Captivate gel in LMS lesson

I'm having a problem with some of my courses of Captivate and I hope someone might be able to help. I have 6 lessons which were published on a LMS system, but only one of them seems to work constantly. Each lesson has 5 quiz questions that are worth 10 points, the student is required to get 4 of the 5 correct questions. A passing grade is required on the quiz. The quiz allows 999 tries to get the correct answers.

We load classes of our LMS, which is the SAP LMS. The problem I have is when I go through the lesson, deliberately fail, click on resume and then log off. When I connect, I'm on the issue, that I logged on, but the quiz freezes when I answered the first question. The correct feedback appears with a yellow outline around him and the quiz does not advance to the next slide. If only I disconnect again, he is still frozen when I log in.

I have more than one lesson that does not have this, but a few who do. I don't know if the problem is something with my settings (can't see what I'm doing differently between those who work and do no work) or if it is a framework of LMS.

I've attached screenshots of my settings in case there is someone who may have experienced something similar.

Try to set the LMS report percent instead of Score.

Set the necessary decline until option (to perform an obligatory passage can cause problems, especially if using data curriculum vitae bookmarking).

If you are currently using SCORM 1.2 try SCORM 2004.

Disable data summary bookmarking via LMS customization > check the box never send the CV database.  (if you get everything works fine, you can try to use bookmarking later... but he has been known to cause problems with some LMS)

  • Some computers cannot see Captivate 4.0 to LMS lesson

Hi guys, we have been very successful to display Captivate 4.0 lessons in our LMS for 2 years, but now we have some very strange things happening.  OF THE 50 + lessons, about 3 lessons on the LMS can be considered on some computers.  We know that the problem is with the Captivate swf file.  On problem computers, the SWF seems to load for 2 seconds and then we get a black screen, or we get just a black screen from the beginning. Computers that can view files (and which lessons have been published), have Flash player 8.  The lessons have been published as AS2 and Flash Player 8.

Two lessons problem have animations that were imported as the FLA, we also made a few localization (English/Spanish) by importing a file of legend legend/close in the Captivate file. We have done import of legends to many more lessons, but only these 3 act strange.

Lessons are scormed, but this isn't the issue because we have tried to show only the SWF to a lesson in unscormed and we do not understand about computers 3 problem. The problem occurs with Internet Explorer and Firefox. Computers where we cannot see the 3 lessons have Viewer Flash 11.

I have "outsourced" activities to see if that is the question, but that did not fix anything.

    Help!

We have isolated the problem. A quiz question slide - déposer was causing the problem with Flash player 10.3 and 11. We changed drag and drop to an option from the drop-down list and it works now.

  • Captivate 8 - project published in smaller than Captivate files 6 LMS?

    Hello!

    I had a 'small' problem - haha.

When I publish a project in Captivate 8 (original size: width: 1024px | height: 768px) in our LMS, it appears almost half the size (width: 584px: height: 438px) other files (which belong to the entire training).

Old projects were made with 6 Captivate.

I wouldn't change a thing, I just open the file .cptx with CP8, saved and published (HTML5 only).

There is a problem with Captivate 8 or is the problem on the LMS side?

(PS: Sorry, I don't know exactly what LMS this is, but it is said LMS3 (of schenck.de AG))

    It solved!

The problem was on the side of LMS! The container-size space was too small!

    LMS-owner changed after my request.

  • export the output result Adobe captivate for moodle LMS

Please, I'm new to adobe captivate,

I am working on a project and we use Moodle as LMS, I developed some learning to be a student using adobe captivate. The learning material has a few quiz inside (tutor marked quiz).

My challenge is that I want to be able to put the scores of quiz for each student in moodle, as the student takes the learnig material.

I published adobe captivate Flash file.

    Thank you

After you have created your package SCORM (usually a zip file), see the info here:

  • Hyperlink in Captivate courses closed LMS window

Someone has to meet this problem before?  I created a small pool in Captivate 5.5.  Some slides so that users can connect to and open a long video, we stayed on a hosting service.  When I preview the courses in Captivate, the link works fine.  The website opens and I can run the video.  But when I publish in our LMS (HealthStream) and try to make a link to the video, the LMS window closes immediately without going through the Web site.  This could very well be an LMS issue, but I'm desperate and hoping that someone else ran into this problem with HealthStream or other LMS.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have the updated link to open the video link in a new blank browser session or in the same browser?

One thing to note here is that SCORM course were not initially designed (according to the SCORM standard) to connect outside of the module for all other content.  They are supposed to be completely autonomous units of learning.  Linking outside the SCORM module and open other windows, you can run the risk of disruption of communication with the LMS via the SCORM API.  Maybe that's why your LMS ends the session.  It could interpret your link to the video on the hosting service as a sign that you have finished reviewing the module.

If the hosted video is FLV or F4V, have you tried streaming in the Captivate module like video slide instead of open it in a new browser session?

  • Captivate 4 LMS books

    Hello

First of all, sorry for my bad English: I'm french.

Please can someone help me: I didn't not can launch my captivate on my LMS project: the written message is: archive is not the standard of SCORM 2004 (3rd or 4th ed)

I already check the content folder of several files, but I don't know exactly what types of files are needed.

I work with captivate 4 and my LMS are MOS and syfadis.

Of course, I followed the user guide and I put a cross in "Zip files" and "export to html".

I don't no why, but I can not attached the photos with all the files in the zip folder. If necessary, I'll try later.

I think that my file is exported as a course and not a resouces. Can I change this with a parameter?

    Thanks in advance

    One more thing...

You can't just group all your Captivate modules inside a zipper and expect it to be compatible with the LMS.

If you try to have several modules of courses within a single zip file to import into your LMS, then you will need to use the Multi-SCO Packager application that comes with Captivate 4. It creates a SCORM compatible zip file and writes the correct in the imsmanifest.xml file code so that the LMS knows where all the modules inside the packaging.

  • Control the behavior of first day of lesson?

I have a question that could be more LMS related, but I thought that I have post it on a forum of Captivate since I was on Captivate to the happy end of my project. In a Word, my client wants to use a lesson in captivate as both a lesson and as reference material.

Now, when I'm creating a Captivate project and publish the project behavior is as follows:
    1. the user lesson and start meeting slides.
    2. If the user leaves the lesson at the beginning the LMS brand the lesson as "incomplete".
    a. Captivate bookmarking brings them to where they had left it when they enter again in the lesson.
    3. If the user has successfully completed the lesson, the LMS brand as 'complete' (or if it's a quiz, they might have a score).
    a. If the user enters the lesson "full" Captivate (bookmarks, I think) lead immediately at the end of the lesson.

I want the user to go instead to the beginning of the lesson if they re-enter the lesson once second (or third), so that they can review the lesson. I want the LMS to keep the highest score, or at least not too write the previous note.

I put Captivate "never send back data." This allows the user to get a lesson already completed at the beginning of this lesson. Unfortunately, it also resets the complete/incomplete LMS mark data. An already completed lesson could again be marked as being "incomplete" or a lesson already 'spent' could be seen as 'impossible '. This isn't the desired behavior.

Ideally, the user would be able to return to the lesson, starting with the new beginning, keep score, they realized previously and be able to use the 'lesson' as reference material.

I've seen this done with pure Flash, but I would like to be able to Captivate.

Anyone could do such a thing using Captivate? Any ideas?

    Thank you

    TPK

If the LMS replaces the previous note with a subsequent note is
until how behaves the LMS. Some may offer you an option to change this
    behavior?

With the LMS I use, it will overwrite the previous score if the lesson
If not yet completed/past, the new score is higher than the former.
If the lesson is completed/past, this score is never crushed.

Regarding Captivate resume feature, the only way I know to have users
back to top once they return a completed course is to put a
button on the last page that says something like "restart this lesson".
Clicked and the CP file navigates to the beginning slide
but (I don't think) resets the quiz data.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, CP you cannot say 'to bookmark this users.
location, unless they have completed the lesson, in which case send them
back to the beginning". You must do this yourself with the last page
    above button workaround solution.

  • Viewers and students need a Captivate license?

In view of Captivate for a project.  I have three questions.

Although I agree with Captivate and create a lesson, don't display on my Web site for students see?

    Must students Captivate subscription?

If I stop my subscription, I understand that I can create is more contained Captivate, but would have contained precedent still work?

Thanks for anyone who can help you.

Yes, you can publish a lesson of Captivate (project) to HTML5 or HTM/SWF output and download these files published on your Web site for others to view in their browser.

None of your students need not sign-up Captivate to view your lessons.  They just need a web browser that is compatible with HTML5 (almost all are now) or have the Flash Player plugin (less so).  For mobile users, you can use HTML5.

If you stop your subscription, you can not create content, but previously published content still works.  Please note that if you created content with a trial version of Captivate, it will stop working after about 15 to 30 days (depending on where you are in your trial period).

  • Watch one a Captivate project 9

Are there requirements of system for someone to view a Captivate using an LMS project? I know there are required to download and use in captivity, but the viewer has the same requirements on their computer as it is just that they are viewing the project online and download.

    Thank you very much.

All they need is a web browser.  If the release of Captivate SWF is then the web browser must also a Flash Player plugin.  If the output is HTML5 then their browser must be evaluated as compliant HTML5.  (So nothing earlier than IE9)

  • Impossible to analyze the first user name of variable LMS

    Hi all

I'm looking to use the LMS username as a variable in my class.

I used the following link to get the value of the variable: display name of your LMS using Adobe Captivate to the 6.x - CaptivateDev.com student

    Details: Captivate 8

LMS appears under the name form, first of all.

Figured out how to change the line of javascript in question.

Normally the StudentName is listed as: name, first name

To JUST display the first name use this-->sName=sName.split(', ')[1]

  • Take a quiz

After a learner has used the maximum attempts and has not RAS is the best way to let them resume training early on, that would give them more chances to resume the quiz from scratch?

If a piece of "standalone", not in an LMS, then the likely quiz resets whenever she launched, no?

To be served from the LMS, then it is something that you do/all through the LMS. Are you definition attempt of the limits in the piece of Captivate or LMS, or both?

As a general rule, Captivate will keep track on the revival of the LMS. The only way to reset these data is to do it via the LMS (lesson of reset, clear data, something like that).

  • Is the matching question type supported when publishing to HTML5?

I'm using version 9.0.2 and when I saw this slide works.  If I check it before that it is loaded in our LMS, it works.  However, once it is loaded in our LMS, I get the picture below.  It's a question of HTML5, because it works when published as a SWF file, or is it a problem with our LMS?

    drop_down

It's a shame, it would have been the best way to check if it's because of Captivate and the LMS.

Checked to see if the matching question has worked, and he did as expected.

  • Modules completed rereading

    Hello it Captivate colleagues!

I've shopped around to see if this topic has already been covered, but I was unable to find information that addresses my question.  I appreciate any help I can get.

    Here's the scenario:

I use 7 Captivate and I created several modules I want users to be able to re - take the modules after initial completion.  In other words, users need to be able to replay modules at a later date for retraining of the material.

Each module contains a confirmation of learning at the end.

I published the meanders of our LMS and when you navigate to the 'post completion' course, the course shows the slide of completion and will not let you return to it.

It would be nice if the course would be "reset" as if it was the users first to take it.

    Here are the questions:

    1. the replay feature modules completed early reside in Captivate or our LMS?

    2. If the feature is in Captivate, what a setting, or do I need to create navigation for it (e.g. the 'home' button or 'replay')

    3. is it possible to "reset" a module filled with a user so that they can consult them again as if it were the first (for example, reset advanced actions and confirmation of learning)?

If it is a SCO, you can check the option 'Never send RESUME data' you will find under the Advanced button in the notification preferences (where you put in place under the authority of the LMS). In this case the course still restarts from the beginning. Everything will be reset. FYI: variables are always reset.

There may be such a feature within the LMS, but it depends on the LMS itself.

  • Performance criteria vs. success criteria?

What is the formal difference between completion criteria and the criteria for success as part of the library of modules within the premium?

    Hi Peter,.

Please see the below description on the State of completion state Vs success in first Captivate and other LMS as well-

SCORM 1.2, it is stated of status that only one course with the possible values of 'Done', 'Incomplete', 'Success' and 'failure '. So with a single value, it was difficult to determine exactly how the learner actually carried out in the course.

This problem has been fixed in Scorm 2004 where celibacy has been replaced by two - completion status and the status of success. The completion status shows mainly the completion of the course as 'Complete', 'incomplete', etc. While the State of success shows mainly the performance of learners as 'Success' or 'failure '. We can now differentiate between all the possible scenarios.

    Kind regards

    Ajit

  • I'm a newbie here, I apologize in advance! Have some general questions

Where can I publish a new course? On my own server?

What I have to upload to a server Adobe?

Users access the course entering the URL and then connect?

Is a user must download an application or software?

Can a user download an image file that will be visible on their page?

Yes that's correct.  Captivate is the authoring tool.  But to make things a bit confusing, Adobe has recently released its own LMS called first Captivate.  However, the two products are not the same.

So Captivate allows you to create your SCORM compliant course to load on a LMS system and you can use first Captivate as the LMS, or you can use one of the other 600 or so LMS applications that exist on the market.
