the upgrade card mother DM3-Pavilion

Hello

My 4 year Pavilion dm3, recently died on me. It's a little elegant machine, I wanted to wear around and who was always OK for occasional daily tasks. For these reasons and others, I would at least try to replace the defective motherboard and revive.

The model I bought is a dm3-1003tx exotic model (bought in Thailand, especially with a keyboard QWERTY/thai), with Intel SU7300 and discrete nVidia GeForce G 105 M graphics chip.

Given that the original motherboard is not easy to find (PN 584079-001, only a couple of bids on ebay of the Japan), can someone tell me:

-If it's OK to replace it with an another based SU7300 of motherboard (can be with or without the nvidia chip - I really don't need it).

-or even better upgrade to a motherboard of SP9300 based to get a performance gain? If so, should I expect any change (it looks that the consumption of energy and the frequency of the buses are higher with the SP9300 then maybe RAM...?)

Is there any tool available around compatible HP part numbers?

Thank you

No, there is not a matrix of cross, useful reference because it would be. I think that HP is simply too many different models and parts for someone to keep track of it all. HP Service is inspired by replacement with the same part number so their internal service people wouldn't even have much use for such a thing, just us end users.

Motherboards have the processor soldered to the and there is only a single part number for the fan/radiator Intel stated so I would say that if you replace your motherboard with it:

580663 001

with the SP9300, you'll be able to reuse your fan/radiator. In the case where you don't have it here is the repair:

Manual

All models use the DDR2-800 memory and accept up to 8 GB. Different motherboards all seem to have the same ports and such and will have the same anchor points. You could even theoretically install a card mother AMD-based, but this would require to reinstall an operating system, and I wouldn't trade an Intel processor for an AMD processor in any case unless AMD have been much cheaper. A Committee from AMD would also require a different radiator, however.

You can buy the SP9300 motherboard for $45 shipped on eBay:

http://www.eBay.com/ITM/580663-001-HP-Compaq-motherboard-Pavilion-dm3-Intel-laptop-W-SP9300-CPU-581467-0-/400445142883?PT=motherboards&hash=item5d3c63f763

The same seller also has the SU7300 for a few dollars less:

http://www.eBay.com/ITM/584078-001-HP-dm3-1000-laptop-motherboard-w-Intel-SU7300-1-3GHz-CPU-/400600978029?PT=motherboards&hash=item5d45add26d

I bought a little of this seller and it looks like they have a lot of them on the spot so must have dismantled a certain dm3s. Maybe if you call them they can steer you in a way or another based on real practical experience. I confess that I have the opportunity to work on this exact model.

It always starts in safe mode, but I can't understand what is wrong. The old processor is a pentium 4 3 ghz, not sure what the motherboard was, new processor is AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual core 4200 + and I only know that the motherboard is an ASUS socket AM2. Device Manager does not recognize the CPU correctly, it shows just two entries called processor. As far as I can tell, it's almost certainly a driver issue, but I don't know how to diagnose or fix this. I am running windows XP home, I removed my video card, running 2 hard drives at 120 g (M) and 200 g (S), a DVD drive (M) and a reader of CD (S), and a stick of RAM to 1 GB.

If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

    I hope this helps.

Many AMD Radeon R7 260 X cards must be inserted in your computer, but you will need to measure along the plane of the PCIe x 16 for obstructions location. Most AMD Radeon R7 260 X graphics cards require a minimum of 500 watts power. Yes, you will need to upgrade the PSU. I suggest to consider the Corsair CX500, CX600, CX500M, or CX600M. The CX600 series will offer an extra margin for future updates. The CX600M is a modular, cable management and allowing a better air flow.

  • HP pavilion slimline 400: a problem about the upgrade card chart, power, and a new case

I have a hp pavilion slimline 400 and I want to upgrade the graphics card of it. However, the food is not enough for my new graphics card. The image is too large for this case. SO I decide to buy a new case and PS! Move all the thing inside the hp pavilion slimline 400 to a new case. But I heard someone say that this kind of PC can match the case that we can buy in the store and the cable of the PIN from those of food on the market do not correspond with the motherboard. CAN I really do that?

You will still need a case that supports the Μatx layout.  I/O back plate must be modded or replaced to adapt.  Most cases have both Μatx and ATX layout (dead end of pines).  For some time that this question of stitching was done.  These help?

  • P6-2489ea: upgrading the graphics card on HP Pavilion p6-2489ea

    Hello

I've had my HP Pavilion p6-2489ea for a few years now and I think that time is trying to catch up with feeling and I that the graphics (Geforce GT 630), he drops when I play games - which is the main purpose of the computer.

High-end PC is expensive, you add to that a new graphics card would significantly improve game performance?

If I were to upgrade the card, it would be a very simple process and are most of the cards compatible with my camera?

My CPU: Intel i5 3.10 GHz (4 CPU)

I'm not sure that the motherboard is called I'm sorry.

    Thank you very much

Most of the cards are compatible with your PC due to the predominance of UEFI BIOS video cards in the market. your PC has a UEFI BIOS. Your motherboard is a Joshua

There are a number of manufacturers of video cards that produce UEFI & Legacy vBIOS compatible cards.  I highly recommend that get you one that gives you the opportunity.

A video card updated with more power and memory requires an improved POWER supply. This is because of the requirement for one or two PCIe power connectors provide extra power to the card.

As you use the PC primarily for games, you should consider the upgrade to 16 GB of memory installed.

  • The upgrade of my HP pavilion graphics card computer laptop - please help

Hi I recently bought a HP Pavilion DV6-7029TX, with a third generation i7 quad core and an integrated NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 M 2 GB card graph. I was looking to put the graphic card to something more powerful, however I do not know if it is possible as it says its "integrated". I was wondering if someone could help explain what this means and if I can add a better graphics card for games. Also if its not to much trouble, what would be a good card graphic for games (for things like wow) can improve it if it turns out that I have. Thank you!

  • Upgrading the graphics card on my pavilion

want to upgrade the graphics card to my PC in order to improve the gaming experience to this topic, the absence of a powerful video card is the only thing preventing my games works fine, so I was thinking about upgrading to a 2 GB card, but I don't know if my PC would actually support it or if I could install it at all. Could someone here tell me if I could install this material? Thank you

    Graphics card: here

    Hello

The NVIDIAGTX 650or the NVIDIA GTX 660would be a good choice.  I'd go with the GTX 660 if you want to run at resolutions higher than with the ultra game settings.    The Corsair CX 500 or CX600 would be good choice for a replacement power supply.

The 6 GB of memory in your PC is a little low by RUST, but I would give it a go with the updates above before increasing the memory of your system.

The vehicle currently has graphics Intel HD 4000, but I was wondering if, because it is not as fast as it should to play games like the Sims 3, which could be improved. It is a Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello:

The video card is unable to be upgraded without a complete replacement of the motherboard.

The cost of making such a replacement would likely exceed the cost of trading or selling your laptop and buy one with the desired graphic solution.

Below is the link to the service manual.

Motherboards supported is listed in Chapter 3.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03328663.PDF

Based on the specifications of your laptop, the best video solution is the motherboard with part # 686930-001.

The cost of this motherboard is $447,45.

    Not worth it, IMO.

  • HP ENVY h8-1409: upgrade the GPU card mother IPMMB-FM (Formosa)

I currently have a ti 750 EVGA installed without any problem with this motherboard. The BIOS on this forum is listed as UEFI with a version of 8.21 FRIEND whose date of 21/10/2014.

I'll be able to spend to the 10xx GTX as a 1060 series, or maybe a RX 480 without any obsolete BIOS problem? I know that some old motherboards from HP could not start even a card GTX series 7xx due to an outdated BIOS that HP did not update.

    Hello

You said that the jury is listed with FRIEND 8.21. Check that your PC is running FRIEND 8.21?

You shouldn't have a problem to start the recent graphics cards, if your computer is running a version 8 BIOS. Ensure that the selected card suits and corresponds to the power supply of your PC.

  • HP pavilion e073ed 17: you can replace the graphics card for hp pavilion 17e073ed

I have a HP pavilion 17e073 ed and I want to replace with a better graphics card. The problem is that I can't find anywhere if I can replace the graphics card. I want to replace it for the best benefits of games. I already bought an SSD and some more RAM.

    Hello:

There is no graphics removable, replaceable and upgradable 'cards' in your laptop.

The graphics quite part of the motherboard, and to improve the graphics, you would have to see if there is a motherboard listed in the guide service and maintenance for your laptop that has better graphics.

Replace the motherboard would be a labor intensive and expensive project.

  • The upgrade of my HP Pavilion dv7t - 6 c 00 to Windows 8

    Hello

This weekend, I upgraded my HP Pavilion dv7t - 6 c 00 (that I bought in July) to Windows 8 with the sad result that the drivers for my laptop do not work in Win8. I just had to do a Recovery boot back to Windows 7 (and lost a lot of time and information) because I really need the work of the graphics card.

When the drivers will work properly? When will it be the right time to move again to Windows 8?

    Thanks in advance,

    Felipe

    @morafen24,.

I may have some good news.

I just checked your laptop for Windows 8 drivers driver & support page and it seems there is now a switchable graphics driver available that was not available previously when I checked.

Here is the link if you want to try it.

  • Satellite M45-S169 - overheating and the upgrade card RAM/graphics

    Hello

I have need some answers and solace to the questions I have on my laptop. Here are the following questions:

Laptop overheating fast enough, hereby, I mean in about 10 minutes, the laptop Burns upward. It is the model or is there something wrong with it? I can't keep the laptop without maintaining that it plugged into the wall at all times. That this has something to do with my battery like that I need a new?

I am able to install the new RAM * (2 GB Max) and if yes, someone knows how it slots are for this model? (Not really opened to check because I'm bad to put things together after taking them apart)

I am able to install a new graphics card for the laptop or I'm stuck with ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 M Series? (and if it is not too much to ask, is the graphics card, I have good, bad, or so - so)

Sorry if there are too many questions, but it would be really nice if I get the answers to all these.

    Hi Honu_2,

(1.) you should clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans and read this article please:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=40

2.) Yes, it seems that you need a new battery if your laptop only works with AC/DC adapter connected.

3.), you should check your owner's manual. As far as I know this model supports up to 2 GB of RAM. This means that you can install 1 GB into the two slots.

(4.) the graphics card upgrade is not possible because it s/set soldered on the motherboard and your laptop is designed only for the preinstalled graphics card.

By the way: these questions are already answered here. Check out the forum for similar topics, you will find many interesting things! ;)

  • Can I change the graphics card on HP Pavilion dv7-6c05ev?

    Hi I have a

    HP Pavilion dv7-6c05ev

my laptop is in excellent condition

    Windows 7 64 x

everything about this laprop is great, except the graphics card (radeon 7690 m) there is no real drivers for it.

I was wondering if I can improve my ATI with an NVIDIA graphics card, so I can get good drivers!

    what I can?

    Hello

Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

    1. New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
    2. Need new card system (can be),
    3. Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
    4. May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
    5. Cost of the work.
    6. Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

    I hope this helps.

  • The upgrade card NIC to onboard LAN, Windows 7

Hello everyone. Have a basic question for the upgrade of the Ethernet card or the card NETWORK on my Compaq Presario under W7 Home Premium. Initially, this machine ran Vista. I installed a PCI 3Com NIC {3Com EtherLink 10/100 PCI TX NIC (3C905B-TX)}. Windows Update find the required driver. When this was done I disabled the on-board LAN, this automatically disabled the LAN Boot ROM edge It is advised to disable the onboard LAN or the computer will work without problems with the LAN on board and 3COM PCI card as both enabled. I would appreciate your comments.
