Card mother Windows 7 OEM RMA would

I bought a license of Windows 7 Home Premium recently for a new construction of the computer. However, I discovered pretty quickly that the motherboard had to be that would be RMA. I just got a call from the company saying that they could not repair the motherboard, so they send a renovated version of the same model.

Looking through the support forums, I found this thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/replacing-motherboard-on-system-running-oem/9aed1ae6-99f9-477a-940b-d8d9003f9246 that says it may be possible even if it is an OEM of Windows version. Is it possible to transfer the license to a damaged motherboard?

You can use the same license, since it is a refurbished motherboard, you will need to reactivate by phone if:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Prior to read, I am posting this on an another laptop.* *.

Recently, my mother crashed and stopped working on me.

I bought a PC pre-engineered with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 BIT OEM installed on it. From what I've read so far, if I have the same exact motherboard model I should be able to replace it with death and Windows 7 will continue to work, but I can't find a seller for my motherboard, so I can't replace it.

Is it possible for me to transfer my license I got from the Win 7 OEM for a new motherboard?

OEM is related to the original material so no you can't "transfer."

If you change your motherboard, at the very least, you must make a
Repair the installation. And in some cases, this is not enough and you
need to do a clean reinstall.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline S5610y card mother Windows 7

I bought my office a year ago and THREE WEEKS.  The motherboard is "slaughtered."  I can't find a replacement.  Help.  I can't afford to buy a new computer every year.  I read somewhere, that HP has become aware of the problem with this motherboard.  Thank you for your help.

Call HP and ask if they can help you in some way. Depending on when you bought the computer and when their warranty value system to date, you can have a bit left of warranty. If the system says you're out of warranty, I can try to get a direct e-mail for you.

  • Can I switch to an Intel Pentium D 945 on a card mother Napa-GL8E?

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion a6403w with an Intel Dual - Core processor E2160 (1.8 GHz) on a card mother Napa-GL8E. I would like to know if it is possible to switch to an Intel Pentium D 945 (3.4 GHz) on this motherboard. Before that everyone goes to the top and say no, I read a few post image Core 2 s running on this motherboard. And if an Intel Pentium D 945 would not work, what else would be a good upgrade for my PC? Thank you.

(Edit: Opps, I posted this in the wrong forum.)

    Computer a6403w and Napa-GL8E pages care about motherboard;

    Type of socket: 775
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades
Intel Core 2 Duo (Wolfsdale) E8xxx
    Core 2 Duo E6xxx until E6850 (Conroe)
Pentium (Conroe) E2xxx series with Dual Core E2160 technology
    Core 2 Duo E4xxx (Conroe)
Celeron 4xx series (Conroe) until Celeron 450

Based on this information, the Pentium D 945 only is not supported on this platform. Referring to your "multiple posts reading" on quad-core Core 2 on the Napa, the information relates mainly to non - OEM versions (read no HP) of the Board of Directors. Sumsolstice mentions the internal docs showing micocode updated but does not purely and simply that it will work. The best processor would probably be the Core 2 Duo (Wolfsdale) E8xxx series.

  • the upgrade card mother DM3-Pavilion

    Hello

My 4 year Pavilion dm3, recently died on me. It's a little elegant machine, I wanted to wear around and who was always OK for occasional daily tasks. For these reasons and others, I would at least try to replace the defective motherboard and revive.

The model I bought is a dm3-1003tx exotic model (bought in Thailand, especially with a keyboard QWERTY/thai), with Intel SU7300 and discrete nVidia GeForce G 105 M graphics chip.

Given that the original motherboard is not easy to find (PN 584079-001, only a couple of bids on ebay of the Japan), can someone tell me:

-If it's OK to replace it with an another based SU7300 of motherboard (can be with or without the nvidia chip - I really don't need it).

-or even better upgrade to a motherboard of SP9300 based to get a performance gain? If so, should I expect any change (it looks that the consumption of energy and the frequency of the buses are higher with the SP9300 then maybe RAM...?)

Is there any tool available around compatible HP part numbers?

    Thank you

No, there is not a matrix of cross, useful reference because it would be. I think that HP is simply too many different models and parts for someone to keep track of it all. HP Service is inspired by replacement with the same part number so their internal service people wouldn't even have much use for such a thing, just us end users.

Motherboards have the processor soldered to the and there is only a single part number for the fan/radiator Intel stated so I would say that if you replace your motherboard with it:

    580663 001

with the SP9300, you'll be able to reuse your fan/radiator. In the case where you don't have it here is the repair:

    Manual

All models use the DDR2-800 memory and accept up to 8 GB. Different motherboards all seem to have the same ports and such and will have the same anchor points. You could even theoretically install a card mother AMD-based, but this would require to reinstall an operating system, and I wouldn't trade an Intel processor for an AMD processor in any case unless AMD have been much cheaper. A Committee from AMD would also require a different radiator, however.

You can buy the SP9300 motherboard for $45 shipped on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/580663-001-HP-Compaq-motherboard-Pavilion-dm3-Intel-laptop-W-SP9300-CPU-581467-0-/400445142883?PT=motherboards&hash=item5d3c63f763

The same seller also has the SU7300 for a few dollars less:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/584078-001-HP-dm3-1000-laptop-motherboard-w-Intel-SU7300-1-3GHz-CPU-/400600978029?PT=motherboards&hash=item5d45add26d

I bought a little of this seller and it looks like they have a lot of them on the spot so must have dismantled a certain dm3s. Maybe if you call them they can steer you in a way or another based on real practical experience. I confess that I have the opportunity to work on this exact model.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards

  • Windows xp professional compatibility with card mother i5 to intel

    Hello
I want to upgrade my pc to the card mother i5 intel. Windows xp professional compatible?

Yes, but in order to be check secure web site of technical support from the manufacturer of the motherboard for Windows XP device drivers. If the drivers are available for download, then you know for sure that XP is compatible.

If you have the original version of XP or a CD with a Service Pack (1 or 2) earlty, it allows to upgrade the CD with Service Pack 3 "slipstreaming".

  • I want to improve my card mother and CPU on my PC. Can I use transfer windows settings for it?

I want to improve my card mother and CPU on my PC. I like to keep all my settings from my games, etc, so I don't have to buy/purchase new and purchase/buy a new OS Win. I am running Win 7 Pro. What is the best way to address the issue? I keep my OS on a SSD and all the other stuff is on a separate HARD disk. Basically, I need to install the new chipset and other pilots MB.

You can save files and settings and restore to the new installation of Windows, but the games cannot be guaranteed. Just give a try. If it works, it's fine. If this isn't the case, you must reinstall the games.

  • Error 0X0000007E Stop after installing the new card mother and CPU.

Original title: Stop error after installing the new card mother and CPU.

After I installed a new motherboard and CPU I got a stop error 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XB77EA756, 0XB84C742C, 0xB84C7128) and it restarted immediately. It always starts in safe mode, but I can't understand what is wrong. The old processor is a pentium 4 3 ghz, not sure what the motherboard was, new processor is AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual core 4200 + and I only know that the motherboard is an ASUS socket AM2. Device Manager does not recognize the CPU correctly, it shows just two entries called processor. As far as I can tell, it's almost certainly a driver issue, but I don't know how to diagnose or fix this. I am running windows XP home, I removed my video card, running 2 hard drives at 120 g (M) and 200 g (S), a DVD drive (M) and a reader of CD (S), and a stick of RAM to 1 GB.

If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

    I hope this helps.

  • Key to PC upgrade/Windows 7 OEM

I have a Dell Vostro 220, which is about 5 years old. Following a recent update to Photoshop, I find that I have problems with the 4 GB of RAM constraint, imposed by the motherboard and also the OEM Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.

So I intend to replace the card mother/cpu and 8 GB of RAM stick, keeping the original case and readers. I'll obviously have to use a 64-bit version of Windows. I read that my Windows 7 Pro 32 bit OEM key will work with the 64 bit version if I do a fresh install, but I would like to know if the upgrade of the mother/cpu/ram card will complicate things. Does it matter to Windows 7 that the hardware has been changed?

    Thanks in advance.

OEM license is valid on the initial PC OEM can support material that belongs to them.

When you change the motherboard, you basically have a non Dell motherboard and the system locked preinstallation mechanism denies the system like theres a BIOS non - Dell.

You can always change the CPU (if only it fits into the motherboard) and RAM. Probably something that will help a lot is the installation of Windows 7 64 bit on a Solid State Drive.
