Capture Device Driver evil run on the computer.

Hello. I have a USB capture device that worked very well until I think it's the video editing software that it was bundled with the damn. I uninstalled the video editing software (was too big for my computer anyway) the device and its driver manager several times, but my computer won't recognize when I plug. The bubble of installation indicates that she installed correctly while Device Manager only lists it as an unknown device (he used to list by name) and properties manager says that a driver is not installed, while at the same time told me that the best driver that it is installed, it indicates also that it is plugged in audio wise with the chime you hear when you connect a USB device , but immediately after chimes that it was unplugged, even if it is not. What is happening here and how I might be able to fix? Windows recommends a replacement, but I hope it won't be necessary. The device driver manager is installed in the menu programs and features, and the USB driver is installed in Device Manager.

  • CD drive disappeared completely from the computer!

My CD/DVD drive has disappeared from my computer. I looked in the peripheral and nothing found, managed computer Manager and got nothing, used Microsoft Fixit and got no where and I entered in the registry to try to remove the filters of upper/lower case, but I don't see them where. It worked one day and then the other, he does not. I don't know what to do! I have an Acer Aspire 5520 with an Optiarc drive.

    Hello

-No restart - power for a few minutes, so there is a full hard reset.

It's my generic convenience store - please start at the top here and jump down nothing even if
you've done it before as it is often the set of operations which solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Hope these helps.

Your comments 'tolérable Sun' and 'easy assistance' are not understandable, could you please clarify?  If you are worried about someone on the Internet access to your PC, you must have the software firewall (Windows Firewall) and equipment (router).  This combined with the password will be the bulletproof 99% of your machine.

  • Is it possible to generate scripts the assignment of drive letters, such as the computer will remember each reader the same way with every new beginning?

    * Original title: Windows 7 - letters card readers

I have a laptop computer when it is in a dock, it will have two hard drives connected.  It will also in most cases, a USB flash drive connected in and out of the dock.

These discs are used for the back to the top of file transfer and I always wish to have the same assigned to them to drive letters.

When I was with Windows XP, the computer remembered the mapping and each player has been located at the same place every time.  However, now I've upgraded to Windows 7 and is not only the computer remember the drive letter every time, it disconnects regularly readers.

My question is: is there a way to the assignment of drive letters, such as the computer will remember each script will travel the same with every new beginning?

I can live with it disconnect readers, but it is precisely an effort to use disk management to change the drive letter for each reader, whenever a re-start of your computer.

  • CD/DVD drive not detected on the computer... Dell said to reinstall Vista

I have a Vostro 1500 running Vista Basic. My CD/DVD not detected on my computer drive. I looked in Device Manager and there is a yellow alert. When I look at the properties of my drive, there is an error "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ». I ran the PSA and all tests passed. I wasn't able to install an updated driver because the device is not detected on my computer. It is listed in the BIOS.
I called Dell support week last to try to understand the problem. After about 2 hours of doing the things I had already done including the installation of new drivers (drivers installed not because the system does not detect the drive), they decided to send me a new CD drive. I received it this morning and it's another brand than what I had before, but I don't think it's a problem. The new drive I received today does not work either. It has the same problem as the original drive. I contacted Dell support online today and after explaining my situation together again (what is the use for a no of cases when I explain the problem 5 times in any case?) is first sent to a Microsoft for Windows XP KB (I use Vista so it's of no use at all) and then told that my registry is corrupt and I need to reinstall Windows. I don't buy it, but I told the tech that I was willing to humor. So, here am I, there is no information on the Microsoft support site I can find related to this specific error code. There are a lot of XP, but like I said, it's of no use to me using Vista.  My patience is wearing very thin with this situation and Dell.
Someone has any suggestions, advice or anything before I chuck the stupid thing out the window? =)

  • The error that says that I have not installed hard drive when I start the computer. Also, when I clicked on my D drive, he told me to the disc is damaged and inaccessible

    Original title:

Determine the manufacturer of HD computer. Go to the manufacturer's website and download their software/utility to check the Dowload HD it and burn it to CD or DVD according to the instructions. Boot from the disc newly manufactured. Run the utility to verify. If necessary, replace the HD and restore backups.

  • My WD external HARD disk usb device does not appear in the computer on XP and Win7, but appears in the system tray?

I have 2 GB external usb external hard drive that appears in the XP and Win7 system tray, but not in my computer/workstation?

When I go to the management of computer disk/storage/management - is not there in XP but it is for Win7.

How to work various PC and diferent OS?

If you view the contents of the external drive, I think that the first folder contains a USB driver that you need to install to run properly, if you cannot view the contents of drive I'm sure you can download the driver for Western Digital. I think that the work of readers well on Windows 7 installs with 3 USB ports, but drivers are needed for USB 2.

  • Cannot defragment the hard drive AND cannot start the computer in safe mode

I have been unable to defragment my hard drive because it tells me that chkdsk /f planned.  I tried manually works in command mode nothing works.  I was advised to try to start up in safe mode, but when I do that all I get is a screen of command lines, and my computer freezes there.  What I'm doing wrong and what I can do differently?

If you try to defragment a volume and see a message like this:

Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (c :))
    Please run Chkdsk /f.

This means that the volume (disk) that you want to defragment was marked 'dirty' XP.

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

You can check the status of your bit of impurity from a command prompt window.

To do this, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window.

For example, to query the bit of impurity on drive C, type:

    fsutil dirty query C:

    The sample output:
    Volume c is dirty
    Volume C: is dirty

Is the volume of your sale or it is not dirty?

The only way to disable the on a volume's dirty bit is to run chkdsk with error correction.

You can click on start, run and enter in the box:

    Chkdsk /r

Click OK and answer Yes to schedule the chkdsk next time XP restarts, restart your system and keep your fingers crossed that the chkdsk /r clears the dirty bit (you may need to run once or twice).

If who disobeys, then you will need to start in the XP Recovery Console and run the chkdsk /r from there.

    Hello

It slowed the computer and check the new disc repeatedly. Then it wouldn't start without the external drive at all but it was working fine once he was conducting with the external hard drive. So thinking I can outsmart the computer, I uninstalled the drive from Control Panel. Now it primer not at all. The computer lights up briefly and then goes out of itself almost immediately, is there a solution to this? Thank you

    Original title: startup problem

    Hi SomBhattacharya,

Please try the possible fix following first thanks to Carey Frisch:

    1. open the BIOS of the motherboard.
    2. find where it says Priority Boot Device, then select CD/DVD-ROM 1, 2nd Hard Drive and disable all the rest.
3 find somewhere in the BIOS where it says BOOT USB, Wake on USB, etc. and disable all unnecessary options.

And second if it does not help, you can try the following with Blue Michael:

Local Geek Squad had me intentionally set the BIOS to the correct order, then re-order and SAVE.
It worked, even if the list of the BIOS was always in the right order.

    I hope this helps!
