• Captivate 7 Configuration of Web object

  I am facing after my customer's requirement and cannot solve it on my own:

  I would like to show a web object, when a user clicks an object cost a slide (button or hyperlink). So far I couldn't manage it.

  Short script to this: user click on a button, web object is displayed in a new browser window (custom size without browser controls) and load the web content interconnected.

  Is this possible at all?

  I'm trying to insert a YouTube video into Adobe Captivate and publish it. While it previews fine, when I publish it as a SWF, I see just an empty frame.

  Can help out you here? Also, if I want to publish it as a PDF, the video will play it too?

  Hello Akshay,

  I guess that the method you are using now is integration of Youtube videos into your Web object. My suggestion is that it will be much easier if you use the Interaction of training Youtube instead of a Web object to insert Youtube videos to your Captivate project.

  This can be found in the toolbar of Interactions-> Learning Interactions-> Youtube

  In addition, as Anthony mentioned, please test it on a web server, or a SCORM cloud.

  YouTube interaction works when you export to PDF as well.

• Captivate 8 PDF Web object works only on Windows

  I'm a web object link to PDF links hosted online. They are inaccessible in Internet Explorer and Safari on a Windows System. They are all of the latest versions and the PDF is visible in browsers, but not in the web object.
  Does anyone else have this problem? What is find a solution?

  I think I'd be more apt to launch the PDF file with a link in a new window. I don't like my projects throwing errors, so I would not use either WO without correcting the errors. I correct and keep them in a different folder to replace in the project after the publication. You can also include some of the patches in the widget while they are actually fixed. Some errors are actually in the CPM.js, which must be fixed post-publishing.

• Captivate Web object does not publish to EXE

  Well, I can insert the web object now, and it works fine when I publish to HTML. Appear not at all when I publish on EXE...

  Is this normal?

  Is there a list of interaction objects that do not work in specific formats of publication?

  HE doesn't think that the interaction between the web object will work with exe because webobject link us a url of a Web site which will require the browser to render web content.

  When we publish it as a swf file, it gets opened in a browser which can easily open web content.

  Download all the files published (including the PDF file) on a web server and test from there.  Tests of this sort of thing locally can often fail.

  Then I published SCORM 1.2 course and rolled my page.html inside this ZIP package.

  After that, I publish this course in Moodle LMS and SCORM-cloud.

  But this course was launched in both systems - page.html does not appear on the slides!

  In this case, I tried to put my page.html inside the SCORM package and after the publication of LMS must be downloaded to LMS as sending to the web server.

  As you can see I try to use the link, but it does not work.

  What I've done wrong?

  If you use Captivate 8 or 9, you can zip the HTML page and insert into Captivate as a HTML5 Animation. This should work for you.

• Problems using Vimeo in widget Web object and error message "What is happening here?"

  Using Captivate last, 8 on Windows 10. I have five minutes 5 HD mp4 videos uploaded to Vimeo Plus account. I used the Web object widget interaction with the embed from Vimeo on 5 empty slides code in my Captivate for learning project.  I've extended once the widget and drag it to the Timeline for a few seconds before the actual length of the Vimeo video. Between each slide video I put one or two quiz slides. Publication and download a Web site online that everything seems to work fine, except that sometimes a video will stop halfway through and the Captivate after project will move immediately to the next quiz slide. It's random. In the test with multiple users, a person can spend all the videos OK but the other may have breaks from 1 to 4. When I tested it online, I found the same erratic behavior.

  I tried to put a button 'continue' after the video on the timeline. Video can still stop playing after a few minutes, but the blade now continues until the button is on the timeline. So it does not solve the problem.

  In the properties of the Web Widget object, there is a preview button:

  

  When I saw one of the 5 videos shipped I get this message "what happens?", but I can see the first frame of each video in the background, and however, it always seems to start OK.

  

  That means Adobe by "Please install Flash or upgrade your browser." I have 10 Windows that says I have the latest version of Flash Player. I also have Adobe Edge animate installed.

  Help to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I know that I can insert just the 5 videos in the project calendar and it will work, however, these are great HD videos and with 2 or more users who access at the same time, we have some bandwidth problems. I thought that using Vimeo to disseminate video content would solve the problem of bandwidth, but having the halfway cut of videos is not acceptable. Has anyone else had luck with the help of Vimeo in this way? Are there other methods, what can I try?

  Why not try the native Web (headings) object that comes with 8 Captivate? In addition, may I know if you publish to SWF or HTML format? You can also share a screenshot of your Timeline slide?

  I have a series of slides, each with a Web object. Each is a link to an HTML page with a player/MP4. If I want to go to the next slide when the movie is in play mode, the audio stops not at the output.  I can't make an action to the exit because audio is not a tip, but the Web object Action. Am I missing something obvious here?

  I'm sorry but I don't know if it's possible with HTML 5. You can publish the course as an MP4 and put it on a Web page, but which is not interactive. You can also publish to PDF and do, but who will not stay on the same page Web that the pdf will download or open in another window.

• Captivate 9: States of smart objects are not allowed on the slide master?

  If someone can tell me I'm wrong (the 'question' I write I guess) then please do - and tell me what I don't see in this program. THX!

  I have a series of large module has just completed for a high-profile pharma sales force - all built in my former 8. Captivate any software. Should I build a custom interface and completely brand (as it usually is) and do not use search gawd-awful, teacher friendly, built in stuff. All controls in the interface/shell are on slide master (as they should be) - and they are dynamic objects that use images in their States of a button. Worked very well! A master slide to any other, quiz, for precedent... get it. Plus - I complex animations that require a certain work come in the content area of a position backstage - so master slide items MUST be chosen as always on top (another reason to place controls on master slides. Some of my animations are edge animate - then those who are great - but the Captivate timeline based stuff can be 'hidden' obviously.

  Guess what? Captivate 9 not only broke all the controls (and all the custom actions of the art btw)-who needed to be rebuilt using their new 'States' method - but for some bizarre reason Adobe brilliantly REMOVED says abilities completely, all the objects that are placed on leaves of masters... WHY! Now - projects that I opened in it (which where ideally converted to C9 now) have not any comment Visual user for my custom shell (no State to overthrow) controls. I am the only man that creates custom controls and requires them to be the most logical place... slide masters? I am at a loss with this absurd forgotten - especially when it was already possible in Captivate 8. People really bad call.

  If all goes well - can someone tell me I'm a fool and I don't see a button somewhere...

  Transitional orders are not created by the servlet pipeline. Analog closest in the servlet pipeline is that CommerceProfileRequestServlet for automatic connection only, will load an existing profile, order creating an OrderImpl object in the session for this order.

  Transitional, new orders are created in your page code reference to the ShoppingCart.current (call OrderHolder.getCurrent () in the code). For a registered user, it will not be possible unless this user has no current order from a previous visit, but for anonymous users (if orders and anonymous users are not kept), it will tend to occur with any new visit (after expiration of the previous anonymous session) as most of the pages on a site of commerce reference ShoppingCart.current.

  Two of these behaviors are perfectly correct and necessary for ATG Commerce to work. No attempt should be made to prevent them. If you think all this is causing a problem for your site, you should put a thread on this problem itself, and I don't know there will be proposals on how to avoid it.
