• Captivate 4 - bookmark for LMS function

  I have completed the development of a course, but have come to learn that a bookmark functionality is required by the LMS. There must be a way for a user to start the course and then stop and later be returned to the same place.

  Is there a setting in Captivate where can I activate this feature?

  It's the "Resume data" option, which is the equivalent of Bookmarking, AFAIK.

  Cars at the pace of learning in the table of contents, will keep the indication of the slide 'view' in the table of contents and have the learner goes to the next slide "not big". I hope it is clear enough (bit tired, English is not my native language, so please excuse me).

  As I said in the title, I'm looking for a bookmark for Captivate 5.5 widget.

  I found a widget to this site and it seems that the widget is for Captivate 5.0 and 4.0

• How can I include a glued profiles bookmarks and login info/autofill etc. in a profile already existing in use?

  Hello, I read how to transfer and create a new profile in the Terminal and I stuck a profile (not 1) content of computer1 to the folder ~/library/apsupport/profiles to computer2 with the new profile created etc. and he opens in Nice Firefox - but-
  Computer2 to which I added Profile1, already had an original profile used with bookmarks and etc too many connections before I wanted to paste stuff from comp1 in there which would be a pain to try to sort manually in it - is there a way to join them if I can put them in total cus if I paste the content it replaces just if I get is comp1 or comp2 profile!

  Also how would switch to the profile orig comp2 if I wanted to cus at the moment it's still in ~/library/application support/firefox/profiles, but firefox uses the mer1 that I just created in the Terminal and then glued profile comp1 in!
  Hope that all of the senses.

  If you want to add data (fusion) to an existing profile, then you will need to install extensions in this profile that add such a feature.
  
  For bookmarks, you can export the Favorites to an HTML file and import this file.

  There is no way to merge form data directly without using an extension.

• Bookmarking in Captivate 9

  Hi all

  I searched a bit in the forums and have not found quite what I was looking for, so that is:

  My videos in Captivate pack a lot of content. I recently received a suggestion from one of my viewers to the effect of providing a kind of bookmarking feature where users can scan a list of bookmarks to a video said to access the part of the video that explains the content they are most interested in.

  Let's say my video covers x, y and z topics in this order. My Viewer wants to access the z section without having to look at x and y first (or have to go looking for it). Is there a mechanism in Captivate that can help you with this?

  No it not there no "mechanism" to do this from Captivate itself.  But there are two ways to achieve something similar.

  If your videos are inserted as slide videos, then they are locked on the framerate of the whole project.  So, you could possibly work on what the number of the framework has been for each break and then store it in a variable user which was used during the use of stocks advanced with the cpCmndGotoFrameAndResumeSystem Variable.

  However, it would be a bit complex for you.

  My other suggestion is to break your videos into pieces and place them on separate slides.  Then simply to access the slides.

• Captivate 4 has a bookmark function?

  I have 7 lessons related in sequence in a Captivate 4 program published on CD-ROM. is there a bookmark function or a way to make a where if I can't follow these 7 lessons in one sitting, I would take the CD out and then put back in at a later date, picking up where I left off last. So far, I think it is not possible, but am looking for some veterans Captivate entry. Thank you!

• Bookmarks/chapters on Captivate the player

  Is it possible to create bookmarks or chapters on the player so that someone watches a film can easily go from one section to another? I thought that maybe, by creating groups of the slide, this would happen, but it doesn't seem to be the case. It seems kind of obvious to allow someone to get through a demo to display different parts easily... but I can't find an option! :)

  Some people choose to move this menu in a box located in the main part of the project. To do this, you click Project > skin... > borders tab and activate the top border.

  Sorry, no way to put the menu down. Unless, of course, you are paid in Flash and you want to create something in Flash that works this way. You would then drop in Captivate.

• Captivate audio does not pausing in LMS after relaunch of bookmarking.

  My background is in Captivate 5.5.  I have audio attached to each slide and each slide contains a button 'Next' text to pause the slide at the end.  We use SumTotal LMS.  The course works very well if you start and complete it in one sitting. If I close and favorite of my place, then relaunch the course will begin where it left off and slides a break to the "next" button, but continues to go to the audio. "" I looked it up and down on both sides and that you can not solve this problem.  Several users have had this problem.  Any help would be appreciated I need to get this on-line course.

  Thank you very much!  I added the audio slide by slide and I at the beginning of each slide.  I will try to move a tenth or two out.

• backup of bookmarks does not

  I went to usb here, I've copied any profile, click Copy bookmarks folder, did you said open the file with my new profile. I glued and right click here my old bookmarks file, it did not work. Passwords registered and all the rest has been copied as it should be, but has no Favorites

  I can't find any information on this situation highly probable in the literature. Maybe someone has an idea or technique.

  Do you use an LMS? In this case the bookmarking is automatically enabled and supported by the LMS and the data of resumes sent by Captivate.

  If you do not use an LMS, you can enable Paced Learning in the table of contents. Bookmarking will use cookies (for the output SWF) or Local storage (for HTML output). Both require that the user opens a session from the same system because the saved data is on the system.

  I've been searching the forums and play with Captivate for a few days to try to find a solution to my problem, but I'm not come with all of the relevant answers.

  I am very little inspired by the look of the Captivate default dialogue window that appears when I return to a lesson. Is the one who asks to "continue where you stopped last time.

  I have seen proposals on how to change the captions and the colors, but I can't find a way to simply turn it off and do the lesson taken from the place where the user left off. I tried to turn off autocontrolee learning, but this disables bookmarking all together.

  I use the latest version of Captivate 9.

  Any help would be grateful.

  They will access via an LMS System. After many hours messing around I think the only options available for me should use the TOC frame that comes with the annoying dialog box, or do not use the table of contents and this should enable the LMS to manipulate the bookmarking and auto recovery here where the user left off.

  Is that what everybody is watching?

• Bookmarks for Acrobat

  Hello to all... once again, I have one - you're out of your mind – question. Customer requested then I have to jump through the hoops... and yet, it is one of the things that I don't see as possible... so, here I am.

  I have a Captivate 6 presentation published in PDF format... the final PDF also has attachments for the user to consult/download via input... Panel customer wants bookmarks via Acrobat as well.

  As far as I know, Acrobat bookmarks are related PAGE and my Captivate presentation is popups, textboxes customized with AA... so rebuild in InDesign is NOT possible... which would produce bookmarks in Acrobat.

  Is there a way to get the bookmarks in Acrobat to get a PDF Captivate?

  I don't think it's possible.  As you point out, because bookmarks are static objects (not really linked page, you can have several bookmarks on a pdf page). However, the pdf file created with Captivate is an interactive pdf: this is really a movie Flash playing as an interactive object in the pdf page.

  I m with the current version of LearnDash and Grassblade LRS Grassblade xAPI Companion.

  I generate classes with Adobe Captivate 9.
  
  I downloaded the course with xAPI companion, active monitoring of the completion and the course opens in a lightbox.
  

  The course has 3 simple Quiz slides at the end.
  It is possible to follow the course once per user.
  Then, after clicking on the "Launch" button again the course starts the quiz slides so that the user can´t resume.
  

  
  

  There is the same problem in failing the course:

  -User hits the road

  -L' user fails to Quiz
  -User can´t resume the quiz and begins the course to the Quiz results slide.

  
  

  
  

  In Adobe Captivate I ve made the adjustment in the quiz settings:

  -> Action when passed Quit smoking

  
  

  Action in case of failure-> Jump to slide 1 (work it s but the quiz does not reset)

  Y at - there a Posibility to let the user restart the course even when it was already there?

  Your problem with the course of recovery to the Quiz results slide is due on bookmarking.  One solution is to disable data summary bookmarking by selecting the option from the quiz > Reporting screen under Advanced to never send the CV database.  (For a small quiz containing a handful of issues it should never be necessary to mark and return anyway.)

  Return the learner to the first slide in the project by using the action of failure does not reset the quiz.  Several attempts to quiz, to allow through the Quiz > pass or fail the screen and select the option to display the button resume.  The user must be clicking on the Quiz results slide this button to reset the quiz to zero for a new attempt.
