    Hello

I have a qosmio that runs on 95-100 celzius GPU and 85-90 CPU temperatures while 1 day game.
Then I got shut downs overheating about 9 months later.

I'm going to the service and they clean and rebonding it, he has not stopped more but temperatures remained.

20 days later GPU is dead, they replaced, then 10 months later GPU died once again, I heard Burns inside the laptop.

They have developed a new once again, but after that when I play for 2 hours, screen off somethimes at least once, twice at this time.

I took the laptop to the service for the fourth time, a few days later they say that they have not yet diagnosed dysfunction.

But my biggest concern is that the temperatures are high all this time, I read on the forum of A.s.u.s that guy with that kind of temperatures obtained immediately replace, and the new book got 20 degrees low temp.

Laptop is around the age of 20 months, and my question is:
am I still entitled for replacement or they will just patch every few months so that the warranty expires:(parce qu'ils sont de rabotage pour réparer de nouveau.)

I need for video editing, this is why I bought it, and now for the 4th time my bussines is waiting for a week or two.

Sorry for the long post, im hoping for some response or post where I can request a replacement, thank you.

    > I never receive replacement or they will just patch until a few months before the expiration of the warranty because they plan to fix it again.

As far as I know Toshiba authorized service partner can only repair the laptop and you must make sure that the laptop will be fixed to your full satisfaction.

    > I took laptop to serve for the fourth time, a few days later they say that they have not yet diagnosed dysfunction. But my biggest concern is that the temperatures are high all the time.

From my experience, if the laptop will not automatically, closes the temperature level isn't too high. Usually in case of overheating, the laptop must turn off automatically to protect the internal parts of the damage.

    Hello

It may be an overheating problem and it is normally the main reason for your problem.

    .

If it's a hardware problem, it would not not to restart.

That said, it is possible to have a hairline cracks in the motherboard, etc, which becomes obvious as soon as it warms up.

Check vents for hair, dust, etc. and do not use a laptop when it is based on material surfaces: bedspreads, blankets, etc.

If the problem persists, because it of a laptop, bring it to a local computer and reliable repair shop and get them to open and clean the dust inside...

  • Stop randomly a10

This problem started some time ago, I thought I had fixed it by replacing the hard drive but apparently not.

My just a10 closes down, apparently at random, although it might have something to do with the fans, as often happens when im doing editing audio or video, in fact it happened the other night when I was recording a concert (which was more annoying).

Is this something to do with overheating fans / blocked and if so, is there a simple way to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for any response.

    -Ash

    Hi Ashley,

This does indeed sound like a classic case of overheating. You will find lots of messages describing this problem and recommend ways to fix it in this forum.

The problem is caused by an accumulation of dust and debris that is sucked through the suction air grids and is then trapped in the hestsink CPU to stop any cooling air to pass through.

You can try to suck dust through the grids of aspiration with a vacuum cleaner. Or for a more thorough clean you can remove the radiator and clean debris manually (this will void any warranty of course).

Once cleaned, all that is necessary is to blow through the grid of keatsink periodically to ensure that no dirt is allowed to accumulate.

If you are unable to access this link, it's for a Satellite P105-S6147 under the heading support capsules.

I thought I was relieve a problem that might appear in the future, but what I have now, it's a laptop much warmer that is internal fan turns on constantly even if he is sitting on a laptop cooler. I have had this machine for about a year now (and bought the cooling block at the same time) and I can count the number of times where ever I felt the heat from the machine (I speak from beneath my fingers on the keys).

After a few days of this behavior, I thought I'd do a system restore that would change to original bios and the system restore was successful. However, the laptop still seems more hot than before and the fan kicks on often internal especially when svchost has climbed by about 30% CPU, and if I have several programs open.
Before that, the cooler laptop seems to work enough.

I did no changes of parameters of power, unless the bios flashing brings changes in power settings. But it not always cause feel me the heat from the keyboard would? Could be overheating my battery?

Seems to be more common when the a/c power cord is connected.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

    > After a few days of this behavior, I thought I'd do a system restore that would change to original bios and the system restore succeeded
This is not good. Restoring the system to refresh the Windows operating system preinstalled, but not the BIOS.

One question; have you noticed any sudden and abrupt stops?
It is a common symptom in case of overheating of the laptop.
The notebooks are supported protection against overheating. This protection will close the laptop if the temperature rises to a higher level.
If the computer laptop doesn t turn off then the temperature inside the computer laptop doesn t come at a critical level.

For most dust and debris inside the cooling modules prevent the fans work properly and therefore these overheating problems could happen
In such cases, it s advisable to clean the fan using a jet of compressed air.

Conversely, the laptop can overheat if you n t use drivers graphics original Toshiba!
The graphics driver Toshiba control the performance of the GPU. If the temperature of the GPU is too high, then the graphics driver decreases performance of the GPU to decrease the temperature of the GPU.
This is necessary because the notebooks do not have huge cooling modules like graphics cards for desktop PC.

The non-Toshiba drivers are not certified and not tested and can not control the GPU performance as the drivers of Toshiba.
That is why a graphics driver non-Toshiba might be the reason of this overheating!

  • Satellite A135-S4417 - boot failure

    Hello

Recently, what action it has been generating a beep and if it stays on he will repeat this beep every 15 to 20 seconds.
However, it is now a boot failure beyond the Vista login screen and everything stops instantly.

Several attempts to start with or without battery or only connected to a power outlet and it is beyond the 'press or ... '. "screen and then stops. No beep.

If it remains beyond this screen, I get the beep as described above.
If I remove the RAM it does not show anything on the screen or beep somehow.

In all cases, that the upward light cooling fan, stay on for a few seconds, then stop, then the laptop dies or keep trying to load Windows and then shuts down immediately. If it becomes quite far as it beeps again in the same range as described above.

The wind side allows me to see the heat sink and it seems clear of debris and I had no cases of overheating.
Without no beeps error or other symptoms I don't see what is really bad or anything to verify.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Are you using the original Toshiba AC adapter? Maybe its defective or may not provide enough amps.

  • Heat and a very slow Satellite A75-S211

I read on a post above that the air vents on the laptops can become dusty, so I vacumed both on the computer of my girlfriend (who is the computer problem here).

Fans were executed at the top almost constantly for some time. I managed to remove three large dust balls (had to pick them across the screens). This does wonders for the fan speed that seem normal now, and I guess that heat is better, even if I haven't used the computer much more before.

I downloaded a utility that I learned on another forum and determined that the processor was working about 40 degrees C, 104 F. I think it's maximum recommended, but I'm not sure. My questions are this (assuming the heat problem is, essentially, cured):

is there a reduced efficiency as the computer takes to guard against overheating of the processor (I'm sure there is) and should be turned "off" once the temperature problem is solved (particularly if the question was for a long time)?

are there programs diagnosis out there that can tell me if the processor is damaged by heat or any other cause?

    Thank you

    L

    Hi Larry,

Assuming you are using the Toshiba Power Management utility rather than the version of Microsoft then your laptop will usually follow a behavioral feature if the CPU is too hot.

In general, as you have already discovered, fans will increase in speed and frequency until they work at top speed for most of the time (assuming that the power management utility is set for maximum performance). If the CPU is always too hot then the laptop is finally off himself in order to avoid any damage. However it is likely that the CPU you will get even hotter since turning off also stops the cooling fans.

The Toshiba power management utility can also be set to change this behavior by slowing down the CPU in order to keep more expenses and thus reduce the noise caused by the cooling fans.

After a reboot, the power management utility must return to its designated frame, which will be all you had set it initially.

The thermal switch that controls the auto standby except in case of overheating of the CPU should have quite a high cost to ensure that the processor is not damaged.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite P20-932 stops because the temperature is too high

When I use my Satellite P20 932 for about 30 min, temperature will rise very quickly! The laptop is automatic turning-off, without any error message.
I try to clean the fan at the bottom of the laptop.

    I'm really desperate.

    Please help me!

It of a just in case of overheating.
The laptop stops automatically to prevent the laptop from damage. It seems that the temperature has risen to the critical level.

I guess that the laptop is a little older and cooling modules and fans inside the laptop can not operate properly because of the dust and debris.
The cleaning of the cooling modules is a great idea, but you must be careful.
If you have no experience, ask a technician for professional cleaning.

Additional you should be sure that there is enough free space around the laptop. It is important for the movement of air correctly.

  • P10 shutting down without blue screen all in research of virus or cleaning

My P10 stops when I scan for the cleaning of the system or viruses. Since I bought the laptop it works absolutely perfect. But 2 days ago, I recognized this work normal such as word, excel, surfing the net and so on, nothing happens, everything works but if I start scan, XP stops. Simply, it turns off as if you unplug circuit! Can someone help me, bad drivers?, false material? I Don t know how to solve the problem! What information do you need?

    Hi Kay,

This looks like a classic case of overheating. Especially if you notice some increased activity fan just before the laptop closed.

Try to clean dust and debris from the heatsink to the CPU. You will find a lot of posts in this forum describing the means to do so. My favorite personla is to use a hose of vacuum cleaner against the aspiration air grills.

It should also, ensuring that the suction air grilles are not blocked and that sufficient air can get into the laptop to cool properly. Are not your laptop on a soft surface or the carpet as this will allow more dust being sucked.

  • Satellite M40X 185 linux live cd, noise and temperature

    Hello

I just bought a satellite M40X-185. I flashed the bios with success of 1.30 to 1.60. Windows XP home (preinstalled) works perfectly. I found three questions:
    1. when I try to boot from a cd live linux (suse 9.3 dvd, knoppix 3.9 or mandrake move) the system hangs. Any idea of this behavior? With knoppix, it seems to hang while loading driver cardmgr. So I thought it was a problem with the linux cardbus but ultimately suse live driver dvd 9.3 has succedded in load correctly if I disable acpi (command-line ACPI = off). TR is the problem related to M40X material and/or bios version or is it related to linux (the kernel version maybe?). Thank you

    2. it seems to me that coolig system is much more noisy when I use the toshiba power management. If I use win XP default portable power management mode, the computer is much quieter!

    3. is there a way to measure temperatures of system (CPU, MB, GPU, etc...). Previously I have hade a satellite A50 and speedfan (www.almico.com) was able to measure all these parameters.

    Thank you

    Hi Sid

I'll try to answer best I can.

    (1) maybe the system BIOS is not really what the Linux kernel expects and so stops. Please see the Linux very good page of Toshiba:
    http://newsletter.toshiba-tro.de
Maybe you will find some tips on Highway M40 Linux ACPI.

    (2) time MS Toshiba power management and power management is supported by the profiles of school boards. Means that you can set according to your need, how the machine should act. In the Toshiba power management, you have many more opportunities than in the version of Ms. In the Toshiba module, you can choose to have machines operating in performance mode which means that it will give priority to the performance (which normally means of cooling by fan) instead of throttling of the CPU in order to limit heat production.
You can also do the opposite - give priority to silence (fan less and less speed) for the performance.
Of course there are some other settings as well (screen, disk HARD times sleep and so on).
I mean, is that the module from Toshiba is probably set up for performance, which means that you get the fan noise. If you like you can set minimum performance and so less noise. It has its advantage the Toshiba module - it is far better to control of the small parameters and levels of breakdown and time. So, you are in more control of your system.
Sorry for the long lesson - I'm the same at home and he is not popular :)

    (3) sorry - no answer here except that I don't know why anyone would want this. That's enough for me to know that the system controls all of these things by himself and goes off in case of overheating.

  • Equium A60 stops automatically after 10 min

My laptop TOSHIBA Equium A60, after 10 minutes of work it disconnects because it seems to become very hot, even if the fan is working?

How can I solve this problem

    Hey Osama,

This looks like a classic case of overheating caused by an accumulation of dust and debris in the vents of execution was cooling. I suggest that you try to use a hose of vacuum cleaner against the bars of suction air on the bottom of your laptop to extract dust and debris.

Make sure also that the laptop is not used in an environment where there is insufficient air, pass through the cooling system.

  • HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook: 1missing driver and USB ports Plug and unplug every 5 minutes on the left side

This laptop has 3 USB ports and the 2 on the left side to keep disconnection and reconnection, but recently it has begun to cut the full power of the 2 on the left even if I use a different mouse it will even turn and I have to use the touchpad. I tested with other mice, and the issue remains the same for the USB ports.

I was told 2 solutions where I have to reapply thermal paste and take it apart to remove the dust in the motherboard and fans.

The second solution is to get the driver missing 1 of Device Manager and make install in the hope that the USB ports are linked to it. I reinstalled the USB 3.0 driver and he got one of them then down to 1.

Power management suspend state link and selective are both disabled so this isn't the issue. And my computer did not freeze or close from overheating what happens in computers with severe cases of overheating.

  • Preformance issues when you play on my Qosimo x 770

    Hello!

I have problems of preformance by playing newer games on my Toshiba Qosmio x 770. Basically, everything works fine the first 30 to 45 minutes of play, but I'm suddenly start getting the temporary fall FPS, which usually lasts from 20 to 60 seconds before everything goes back to normal. The FPS fall occurs more frequently then the more I play, and eventuelly it comes to a point where I can't find it pleasant at all to continue playing. So far, this has happened when the game like Diablo 3, Max Payne 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

My suspicion is that my (Gefore GTX 560 M) graphics card gets overheated as the computer gets very hot. Case of overheating, I think that the clocks autoamtically graphics card down, that eventuelly causes my FPS drops.

I thought that the updated for my video card drivers would solve this problem, but they don't have. (I'm running with the latest 301,42 downloaded from the Nvidias homepage). I even bought an external laptop cooler to better manage the temperature, but the only thing it does is to buy me another 5-10 minutes of play before the start of the late development.

I'm not good with computers in some way, but I really want to get my money's worth when playing computer games. What could I do to fix this? Any help would be much apprecited.

    Hello

Graphic frame drops have been resolved by the BIOS updated
You should check that the Qosmio X series forum there is a long thread on this topic.

1 is it possible to install more then 2048 MB RAM in M70 - 131. If someone tried this?
    2. is it possible to install the new processor of M70 - 131? Now, i've got Pentium M (750) 1, 86GHz (Dothan, 533 MHz). Can I install for example Pentium M (780) 2.26 GHz or higher?

    Hello

The M70 supports max 2 GB of RAM and upgrade the CPU is usually not possible and undesirable for different reasons.
In most cases the overheating is the main reason why you shouldn't t try to upgrade the processor. Secondly, the BIOS was not designed to handle the different processors and no one will be able to tell if your cell phone will work stable after an upgrade of the CPU.

It is not warmed up quickly because it works with the external power supply. However I noticed that the machine gets very hot after a short time, then the pc stops automatically. is that someone can help me please...

    Hi stephanie,.

This soundslike a case of overheating caused by the heat sink of the CPU obstruction with dust and lint sucked up by the cooling fans. You will find this described in the following link:
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA35/satellite-A35-fixing-overheating.htm

You will find that it is easier to use a vacuum cleaner pipe placed on the grids of air intake based on your laptop computer, since it is very effective and doesn't involve any dismantling of you A30.
