I have 6 GB of RAM (recently installed the last 2 GB).  Currently, the operating system is OS X 10.11.3.  I think that since this OS has been installed (a few months ago) the machine has slowed down considerably.  "Outputs page" is almost always up.  I re - often starts to get "page outs" to reset, but they will soon get back to the top.  Almost any process bothers me a lot of activity "beachball".  My main use for this computer uses iPhoto to show slide shows to various groups (I have not found that the Photos should be for various reasons).

  I know that this is considered a 'old' machine, but since it is my secondary computer I would not spend the money on a complete replacement.  Is it possible to go back to an earlier version of Mac OS X? That could accelerate or put less strain on, this Macbook?  If I could go back to 10.10 or 10.9 How would I do it?
