Illustrator file generating PDF files to different sizes

I have a comic book divided in two files have. Each file is a work plan, each page of these files is a layer.

The two files have been set up the same, and my settings "save under" are the same. When I save pages in PDF file Ai 1, they save to twice the size of PDFs from Ai 2 file.

Is it possible to identify what is causing the difference?

Thank you, all the reviews were correct and helpful!

Even if I was saving in PDF and uncheck all the extras that cause a larger file, I decreased the size of the files by the trashing of all other pages/layers to save each separately.

Thanks a lot for all your notes and worry. I hope that these will help someone else in the future also.

  • Swapping video files of different sizes

The definitive source for my project files will be ready for some time, but I have a rough set of versions of half of the resolution which in the meantime.

I would like to realize the complete Assembly on these raw files and swap them out when I get the final versions. I could apply a transformative effect and files to adapt the project to the scale, but it will probably be a couple of hundreds of clips once I edited (from 12 source files). Which means go through each clip and by removing the transform effect.

Is there an easier way to do what I want? Or maybe there is a way to apply or remove an effect to an entire track instead of individual clips? The effect won't be a problem because there will be only 12 clips when I start, but if there is a better way I'd rather not go into each clip to remove the transformation.

I have only limited access to the computer with first on that for this project so that no matter where I can save time will allow it.

  • «It's an Adobe Illustrator file that was record without PDf content.»

I worked with Illustrator - InDesign as usual. For the time being to link my file HAVE in InDesign, I received this message 8 times in a frame size A4:

"This is an Adobe® Illustrator® file that has been saved without PDF content. To place or open this file in other applications, it must be re-recorded in Adobe Illustrator with the options of 'Create PDF Compatible file' lit. This option is in the dialog box Options of Format native Illustrator, which appears when you save an Adobe Illustrator file by using the Save as command. »

Weird... I have never seen it before. I resaved the file, and it continues to be. I see no option "create PDF Compatible file" when you simply store a file HAVE...  I'm not trying to make a PDF!

I did the same procedure that connects the other files HAVE in this file ID and it works as usual. Just that's the one. And it seems not particularly different from what I do every day...

I finally made a PDF of the AI and placed in InDesign. But whenever I have to update the AI... Well, you know. It's just not the right way to do it.

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

  • The Illustrator file size is 4 x size placed jpeg

It's weird. I have a jpeg CMYK placed in Illustrator. It is not embedded. The size of the jpeg is 6.6 MB. When I look at my Illustrator file size, it is 25.6 MB. Is there a way to get around this? I have other files with placed jpegs that only take into account data from Illustrator (vector, IE) into account. Any suggestions? Looks like a rookie question!

If you save without PDF compatibility and do not embed an ICC profile, your file size should be much smaller.

When you register with PDF compatibility, you are, indeed, incorporation of the image.

If you choose the compression option to save, the part PDF readable your .ai (with the embedded image) file, in fact, will compress down with other file data, offering a reduction in file size.

Whether you need compatibility PDF and/or a profile tag, only you can answer. You pay for them in the size of the file.

  • Export Illustrator file to PDF - 'Create PDF Compatible file' where is this option?

Where the Option 'Create a compatible PDF file' when export us an Illustrator file to PDF? Hernani thanks

    hernanif,

The option is only save you as or save a copy in the format I.

Its purpose is to create a file PDF file inside HAVE.

If you save as PDF, you have the additional option preserve Illustratot editing capabilities, which creates a file HAVE in the PDF file.

Whatever it is, you get a file in both formats, with some differences.

  • How to generate PDF and CHM of the command line files in windows?

I'm trying to set up a PC to build certain documents during the night. I was looking for a way to get from framemaker to generate PDF and CHM files through a command line in windows? How this is done with FrameMaker 12

    Thanks for the help

    Alex

I have the pdf part of this work now. Make a jsx which generates the PDF file via the doc. Save(). And when the pdf file is generated the script then shut down of FrameMaker via the application. Close method.

I then just copy the script in FrameMaker autorun dir and start FrameMaker to get the pdf genenerated.

Now, I'm trying to do something with the chm filegeneration. But I can't find anything on how to get FrameMaker to make the extend script CHM files. Is there anyone who have some good places to look for that?

  • Make my MXF project format MXF spews on more than 25 copies of the same file: different sizes?

When making my MXF project format MXF spews on a ton of makes MXF the same file: different sizes?

The reason I want to make an another MXF is in the first place, because when I go directly to the project with all the various effects, Magic Bullet Looks, etc, etc.

in another format, there are always problems.

Therefore, I have not choice but to descend a generation to gather footage and made an exact copy of what is in the project to the MXF format before I make an MPEG or a H.264.

The size of my project is more than 100 GB...

In any case, my most likely choice is to go with the file with most gigabytes. As I say... He spits the different sizes.

Is there a way to stop the rendering to spit on a ton of MXF files and streamline all in MXF format?

I searched and searched the Internet for the answer and have checked the forums without success.

The other thing that concerns me is that a project of more than 100 gigabytes becomes a 3.4 GB file to a 97-minute film. (It also makes a MXF to 1.5 Gig size. Everything is exactly the same thing on this record as far as I know, the rendering of Gigabyte 3.4) that she return 25 to 3.4 GB MXF files. (It's also take up a ton of space on my drive hard whenever I visit)

It doesn't seem wise because when I visited about 8 minutes from the beginning of the film, he made a 2.9 Gigabyte file contrast with Gigbyte 3.4 file for the entire film.

Somehow, I think that I can get the same quality when rendering the entire production.

In addition, it takes more than 5 hours to make a MXF and I feel if it was just on 1 file, such as difference in more than 25 of the exact same rendering MXF files, rendering time would be faster and more efficient.

Any help or explanations would be appreciated...

    Thank you

    James

P.S. I deleted a whole bunch of MXF files to make, believeing that they were all duplicates. Of course, they were not, because the one I saved, I put in first to check and it displays only one segment of the film. Therefore, I think that all of the MXF should be connected and when you transfer one in, full MXF is displayed, however... If you delete everything except a MXF thought they are all duplicates, you only this segment of production. Seems to work quite the way to crazy? lol that sounds too wise in what concerns the gigabytes. However, first give the properties for that 1 file that you are importing, even if it is connected to all the other files. Projects likely to be total MXF gigabytes. Because I deleted all the files except one, I'm re - make everything. I'll let him place in case someone else runs into the same situation, I am sure someone will... lol

the effects were interfering with a good record.

It's probably not the right explanation.  Many export (which is different a rendering, take note of that) their projects directly from the sequence, effects and everything and get perfectly workable results.  In fact, I would say more that everybody does things like that.  I use MB effects for years, and yes it's hard reading.  But export always out just fine even on my system of $800.

While your exports come out wobbly, it would probably be to fix it the problem to be solved.  But I would probably start looking for somewhere other than the effects.  Only those should not create the issue you described.

  • Export a page to the photoshop/illustrator file with the same structure of layer?

    Hello

Currently freelancing for a company that create using the indesign work and I try to streamline the process of splitting the outside inside work is separate to import directly into damage layers. I know you can use a script to separate the outside layers and then export as interactive pdf, this opening in illustrator and then releasing to layers (build) I'm looking for an effective way more time to get to this point? Sometimes the work does not seem to import correctly into illustrator, because there clipping masks and weird stuff out there (their marketing team is huge and those working on the same things that make things way differently). I tried two script to split the work out in components, but they don't seem to not remember the position or just produce the element of the unique work.

A typical file would be 640 x 640 page with multiple Indesign pages with 6 layers of each placed exactly and signed illustration of positional for. The perfect scenario would be to run a script to export directly into photoshop (keeping the culture and position) if it is then just one case to draw only a file directly in ae.

There are various forums and I got asked in all of scripts but InDesign and in particular script is not my forte. It is one that could do the trick, but the link is no longer active: http://www.zenodesign.com/forum/PageToPSLayersV3.zip

I know it may seem as it is lazy, but there are many things to animate by project in different sizes, so any help and pointers would be great!

    Thank you

  • Cannot print illustrator files

    Hello

    •The problem:

I have some illustrator files - I cannot print. I tried many different things to make impression (details below).

The files I have problems with all use models (model no standard color chart). 1 group of files use a jpg-model, other models of vector group.

Those with the vector model does not print (print printer spools, RIP printer file (I checked it on the printer) after this nothing happens, it does ' t get in the joblist). File jpg-jacquard prints only 1 of 4 pages after over an hour of treatment. All files are multi-page files. File sizes are between 20 MB and 80 MB. It is only a minority of the files with problems.

•Compatible, but not a good solution for everybody:

Export to jpg, using plans 'work' selected, maximum quality.

It works, for CS4 and CS5 it works more or less well, but in my understanding CS3 does not work with multiple work plans, this is a real problem (copy/paste of simple pages then export all the pages...) So I hope a transverse normal, more elegant solution. It's a minority of the files, but still enough to be a serious problem.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I think I would try save on an Illustrator PDF file and open it in Acrobat (I know you've tried this, just stick with me). Once opened in Acrobat, hit print and the print dialog box under Advanced select the impression that the image checkbox.

  • Relink Illustrator files problem

I have never seen something like this:

I have a project created in CS4 (exact version unknown) outside my company and I need to continue work on the project.  Project active and falls overboard on a firewire drive.  Nearly 400 GB of things, just so check before I start copying to my system, I open the project (CS4) directly from drive and quickly check things.  Everything seems correct.  Copy the contents of the disc.  The next day, I open the project in CS5 on my system.  CS5 informs me that my images is missing, so I create a link to a file and AE is everything.  However, almost all (but not all) Illustrator files are relinked as the "right size".  It's the best I can describe it.  Masking performed on the files of the AI is completely wrong, the animations do not work for this reason, etc.  I have however, OK I'll try opening in CS4.  Same deal.  So I gave the firewire drive and opens the project from here to make sure I wasn't crazy.  All right.  ?  So, I'm crazy.

My next thought was that the import settings I have last used to import as a composition must be streaked things up.  But I have no other choice when the restoration of the links, so I imported a file multilayer from another project as a model by using the same sizes layer then reissue of links (has not fixed) and then imported as model using the size of the document (has not set). I tried the re-establishment of links to the files directly from the firewire drive and who did not work in CS4 or CS5.

What is MOST confusing to me, it is that if I open the original project of CS4 out the firewire drive and create a link to any file .ai a SAME files on my system drive (in the same directory structure, etc.) the problem appears.  If I open the original project off the firewire drive in CS5, the project is fine too, but I have same problem with the reissue of links to .ai files on my system.  So for the moment I'm working off the firewire drive.  Is not ideal for sure, but I get.

I would consider any thought that someone wants to offer upwards.  Maybe I missed something obvious, but I have made similar plans, many times and not seen any problems like that.

    More details:

    Quad 2 x 2.8 GHz Mac 10.6.4

    6 GB OF RAM

    CS4 9.0.2.42

    CS5 10.0.1.19

The customer Firewire drive: LaCie 1 TB external

Location of the storage system: shared Fibre channel RAID

Project has ProRes 422 HQ 1920 x 1080 29.97 QT images and Illustrator files as assets

Don't know how or what version of .ai files have been created in

Illustrator files were masked/animated so when I recreate a link to files on my system as above, the masks are all false vs the dimensions of the file have

Each Illustrator file I open is a simple document layer (there are hundreds, no not ALL tried, but everyone in the project's single layer, not comp)

Composition import with layer to keep the size of the document OR makes no difference in this issue

It's actually one of the eternal bugs in handling the files HAVE version AE AE version, complicated by possibly different versions of the Adobe PDF library... Reissue of links it of just the same as loading from scratch files and resets the info box enclosing, used to determine the size of the AIs. Have you tried to collect the project to the new medium AE location instead of copying, just outside the program? This might work. Desp as I see no easy way to fix this. You would have to rework the files HAVE or their scale in AE to match the original work...
