  I don't know what are the instructions you followed, so here is a series of instructions on opening the windows, including how open each instance in its separate window: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/91587-open-folder-same-separate-new-window.html.  Read full article and follow ALL these instructions (there are parts you include in your post that are important to make it work - but then again you probably do not understand everything).

  In the meantime, to open a specific folder in a new window, you can right click on the file and click on open rather than explore.  This will open the folder in a new window.  It's an extra step, but it is a workaround until you find the answer (if the above did not answer it).

  OK, random tabs open in Firefox often enough to really boring. I don't want to go back to IE (ew), but I will if I can not solve this problem. Normally, it's a Google ad that opens, but today, an adult product site open. I have a 13 years old girl who didn't need to see this.

  Here's what I did to try and fix this problem until now...

  -J' uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox to Lea 4 times
  -J' ran Malware Anti-Malware bytes, Ad-Ware, AVG analysis and Super Anti Sypware... several times
  -J' deleted and replaced the WS2_2.dll DLL with a new
  -J' have reconfigured modules according to another support site.

  Anyone got ideas? I really want to go back to IE! Help, please!

  I deleted and start to enter the search string in the URL field.

When I did so all of a sudden got a lot of poping up tabs, then a new window pop Firefox on with a lot of poping up tabs and then a new window. i've got up to 19 poping windows with lots of tabs. I had to close it with the Task Manager.

  This laptop may have problems. am scaning now using an ESET online scanner to see what is happening.

  Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
