Start, type Regedit

    Navigate to the following key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

Double-click on "Keyboard" to open the folder.

Open the "Edit" menu and choose "New" then "binary value".

A new file will appear to the right of your screen with the name of the file highlighted.

Type 'Scancode Map' for the new file name.

    Double-click to open type in "00000000 00000000 0200000000 003A 00 00000000" in the value data box.

    Press the OK"" button.

Close the editor of 'register' by selecting 'Quit' in the menu 'file '.

Restart your computer so that the change takes effect and enjoy life without the SHIFT key.

  • Alienware m15x doesn't start, then tried num, caps and scroll lock are flashing together and black screen. Help, please!

My former of alienware m15x has worked for a long time and recently a program I was running in order to respond and did not close so I shut down my computer and went to look for a snack or something, I'm back with her already turned on but I never turned it on and everything worked out of the screen, it was black and white , but I was actually on the logon screen, do what most people would of done, I rebooted my laptop this time stay in front of her and to my surprise, something that has never happened before, the laptop has attempted to start, the sound of the startup sound knew no more, sounded different and then he moved slowly This has never happened before, and out of nowhere, the 3 locks lights were flashing, at first I thought it was normal until I did some research and discovered it means something, that concerns me a lot, my lights flashed in a sequence of all 3 locks at the same time, so big all the lock 3 lights were flashing at the same time all together. Anyway I tried some things, but none worked, advice? I would really like to help, oh, and there is no warranty left. in any case who all read this thank you very much.

We're actually after looking into it more and try things, something worked, all I had to do was take off the rear housing of the laptop (even if it is off) and take small battery out for about 5 to 10 minutes, put it back in then it clogs and hope for the best, luckily for me it worked. My dad previously owned the laptop and when he bought it was broken (motherboard) and when he was broken it does exactly the thing mine did recently, maybe his old motherboard just needs a reset of the bios (removal of the battery for a while). anyway thanks for the advice and help. :)

When I turn on my computer, the hard drive starts but stops. The lights on the bar (next to the power button) turns on, but the screen does not work. Then, the caps lock and scroll Flash 4 times in sequence. My warranty expired last year, what should I do to fix my problem?

Thank you for your help, you two. I had already tried a hard reset, without success. On the advice of another forum, I have remove and reinsert the memory sticks in the back of the computer. I think they must detach when it filed on an accident. In doing so, I restarted the laptop and now it works fine.

  • How to remove caps/num lock notifications

Whenever I hit caps or NumLock on my Elitebook 8460w get a notification at the bottom right of my screen that its been toggled.

How can I get rid of these?

    Thank you.

Hello, I know you posted a long time ago, but I can't leave a message on the internet only unanswered. I have a HP Elitebook 85XXp and I had the problem of locking caps also. What I did I went to the process in the Task Manager and stopped QLB Controller. If you type msconfig in windows and go to startup or services, you can finish / uncheck the QLC controller service. It worked for me, hope this helps future inhabitants of the internet. Had to make an account just to post.

  • HP HDX 16 (model X 16-1360 EV) cannot start, and led (CAPS & NUM Lock) light flashes once.

    Hello

    I own a HP HDX 16.

The laptop model is X 16-1360 EV (product number: NW746EA #B1A) and it has Windows 7 64 - bit installed on it.

Since yesterday it will not start and I get the error code flashing led "Failure CPU" (1 flashes each sequence, every 2-3 seconds) and nothing appears on the screen, he died.

Last week, it wouldn't boot at all, no lights no all of the screen system was dead. I replaced the AC adapter and it starts normally. I worked with her for 2-3 days, and it worked perfectly, until the above has happened. Any information about how I can fix this would be appreciated. I have no device connected on the laptop.

I'm adept at dismantling and reassembling, and I did it several times to clean accumulations of dust and dirt that prevents good cooling and caused stops due to overheat. I checked the various modules of RAM from another laptop HP just to see if it was a memory problem, but still the same thing occurred.

    Thank you in advance.

  • stuck in mode 'sleep'

so here's my problem. A few days ago accidentally put my computer (PC, laptop) mode "standby" and now he won't wake up. few things I've tried:

-Press any key on the keyboard (USB), no lights (caps, num, scroll), no response
    -mouse (USB), no response
    -power button, push, no response
    -don't reset, no response
then I pressed and held the power button and it turned off. Here it interesting. now when I boot it goes directly into the mode 'sleep'. no errors, no BIOS, just fans and the buzzing silence hard disks, monitor entering sleep. and I'm here, excluding costs of ideas stuck in sleep mode _. subsequently tried PS/2 keyboard and mouse, still no response. OS, I am running Vista Home Premium 64-Bit, which I update frequently. Also been doing research on the web on the subject, found similar/identical problems, but no instructions how to get out of the situation, I'm currently in.
any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy holidays.

    Hi cannu,.

Welcome to the Microsoft community newsgroups.

Try to boot to the desktop after refresh all external devices (except for the mouse and keyboard)

If possible, connect to another monitor and check if the problem persists.

In the meantime I suggest you try these options:

Option 1: Try to boot to the desktop through Mode without fail in the Start Menu of the Options Start Advance® (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode) and check if this issues still exists, if the problem is resolved, you will need to perform a clean boot by following the steps in the following article to refine the exact source and isolate it : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Option 2: Solve problems wake the computer from sleep mode

Option 3: What to do if Windows does not start correctly

Let me know if it works. Good luck!

    Hope this information is useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Laptop will not start light caps and seeing flashing Num

My Ts2-1375dx does not start after I have stop and he turned his back. I get the cap & num lock lights will blink once. I remove the power cord, battery and devices all connected, press and hold the button on to 30 seconds, reconnect power and then try to start again. Although it works (perhaps after tests 1-3) I think not that this is the way you should have to start the computer. I also see a lot of the same problem with the solution is the method I use. WHY IS THERE NO PERMANT SOLUTION?

RESOLVED: I have disassembled the computer, removed from motherboard and heated the motherboard with a dryer of hair, concentrating on the CPU, gpu & Southbridge chips one by one. I warmed up each chip and pushed the chip socket to reinstall and now it works without error.

I now use a portable fan under the laptop to try to keep cooler so that it will not happen.

  • Caps lock indicator does not not in firefox

just installed firefox last 8 and caps does not show indicator on my asus eee pc 1001px where it should be on the bar spots. When I exit firefox and go to the mail program, it's ok. any body you will suggest a solution. Cheers, ian

Everything you just mentioned has to do with third party products.  The indicator that see you in your bar tasks is not Windows XP, the browser you are using is not Microsoft.  ;-)

You must first contact the manufacturer who provided the application of the indicator, then Mozilla (although you will have more luck with the first.)
