One of the evangelists 'Developer' RIM working outside South Africa, I think, so there should be someone local you can talk too.  If you message Mark Sohm (the RIM name you will see a lot on the forum - MSohm), with your e-mail address and it ask to put you in contact with the Developer Evangelist in SA, which should help.  You can tell Mark to ask me if he needs clarification.  Do not promise anything either but I hope that something will happen.

  • For the blackBerry Smartphones Reset network settings

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to reset the network settings on a Blackberry Curve 8520, I can find on how to do a complete reset but not a network reset. Your would be much appreciated.

    Thank you very much

N.. completely different. For your mobile network, with a strong network carrier (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

For the wireless, there is no sort directly 'reset' nothing beyond removing and reconfiguring of the WiFi network configurations. Beyond that, things as device WIPE, reloading the OS, and other very drastic measures would be required. And, important to note, I have no way of knowing if this is really necessary... you did not no matter what description of what happens, so it is not possible to understand your situation and you give more targeted recommendations.

    Good luck!

  • File system 8330 blackBerry Smartphones?

I currently have a Treo 700W provided company.  Despite its many quirks and flaws, one of its outstanding features for me is the existence of a file system of type windows where downloaded attachments (or sync files) can be stored in memory or an SD card.  My company pushes us to the BB Curve 8330 devices, and I probe to see if the 8330 has a file system.  I read a lot of posts here, including some really excellent URL provided by tanzim on the download, display, and the same change accessories various.  It's still not clear to me, however, if I can actually save a file in memory of BB or a microSD card.  TIA.

When you receive an attachment in an email:

    Open the email

    Highlight the attachment

    Press the trackball to open

Once the attachment is open... y UO will then be able to view the attachment

Press menu again and click on 'save the attachment.

You will then be asked to save it to the memory of the device or "media card".

I save on a media card as for not using the memory of the device... This can slow down the device during the recording of many attachments.

    Hope this helps,

  • Coverage PINK Blackberry Curve 8330 BlackBerry Smartphones Will come up on my Blackberry Curve 8320?

So, I want to buy a pink lid for my Blackberry Curve 8320. However, when I look on eBay or Amazon, pink rugs say they are for the Blackberry Curve 8330 (I know that Verizon is out with the pink telephone). Is there a difference? Should be always on my phone?

(I mean the real case, not only a pink rubber or case cover to put on my phone)

    Thank you!

Yes, as long as you ALSO replace the keyboard AND the small part that is under the keyboard.

If you have any questions or need to order extra parts, I suggest you call and purchase of Horizon Wireless, they will sell you the correct thing.

  • Defender Otterbox for Blackberry 8330 blackBerry Smartphones

I just bought a case Otterbox Defender for my BB 8330. I have just received in the mail today and so far, it seems to be all that it promises. It has a clear "protective screen" that covers the screen and full keyboard, it has a login in to the trackball and extends on top to cover the back of the phone as well. Then there a hard what they called a hard hi-impact polycarbonate shell, which for me was just very very solid hard plastic. And this part is in two halves. Once you have smoothed all of the air bubbles and alighned properly on the phone screen protector, place it in the hard shell and snap the two halves together. This part was the only thing that I had a problem with. The lower part of it didn't meet, and then once I got it together the top wouldn't stay together. Finally if, after squeezing it together and take it apart and squeezing together again and again hand over and over for about five minutes and with the help of my fiancé, we have managed to fit together. Then it is a silicone so even if one place just fit perfect, his won't go anywhere I don't think skin that extends around all this. It also came with this nice clip Holster that is made of the same stuff that the shell is made of. Put it all together, I don't think it could hurt a bomb. But I will not intentionally fall my phone to find out or the other. Give it time and I'm sure it will happen on its own. Also, this is the link with the Defender for the 8300 Series Otterbox website & you can see good p...

On the website of shopblackberry & otterbox site, they run about $50, but I found mine new on ebay for $32 & free shipping. I hope this review was helpful. I'm not very good at writing of comments, this is actually the first I wrote what it is, but I hope it helps.

The only complaint I have with it so far is the screen protector that spans the back of the phone, where it goes on the camera lens it makes your photos and videos come out blurry. I think I might take my exacto knife and cut a hole for the lens of the camera, because that drives me crazy. I hate blurry photos.

Overall, it feels a bit stocky & heavy, but if it keeps my heavy cottages to destroy another phone, I don't mind. Typing is fine for me, but I have long nails and I type with them, so there is not really anything for the screen protector keep at as it can if you were just using your fingers, so I'm not sure if it would make a difference. If it's in the clip of the case you can still access the trackball and some of the keyboard, but not all that, but if you wanted to just access your music or any other medium you can do without having to remove the clamp from the case. You can still access all the keys on the sides of the phone, the convenience keys, volume keys & the button mute / standby on top. On the left side, he has even a flap in silicone case that covers the USB port and the headphone jack to keep dust and dirt out. Overall, I think I'll like it. I always have not dropped it yet so I don't know how it will be just this area. But when I do I will update the thread.

  • How to download photos from Curve 8330 BlackBerry Smartphones?

    Hello

I am a new user and do not know how to download pictures from a Curve 8330.  Can anyone say about that?  Thank you very much.

    IrwinII,

The mass storage mode only works with a media card on the curve. I think that the "BOLD" is the only phone that can have the internal reader works in mass storage mode.

You can use Roxio Media Manager (download Blackberry Desktop Manager with Media Manager if you don't have it). See this link for a demo.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 Blackberry Smartphones: Spinning hourglass and no email

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 (about two months) on network VerizonWireless. Yesterday, I started to see a spinning hourglass that wouldn't go away, and now I can't receive emails. (I'm not on a customer business). The signal shows 1XEV connection and I see the ' up/down' arrows flashing periodically, but still no email comes through. All except the standard five applications are closed and I tried the option "remove the battery when the unit is running and wait a few minutes before plugging it back" does not. (The hourglass stopped for a few minutes, but came back and I'm still not received my email).

Another challenge is that I use a Mac with OS X 10.4.11, not a PC based on Windows, so I don't have the software Manager to use.

Can someone give me an option before taking this thing back to the store?

@rmaurer: I forgot to mention the battery drain, but the mine who did as well.

The idea of 'everything back and get another' is never very satisfying for me. Especially if I have to keep doing it over and over again (like bobcawman, above), and he never really addresses the problem. If this is the case, then it seems that I bought a bad product, not only got a defective unit.

The solution for me was to back up all my data by using the Desktop Manager, then reload the operating system of the VZW website software. The process was a bit complicated, and I'm sorry, I don't remember the exact steps to share here, but there is an option on the web site for the latest version of the software (4.5 for Verizon, I think). That solved the problem for me so far. I suppose however that the real question, why what is happening with so many people. I've seen many, many messages on exactly the same thing. I wonder if it's an issue just with the previous version of the software, or something more serious with the 8330 in general operating system.

    I'll wait and see...

  • Function of GPS lost 8330 blackBerry Smartphones?

Hello, I'm sorry if this has already been covered, I search, but have not found anything too useful for my situation.  My 8330 on the network Sprint won't let me not use GPS on the phone.  I use the GPS a lot and always worked wonderful for me, but now suddenly it has stopped working, I checked my settings and the GPS is enabled, I tried to use Google maps, Blackberry Maps, Telenav and GPSed.  All of these programs to search for the signal, but the expiration time.  Can someone help me please here!  The phone is less than 1 month and my charger factory already died on me, now the GPS problem, I hope that is not an indication of more problems to come for me on this phone, I got the Samsung Instinct and that the phone sucked, so I bought this phone for the full price (gulp) because I need a phone that will do what I need it to do and then some. I love this phone and everything he does love, but this is getting frustrating!   Thanks for your help, Korey.

    Hello Sophie and welcome.

I would like to start but pulling the battery while the device is on, wait for 30 and reinstall.  The restart delay 1-3 min wait.  Sometimes, this can solve some problems.  Make sure you have your GPS turned on.  As a matter of fact, turn it off, save it, and then on again.  Let us know what happens...

  • MSG for error blackBerry Smartphones 9650 video camera.

    BB bold 9650 6.0

    Verizion

When you try to take a video, the camera starts, but when you try and register it gives MSG: error unexpected, impossible to record the video.

I tried several soft and hard reboots and continue to spread this message.

The video worked when I got on the phone several months ago... can still take pictures and record... but not video... Help!    Thank you

Open your video camera and without press registration, press the Menu key > Options and scroll to the bottom, which is the default place to record your videos? It should be your press card.

So, my question is, is your card support works well and you can access it ok?

You can try another reboot once more?

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

  • Help for 8100 blackBerry Smartphones

    Please help me

I have a Blackberry 8100 Italian who was sold as a handset (Italian mobile operator) of TIM.  I intend to visit the Ireland and wanted to use my BB while there, but when I put a Vodafone sim in it it tells me "invalid sim card".  So I called TIM and asked them to unlock the phone for me.  They told me today (a week after the sending of copies of documents and other things) that the phone is unlocked and on their system is displayed as unlocked.  I also tried a pay site / to / unlock that unlock BlackBerry but they told me that my code was unknown, and that they couldn't open it for me.

I tried to call Blackberry, but you have to pay to fix the problem for you.  What can I do?

The original carrrier brand should have that.

If you want, try Horizon wireless, also for a paid release.

They are reasonable and trustworthy, and I think that if they can't unlock, they won't charge not, but asking the question to them.
