Carrier specific simulators

RIM will continue to release the simulators that are carrier specific, as they have done in the past. If not, is it possible for me to customize a simulator for a specific carrier? If so, how? I am not concerned about the external branding on the device as long as the specific themes of the carrier.

I provide my assistance service with simulators for specific carriers that we use as support tools. Technical support does not have the physical devices and are usually not familiar with them. The simulators are so extremely useful to guide visitors from one screen to another on an unknown device. Many carriers using themes customized with a simulator that accurately reflects the differences being perferred.

Thank you

Doug

Yes, RIM intends to continue to release the specific carrier BlackBerry simulators.

There is no mechanism taken care to customize a BlackBerry Simulator for a specific carrier.

  • BlackBerry version of carrier-specific Q10 changing of BB10 on Q10

    Hey people,

I wonder if any of you can help me. I got my Q10 of AT & T (US) at the time when it was out. Due to the rounded general of AT & T, I now switched to another provider. How can I change the specific version of the carrier of BB10 on my AT & T Q10 to my new provider? I know the code of the salesperson must change from 102 to 100, but I can't find a way to do this.

On the old BBOS, I could just delete Vendor.xml and press on any version of the OS, so I dug an old laptop PC (I use Mac now) and I tried that night last but could not make it work.

    Thanks in advance!

In addition to the issue of JSander, TMobile logo appear when you start the device now?  Restart a couple of times.

If this does not work, try the link below:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/BlackBerry-10-OS-device-software/upgrading-BB10-OS-using-Sach...

Modify the instructions in this post and use County Code 310 and carrier code 160 with Q10 as the model and the SQN100-5 Variant.   This will give you the TMobile update for the Q10.

  • Terrible GPS Since his arrival in new carrier

    Hello

I moved from AT & T to tmobile.

I had an iphone 6 with at & t and now have an iphone6s

Since his arrival, all my applications that rely on the GPS are almost unusable. Specifically, cards and my bike app following my tour.

I thought GPS was not carrier specific. Is it not the case?

Thanks for any idea or help

    Randy

The iPhone uses GPS assisted, part of the meaning of the location is derived from nearby cell tower.

I tried from T-Mobile years. They were terrible. The coverage was terrible. I would not be surprised if almost all of this can be attributed to T-Mobile and their towers. They may have improved a bit since I used them, but it's something you will face with them.

  • Switching on an IPAD 2 Air carriers

I just bought an IPAD 2 Air of Verizon and concluded a two-year contract.  He has just arrived with a map "previously inserted Verizon Wireless SIM".  The seller at the Apple store told me that the IPAD was no longer "carrier-specific.  Does anyone know if the Apple SIM card is still in the device and accessible for use with the participating carriers for example AT & T?  Can the card SIM of Verizon may simply be deleted and replaced by an AT & T card in case I want to change carriers - or I am locked into Verizon for the life of the IPAD?

    > Anyone know if Apple SIM card is still in the machine and accessible for use with the participating carriers for example AT & T?

If you buy on Apple store, it should come with Apple SIM card. I'm not sure those who are sold at Verizon. My guess is that they come with Verizon's SIM card because you can not use the Apple SIM card on the Verizon network. It is foolish to sell a device that does not work on their own network, so it must come with their SIM card.

    > Can the card SIM of Verizon may simply be deleted and replaced with an AT & T card in case I want to change carriers - or I am locked into Verizon for the life of the IPAD?

You should be able to use other nano SIM cards, but if you accept the contract of 2 years, the rules may be different (or not). Verizon may block until the unit is fully paid (and/or the 2 year contract is over). Someone posted this in another thread: http://www.imore.com/how-to-pick-ipad-data-plan read the section "factor of Verizon."

Actually, Phil, the system would be came carrier, with specific software for a specific SIM carrier carrier.

If you then change the SIM card to another carrier and having problems to make it work...

It's always a problem of carrier.

All THE problems of card SIM and the carrier specific software are supported BY THE CARRIER, and not by Acer.

When I tried to block my SIM card with a PIN code, I don't know what PIN to enter. Service provider told me that they do not have PIN for their SIM cards. There is only the 2 PINS. I think it is carrier specific so if they don't offer it you can't define it.

  • Update of the software of blackBerry Smartphones

Hi, my wife has a 9320 BB and I have a BB9900. Whenever a software update is available, I tend to update both at the same time via the BB Desktop Software. (the last being 7.1.2061).

Today I plugged BB9320 my wife to the laptop for the load and the BB Desktop Software identified one update, 7.1.2753. In the end, I have connected my BB9900 but no software updates found, can anyone tell why this should be the case please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi londonpride

These device software are developed by BlackBerry, then released by respective carrier specific to each BlackBerry device model, carrier of your wife has published this specific version of the OS for BlackBerry 9320 and for you... you can have the newest software for your carrier device, so you are offered no updates for your BlackBerry 9900.

    • KB19641 How to configure a BlackBerry smartphone as a modem attached to a Mac

Note carefully please that this feature requires your service plan to include the ability... not all levels of service include plan, and not all carriers offer. In addition, sometimes additional software for your computer must be obtained from the carrier. But, carrier specific questions should be directed to the carrier... here, we can only give you the credits information... your operator must provide you with all of the specific information required.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not switch on my bold 9900

    Hello..

last day I kept my bold 9900 for reload and when I came back, it shows a black screen with a battery symbol. I tried to load it once again, while the red light blinks, then switches back to the black screen with battery. then I tried to turn on my phone with the battery of my friends and I could pass on my phone. but after a while the battery got also dried upward and when I tried to load, same problem happened.

I tried every possible way to turn it on. tried to update to os using desktop and web software with or without battery. When she reached the reconnection to the jvm, it displays an error saying: failed to connect the device. tried using jl cmder, but it does not connect the device too saying cannot open the port.

hope that some of you could help me with a solution...

Okay... but in order to solve this and do what, whether you still need a fully charged battery. How to get yours... but you have to do, and you can do when trying to load in the BB.

    (2) went to this peripheral os download page. but the operating system specific carrier. my phone is not carrier specific, as I bought it from the RIM. My carrier is Asia-Pacific - AUNTIE DOCOMO gsm, but they do not have the os 9900 "BOLD".

All operating systems are released by the carriers. Model number any carrier what OS can be used in any device, as long as it's for the exact same. Indeed, it is that deletion of the SELLER. XML files doesn't work - causes Setup to bypass validation the carrier of the source of the operating system against the carrier allocated to the device.

Even if you bought directly from BlackBerry, it will still be originally were for a specific carrier. All BBs have a unchanging VendorID value, which indicates the carrier for which the device was built into their firmware. Even a BB unlocked, which can then be used on any compatible media, retains this original VendorID. And it is in fact only VendorID which is checked against the SELLER. XML files in the operating system package - removing the SELLER. XML files allows to bypass this check, allowing you to use any carriers OS package.

So where can I download 9900 os directly on my desktop software?

Now that you understand the process, you know how to proceed. Choose from companies that take charge of your model, the operating system package you want.

  • Update of blackBerry Smartphones that OS?

I wanted to know if the upgrades of the OS had to be carrier-specific?

I have a Pearl which was purchased originally from Orange UK its 4.2.xxxx running

Can I switch to any 4.5? I found a 4.5 of Vodafone (I'm actually on Vodafone) its on German website, but has all the options of lang.

In general you can use any carrier OS upgrade or should it specific?

Is there the chance of bricking the phone?

Does anyone know whats new/fixed 4.5?

Device software upgrades ARE specific carrier... you can find later trying to download...

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Go to the bottom of the page to choose your provider and your devices model number... should be good to go.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones to upgrade the operating system... again...

No, the OSs are not carrier specific once you remove the file "vendor.xml" as indicated in the instructions.

Your upgrade must regularly backup the current device and charge to save all your messages, data, settings, etc.. Likwise on third party applications, except that if you have any app purchased, be sure to write key registration or prior license codes.

And, just for the future, it is wise to post in the same thread rather than start a new one.

    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones please help me confirm my BB 9630 is unlocked? Thank you!

I have a BB Tour 9630 I recently received from Sprint and want to give it to a nephew as a birthday gift.  His parents are on another carrier (T-Mobile or Verizon - I don't remember) and I want to make sure that it will be able to work.

I disabled the line it's on and checked that all the items in the advanced-> SIM options show that "disabled", but do not know if I understand.  In addition, I was not sure if it will work on any network identity even after being unlocked.

1 is this to say that my phone is unlocked?

2 can be used with all shells?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    Commonwealth says:

1 is this to say that my phone is unlocked?

From your description, I think so... but you should check again with this FAQ:

    Commonwealth says:

2 can be used with all shells?

It's a more complicated issue. It can definitely work for all functions on any carrier that already directly supports this model BB... you can check this page of product specifications for businesses that support:

But it can also run on a carrier network which is compatible with the BB radio. You can check the radio BB here (the 'Network' section) features:

You would have to research to specific carriers that you plan and their radio frequencies to ensure that the BB is indeed compatible with a network of carrier specific or not.

But, be aware that running on a network that does not natively support the BB model would likely result in features limited... it is difficult to get a BB model not supported to achieve full-BB services on a carrier network that does not directly support the BB model (even though the radio frequencies are compatible). Voice services (voice, SMS, MMS) are generally not a problem at all... but BB exclusive data services will be much more difficult. See this FAQ for general guidance:

On supports that fully support the model BB, the complete set of services probably is possible. Formats which do not support the model BB and yet the network and radio BB are compatible, it is likely that only the first or even the second level of services is possible (there are tricks to get the job full level third, but it is tedious and delicate). If the carrier network and radio BB are not compatible, then anything is possible.

Finally, it is really up to the carrier to decide if they allow even the BB on their network. They can say no. The fact that a BB can operate on a network (any level, for example) does not mean that the owner of the network in question will allow him. Really, you should check with the carrier you want to pass in order to be safe and to determine exactly the level of service that won't be possible.

    Good luck!

  • BBM BBM not connected to a specific carrier network

    Hello

Strange, there is a specific carrier that when I'm under is coverage, BBM is offline. I was told that it is due to the fact that this provider has no agreement with BB. I can hardly believe that I am able to use BBM on any WIFI network that Moody has no agreement with anyone.

can someone tell what shell I have to say that carrier to allow BBM?

    I use Z10 running on 10.2

    Thank you.

    Brian,

Thanks for the quick response. I'm happy that the person was OK and even better, I learned something new. I have contact the carrier who said that they do not have an agreement with BB, but I thought that it is irrelevant that I'm on OS10.

The carrier is Golan Telecom in Israel. https://www.golantelecom.co.il/Web/

    Thanks again.
