Captivate 6 trashed PDF file

In the past, I had no problem to create my 6 Captivate modules PDF versions. However, today I found that all of the PDF files I've created recently do not play in my PDF reader. Old-fashioned to Captivate 6 files PDF, but not new. Site says Adobe PDF reader no longer ships with components in Flash Player and I need to download the Flash Player (v12.0.0.44) separately. Even after I did it, I always get the same trashed screen (see below).

Someone else has experience this problem? I am using Windows 7 Enterprise, Adobe Captivate 6.0.1.240, version XI 11.0.06 drive. This problem seems to happen if I try to display the PDF in the stand alone player or in Reader plug-in in IE 9.

Darin

Hello

Have you tried that?

  • PDF files do not run video created with Captivate

I create videos eLeaning with Adobe Captivate and the resulting video is generated in a PDF and HTM file. For some such e-Learning, the PDF file does not work. the window opens and the bar for OCD and a small window black where the video to load, display. It's as if the video is loading but nothing happens.

I am using windows 7 OS. Captivate isn't a problem because the HTM files generate properly. Adobe Reader is also not a problem because some of the videos load perfectly. There are only a few videos that give a problem. No idea what could be wrong. If you would be grateful if anyone has an advisor.

You can send it to my email address. And remember to send me your details.

    Kind regards

  • Preview does not release the PDF files in the Recycle Bin.

After review of any PDF in preview, and then move it to the trash, the file may not be emptied from the Recycle Bin without having to restart the computer.

Anyway do preview release the file without having to restart the computer?

Select the file and use the Command + Option + Deletekeyboard shortcut.  You will get this window:

Click Delete Deletes the file.  The file can be anywhere on the disk hard to make it work.  It doesn't have to be in the trash.

  • Illustrator file generating PDF files to different sizes

I have a comic book divided in two files have. Each file is a work plan, each page of these files is a layer.

The two files have been set up the same, and my settings "save under" are the same. When I save pages in PDF file Ai 1, they save to twice the size of PDFs from Ai 2 file.

Is it possible to identify what is causing the difference?

Thank you, all the reviews were correct and helpful!

Even if I was saving in PDF and uncheck all the extras that cause a larger file, I decreased the size of the files by the trashing of all other pages/layers to save each separately.

Thanks a lot for all your notes and worry. I hope that these will help someone else in the future also.

  • Problem opening PDF files in Safari

    Hello

Whenever I need to look at a PDF file in Safari, I get the following message: ""before displaying PDF documents in the browser you need to launch Adobe Reader and accept the end user license agreement, and then quit and relaunch the browser.". In fact, I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader (11.0.7 I think) a few weeks ago to try to help out a customer, but immediately remove/uninstall the program once I found an answer for the customer as I did not need Adobe Reader since I was Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. I had no problem before installing Adobe Reader. It seems that Safari thinks that Adobe Reader is my default PDF reader, even if I don't have it anymore. I tried to look in Safari preferences tab under plug-ins Internet security and manage Web sites. I found that Safari is indeed to use Adobe Reader, even if I didn't do it, but cannot find how to remove it from Safari or replace it with Acrobat Pro. Someone knows how to fix this? I'm sure I can probably just download Adobe Reader, but I'd rather not.

    Thank you in advance!

    Josh

Firstly if you have installed the reader, then it will install the Adobe PDF plugin Viewer at this location:

    / / Library/Internet Plug-ins /.

If you have Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat is installed longer, then proceed as follows:

    1. go to > go to the menu of the folder (command + SHIFT + G)

    2. paste in the path: / Library/Internet Plug-ins /.

    3. click on the Go button

    4. Select the file 'AdobePDFViewer.plugin '.

    5. click on the control, and then select move to trash

6 authentication with your administrator password

    7. Select the file 'AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin '.

    8. click on the control, and then select move to trash

    9. authentication with your administrator password

    10. close the window

You should now be ready to go.

Print > save as PDF - use an excerpt (part of Mac OS X), so Adobe Reader should have no effect on that at all.

As for the error "file corrupted", simply uninstall the Reader app will not affect it. Follow these steps:

    Mac/HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins

Trash the files AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

    Mac HD/Applications

    Trash the application Adobe Reader

    [user] / Library/Preferences

    Trash the com.adobe.Reader.plist file

To access the [user] / Library, hold down the 'Option' and click on 'Go' in the FInder menu.

    Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe

    Trash the drive (full record)

    Empty the trash.

Download the installer FULL here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Quit your browser, and then reinstall the drive.

Run it from the Applications folder and agree to the license agreement.

You should have no problem with Safari PDF files download.

Unfortunately, ANY PDF file that says it is damaged.... You will need their trash.

  • Failed to read a PDF file

I use a Mac, OS X 10.8.5 and downloaded Adobe Reader 11.0.06.  A PDF file does not work in Firefox or Safari.  In Safari, I get a black screen with the message, "Adobe Reader blocked for this site."  I can click on 'allow', which leads to a blank black screen.  This occurs through multiple sources of PDF files online.  In Firefox, I get a blank white screen, no message.  I have ensured that that java is enabled.  I restarted the computer after installation.  I'm filling out a job application that cannot be done through Adobe https://jobs.ca.gov/pdf/std678.pdf thanks for any help.

"I'm still a black screen blank for all online and pdf files.

Wish you would have said that in the first post...  What to do... "Here I have read that in the first post.

    Go to: Mac Plug-ins HD\Library\Internet

    Trash the files AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin .

    Empty the trash.

    Restart Safari.

A PDF will open using the Plugin to preview instead.

  • Cannot open a PDF file that is downloaded from the internet

For the past two months, PDFs a lot (but not all) cannot be opened after being registered.

The message is Adobe Reader could not open "Worlds most competitive cities IBM 2013.pdf" because it is not a type of supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an attachment to e-mail and has not been correctly decoded).

What is a solution that a layman can do?

    Jerry Hultin

    It is a Safari problem

    Go to: Mac/HD/Library/Internet Plugins

Trash the files AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

    Empty the trash.

Relaunch Safari and you can download a PDF file without error.

  • Adobe Reader XI does not reopen saved PDF files

XI player does not open the saved PDF files. Opens the PDF saved using an earlier version of the player. In Mac Help.

    Good news and bad news.
The bad news is: PDF files are permanently damaged, and you need to remove them.

The good news is: you can avoid this happening again.

Download the installer ollfine Reader 11 here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Save the DMG - DO NOT climb or run Setup yet.

    Quit Safari.

    Go to: Mac HD/Applications

Basket of the Reader 11 application from here

    Go to: Mac/HD/Library/Internet Plugins

    Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin file

    Trash the AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin file

    Empty the trash

Mount the DMG and run the installer from the reader.

Open Safari and go to: Safari > Preferences

On the Security tab, make sure 'Allow all other plugins' is checked.

You can now redownload previously "damaged" PDF files and they will be open.

  • Manufacturing Cp5.5 published in the form of PDF files compatible with Reader 8.1.6

With the publication of our CP5.5 training modules completed, we use the output PDF version. At the end of the publication, the system warns that it will be compatible with Reader 9 or newer.   Is it ALL WAY around that? (we previously used 5.0 and recently updated to 5.5 and are now unable to return to an earlier version of the cp files)

We put our modules on sparc systems are loaded with the latest version of the player that is currently available for sparc (v8.1.6) systems and is not so surprising when we try to open the pdf file we get a version conflict prompt. It's devastating - please help. Does perform a work around?

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I'm afraid I have some very bad news.

There is no lower upgrade path from Cp5.5 to Cp5, not to mention Cp5x at Cp4x.

So there is no way in Captivate to create PDFs for Acrobat Reader versions prior to version 9 (and I think that maybe this is actually the version 9.1, 9.0).  However, this is NOT really about Captivate in this case, because earlier versions of PDF were impossible to view the multimedia content of the SWF file.  So, if your SPARC system cannot run that version 8 x in PDF format, you were never going to be able to run any version of Captivate its release still being SWF content.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Acrobat#Version_9.0

Either way, inability to Captivate to record in previous versions is a sore point with many users.  But it has NEVER been possible to record in older versions of Cp, once you upgrade.  So at least it's consistent...

  • Link to PDF file?

    Hello

I'm trying to put several links in a page using C5, I want everyone to be able to open multiple pages pdf documents so that the user can scroll through the document page 3 or 4. Is it possible to do this? I created a powerpoint presentation with links contained in it and it works, but I guess that they removed when importing to C5. I looked through the help of C5 and on this forum but really can't find anything... Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Randy

    Hi Randy

Just insert a button or click box and set it up to open URL or file. Specify the name of the PDF file. Then make sure that the PDF file is in the same folder as your Captivate movie.
