Hello

Yes, but in the article it has

Each State history, or snapshot, of an operation that affects the entire image increases the amount of scratch disk space requires the file.

I guess that it is outdated, and and I guess the new photoshop uses the drive working

In short if I increae the history State will be photoshop cc 2015 consume more RAM or use the disc more work?

I guess the answer is that it uses both, but it will certainly impact on the RAM first.   How much RAM you have, and how many States history do you have set?   I expect to be OK with 50 States on a system with 8 GB of RAM.  I use 200 with 32 GB, but Photoshop ever closer by using all the available RAM.

If you are using Windows, open the Task Manager > Performance tab and keep an eye on the use of the RAM and CPU.  I tried it out of curiosity and with all the States of 1000 maximum, the use of the RAM does not change until you start editing.  My system went from 6.2 to 6.8 GB RAM GB used after 100 and 7.6 GB after only 200 strokes brush strokes.

  • Using recovery disks (windows 8.1) to re-install on a replacement hard drive

Hello, I just ordered a DELL Inspiron 3000 desktop computer. I read that DELL power supply is no longer reinstallation DVD.  What happens when (if) the hard drive in the new PC goes wrong? Could I then form a new hard drive in my machine and use recovery disks (which I'd as soon as the PC happens with DELL to the top and recovery) to reinstall everything on this new hard drive? That's how would this work?

    Thank you

    Dominocat

It's a ridiculous bunch of B.S. should not have to ask a recovery media for a system they bought which comes with the ability to make its own recovery media. I used the USB Flash method and the DVD I did when I bought the PC, and none of them works. Never do an option to install Windows. Refresh PC and PC Reset are just as useless when told your recovery media is not "valid". If I had my Windows product key that I have just to run Windows Setup, enter the key and be on my way.

I tried to use the application form to request the media with Dell, but because I am out of warranty web page just a loop and does not always actually apply. It seems that I might have to call Dell technical support and pay by the minute (cell phone), while it is pending. Even the Support email link disappears once the warranty expires. Thank you, Dell. Appreciate the help.

I think part of the problem is that the PC came with Windows 8 (so then the recovery DVDs were made) and since then I've upgraded to 8.1 making it "invalid". But this does not explain the new recovery USB support flash a few moments I did there are that still does not work for 'Refresh' or 'Reset' to my PC. It indicates that lack of recovery files. Should not have checked everything while bringing the recovery media?

At this point, I have now downloaded the free version of Reflect and use to clone the old hard drive before he finally died, and I hope it will work. Good luck to all.

  • Microsoft Cluster in vSphere using RDM disks

Gentlemen, I have doubts that sounds simple, but it is better to ask than to the hurt things.

Here, in the company where I started work two weeks ago. We have two servers of files Windows Server 2012, both are part of Microsoft Cluster Services, these two servers are virtualized on VMware ESXi 5.5, each on a host, here we use vCenter HA and DRS.

Well, these file servers 03 RDM disks connected to the fibre channel, storage only disks are online only on node 1, node 2 drives are present in the computer Manager, but marked offline.

To my knowledge, my experience of simple Microsoft cluster, the disks must be online on all nodes for disaster recovery is quick, for example through cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Hyper-V Server R2 of 2012 using iSCSI storage and always leave the disks online on all nodes.

My question is: is there a reason why a node drives remain online and the other node is taken offline? Because of RDM technology?

I can then do disks on node 2 as well as online without risk?

I'm an environment that left another analyst configured, had never made Windows Server 2012 in virtualized VMware vSphere servers cluster using RDM disks, so made the questions, so instead of simply in clicking on node 2 of disks and makes them online it is better to ask before

    Thank you!

Ivanildo, is the normal Windows Server Failover Clustering behavior, since it is an active/passive cluster architecture, where a single node read/write a disk at a time, and is not a problem due to the use of RDMS in vSphere environment.

The bellow image show two discs a WSFC, where 6 disk Offline on that particular node and the 7 disc is online:

And, do TRY not to put the disks as offline being online on another node through disk management, this task must be performed by using the Failover Cluster Management console.

You wanted to spend 5.7 LR LR 6. I told myself I can only do this via download, but I prefer to use a disk, as it is much more reliable. It seems that I can buy the full product at a greatly inflated price, of the likes of PC World, a disk - then why not upgrade?  Adobe is not interested in amateur photographers? First Photoshop becomes CC only and now this; I also understand that certain features of LR 6.1 are available only via CC.

The download will be always available if you ever need it again.

The last download is available in the links here: Lightroom CC 2015.1.1 is now available

Save links, rather than save the download.

  • Performance/history States preference Photoshop CS3 problem

Hello everyone, I am using windows 7/32 bit and I have a huge problem with my photoshop CS3. When I try to open it it says: could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked.

Then I go to delete the preferences and it works again, but when I close it I get a message that says that Photoshop no longer works so I try to open it again and it still says: could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked. I don't know what to do, I tried everything (restart the computer, remove the preferences, delete temporary files) and nothing works. Please help if you can I have a lot of work and can't do anything with photoshop acting like that. Thank you very much in advance.

UPDATE: it seems that the locked file slipped. But once I open photoshop I change the performance, specific story now because of 100 that I need to have this setting. Once I have it and try to close photoshop that it never closes and it says photoshop stopped working as it crashes or something, but if I do not change the performance/history States it closes normally, I can please help.

    A.

I don't know why it should crash.  It goes to the right when you change the setting?

Assuming that you have installed CS3 from your original, do you have updated to the latest version of Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1)?

  • Don't forget history or use custom settings

Could you give me your opinion please, which is better "remember history or use custom settings. I mean, I know it's for me to decide, but we have one advantage over the other? Home

There is really no difference between the two choices.

"Use the custom settings for history" allows access to the settings of history and current cookie inspection and editing. By selecting "Use the custom settings for history" does not alter the historical settings and cookies. Firefox will keep showing "Use the custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one story and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that the changes have been made. If all the history settings are default and custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will be: remember History.

    • "Never remember history" means that private browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" Gets a check mark.

"Use the custom settings for history" stays selected only as long as one of the parameters of Cookie or history isn't the default to make you aware that the default setting changes have been made.

  • How to format and re - install Windows 7 using recovery disks/Partitions?

    Hello..

    My product-

    HP DV4-5109tx

    Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a free space of 78 GBs that I'm not able to use... As when I try to use the "disk management" and right-click on the free space to "format partition" this option has been grayed out... !!

Please suggest if I can use this space without formatting? (I was suggested for formatting)

In addition, due to some other issues too I want to format my Windows (and reinstall) IE drive C so that the free space problem can be solved... Also I don't want no data in my other drives to be formatted...

I have the recovery partition and the recovery disks sent by HP...

Please help me how I can use them to solve my goal...

    Thank you

It's simple, as I suggested in my previous post.

Once you have a drive like the one on the image management window simply click New Simple Volume. Create a new partition called "New Volume". Make a right click on it and the option to format it will appear.  The strips on the 75,38 GB of free space in your image indicates that the selected action will take place on this point in the disk management window. You can change the name for the new volume in Windows Explorer.

  • I have a computer that has Windows 2000 Pro, I can use the disk to upgrade to Windows XP with this OS?

I have a computer that has Windows 2000 Pro, I can use the disk to upgrade to Windows XP with this OS? It's

an old computer, but it works very well.  I want to switch to XP using the Windows upgrade disc. But

in the specifications it lists only 98, 98 Second and ME as an operating system you can upgrade.  Thanks John

Provided the specifications of the computer meets Windows XP you can switch from 2000 to XP. If it does not meet the specifications, you may upgrade the computer first or get a new one which is more cheaper today.

In addition, please note that you can only switch to Windows XP Professional. If it is a home edition you have then it will not work. You can refer to the link below on how to update your copy of Windows 2000 to Windows XP Pro.

  • My XP desktop seems to have thrown my 'system tools' function and I want to use the disk cleanup and defragmentation... How to get back the system tools?

My computer is as I said above a desk with the microsoft XP program and is a little less than five years.  It has been slow and it dawned on me that I hadn't used the disk cleanup or some defrag for a while, but I clicked on start, all programs, accessories, System Tools was is no longer.  I have not been able to access the disk cleanup or defragment option and hope that out there, can someone advise me how to get this feature.

You can run Disk Cleanup and Defragmenter disk since the start > run box by typing the following

    Cleanmgr
    Dfrg.msc

You can restore all of the 'Accessories' group (including system tools) by following the directions here--> http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Accessories.htm

Or you could just create shortcuts to

    C:\Windows\system32\dfrg.msc
    and
    %SystemRoot%\System32\cleanmgr.exe

Note that % SystemRoot % is the directory where Windows.  You can use this form or explicit as in the example for the shortcut from the Defrag.

  • Using recovery disks that I created.

I recently had to wipe my hard drive clean by using the recovery option on my com computer system Before that, I created 2 recovery discs using the SonicRecordNow program that came with my computer. I saved images, word documents, e-mail settings, etc. on the 2 discs.

Now that my computer has been restored to factory settings, I can not understand how to use the disks created to restore my files, pictures, etc...

You just copied the files and folders to CDs/DVDs, or have you used a backup solution that has been delivered with RecordNow?  HP computers were called "Backup" associated with some old versions of RecordNow.  As far as I know, this is no longer available, but if that's what you used, see this article .
