• Captivate 6 buttons do not work when load in Flash. Help!

  I created a content player that load SWFs and plays them with some basic commands. It is able to load in Captivate 5 and 5.5 without problem. However, now when I insert into Captivate 6, buttons in the Captivate content do not work. I can get the bearings the trigger clicks, but not button.

  I solved it. It had nothing to do with Captivate (that I know). All this had to do with how I manage Captivate content loaded inside my flash application. It had to do with the scope and timing of how I was Manager the loaded content. If someone wants to know the details, I would be happy to disclose but I think that this is something quite unique in my own code structures.

  You should try to include a web font, but you cannot use those during the creation of course, so when you publish or correct fonts you have alignment issues.

• How can I adjust the shapes that overlap the page?

  I'm working on a holiday brochure 270 page. I usually work with Photoshop, but I know that's not ideal for brochures, then worked along side another designer with InDesign. I picked up almost everything to get me going which is great. However, I am stuck on best practices for the bottom.

  The idea is that each page with a hotel will have the same style of background, which consists of a few circle shapes that are slightly different shades. Circles leave the edges of the page, to just form a curve across the page. Each different destination will have these forms in different colors, so that the customer wants to be able to change the colors autour once I put the brochure their.

  To build on the response to Lilybiri, I think that my desire for buttons have three States (high, low) is driven by what I see in other applications on the web apps and installed locally.  All the buttons tend to have three States.

  When I clicked on a button Transparent alignment policies went from centered on the left. I can't find anywhere to bring back the alignment to centered.   Text or Transparent buttons always had the possibility to align the button label, not even in previous versions, because they are centered.  If you have installed CP7, can you tell me where you found it? Double just checked that I was pretty sure.

  Can't explain why alignment has changed for you, only suspect it's perhaps in connection with the upgrade of the project. Never had this problem so far, the answer you want to know where you found the alignment option in CP7? Alignment is available for all containers of text such as the legends of text and forms. Since a shape can be used as a button, which is the only button, I know where the alignment can be changed. Of course, you can create Image buttons and adjust the alignment, but then it will be in the graphics application.

• Captivate 9 buttons Quiz: I can't get flipping and animations to work down.

  My buttons on the quiz pages do not show reversal or down events. The buttons work, but the user has no indication (Visual or audible) who clicked the button. It's only on quiz slides.   I suspected this to be the case. No, all shares advanced/shared in Captivate are event-driven. The conditional action will never be executed. I have a lot of examples on my blog for this use case, but post-it (yet) in this thread. BTW: I understand German (I'm Flemish) but do not dare to write in German.

  In a conditional action, you can have several decisions, which are all executed in the order: orders are from top to bottom, are decisions from the left to the humble. You will need to integrate the standard and the conditional action in a conditional action to be triggered by the buttons. Now that you have only one decision (indicated as "Unnamed" and choice in your screenshot), this decision should be the second decision. You don't need to put anything in the ELSE part, but I still don't know the break of the buttons, reason why I asked for a screenshot of the timeline. Your conditional action should look like this (sorry for the English terminology).

  The decision to "Always" 1 I like to cite the decisions and everything in my projects

  IF 1 is equal to 1

  Assign the v_button1 with 1

  Disable Button1

  Hide Button1

  Image buttons are 'old' (I no longer used): to customize you create three images with a graphics application. The images must have the same name, followed by _down and respectively _up anime_survol. You can use any other compressed format, GIF or PNG. Take a look at the Gallery\Buttons for examples. When you want to use this custom button, you point to one of the three images and Captivate can detect the other two. One of the biggest drawbacks for me of this type is that you can not change the label, you must create 3 images for each button with a different label. Easier way with transparent buttons and form.

• Captivate 8 button Retake Quiz - return to the slide of the wrong question

  I have not yet fixed my problem of button retake quiz. I have a project with several questions of practices not classified (hot spot, drag n drop, 2 several multiple choice answers) followed by 9 questions 'real' test. I want students to return 'true' test questions when they click on the recovery test button. Now, the recovery quiz button brings back me to the first multiple choice question in the practical section - not the first 'real' test question.

  In the Interactions for the first multiple choice question (and the 2nd as well), I see that nothing appears in the neck to include in the questionnaire and responses report = no, but an entry appears in Objective ID and ID of Interaction. I don't see this credential anywhere in the QUIZ tab - I wonder if this is what pushed the button quiz in this slide.

  

  Attempt to correct:

  I saw the response of Lilybiri to "Captivate 8 resume Quiz" entry. It seemed like the perfect solution to my problem. So I created an Action conditional Advanced:

  The 'real' 1 slide test I put this conditional action on enter.

  You must have read my response wrong. Condition is OK, but you have to trigger on enter for the first issue of practice, not on the first slide of the real issue. As the recovery button will take the user to the first practical question slide, this action will be evaluated and the jump to the first slide of the real question occur. Assumed, here are that all the slides in practice before all the question slides.

  The process that I mentioned will involve the mail client, opening on the end user's computer (assuming that it has been correctly configured and works). It is up to the user to click the button to actually start the shipping process so that the recipient will receive the message.

  If you are looking for a solution by which the user never sees the email client but a message behind the scenes, it is possible to achieve, but it will take a lot of "behind the scenes" Setup. You will need some sort of a script that runs on the web server that receives and process information, then he sends through e-mail to the server traffic.

  I want to replay a slide in captivate 7 and use a button to do this. I have a button continue (go to the next slide) and I want one that appears at the end of my animation and audio and when you click on it which reads my audio relegated animation.   @mark2044: you cannot jump to the current slide with "Assign cpCmndGotoSlide with cpInfoCurrentSlide", because the index of these two system variables is different: cpCmndGotoSlide starts with 0, cpInfoCurrentSlide starts with 1. And I add continue because a tip action will normally not be communicated the read head. You can assign this action to a button form, either on the model of slides used, or delayed for the rest of the project. The last solution is the best if you want to hide this button on some slides. And if you want to reuse this action in other projects, please create it as a shared action. No parameters needed.

• How can I alt tag button table of contents that appears at the top of the menu?

  Running the latest version of the Cp7 on a windows machine 7.

  A 508 hang up once more: the customer insists on an active table of contents for the project file. We have activated the TOC and it works fine, but there is a collapsible TOC secondary button located at the top of the slide here:

  I can't put a the button alt tag, which means that JAWS and other screen just readers it reads as a button without a name - which would be 'bad' If you try to pass a test of 508 compliance - who I am.   You can replace the current picture with one of your choice.  But even if you replace just one pixel GIF, I think that it will always record somewhere in the screen as a button reader.

  However, to be fair to Captivate, you can use the table of contents button on the playback bar to activate the table of contents if need be, or you can configure the buttons on the screen to do so.

  Personally, I wouldn't be way to recovery TOC at all.  I would try for a table of contents separate so that it did not have all the time.

  However, I had read somewhere on this forum (a year or two back) about someone of another conclusion that the links in the table of contents itself were not fully 508 compliant.  Then perhaps you're just chasing your tail here if you try to achieve perfect 508 compliance.
