CC2014 - MTS files do not ingest

I just tried importing some MTS files (without conversion) and no dice.

The error reported was: could not import the file ' filename. MTS.

These are the same files that I used in an earlier draft of the first.  I was able to import a MPEG2 file with no problems.

Thanks for the information.

I just tried to import a single. MTS file with Prelude CC2014 on a Win7 machine, I'm able to import.

So, could you please describe the detailed steps when you encountered the problem? And a screenshot would be very useful.

    Hi ozziethedog,

Creative suite Adobe CS 5.5 is a former software and the operating system you are using is the most recent, so there may be compatibility issues that adobe has not tested these applications on newer operating systems.

However, you can download & install the configuration for Adobe creative suite CS 5.5 from the following link:

Also, I would prefer not to have to transcode anything.  Hours, hours and large files don't really work.

I also looked in repacking.  I understand that clipwrap is perfect for that. However, I have Windows not Mac.  Other options look much too involved.  I would really just my Premiere Pro to work the way it's supposed to.

  • the MTS files do not work in CS6... Why not Adobe

If I have a file in my camera sony in Prem Pro .mts, reports the video but no sound?  If I have him drop it into CS5.5 sound works.

I downloaded an updated version of the Prem Pro from Adobe today June 2012. And still he will not address the mts files?

I don't understand why it is so difficult to find a solution to this problem. two of the worlds biggest companies Sony and Adobe, and none of them covers the question on their site, and yet it is clearly a major problem?

I've seen talk about on the site of renaming of files, which does not work and would be a pain in the rear.

Does anyone have a solution that works?

    Please?

    FIXED Yipeeee!

It is not all good news though, but I have a solution that will definitely work for you, all that it's a bit drastic

This problem has been to kill me. I just want to be able to drag and drop the MCS file in first pro, as I always have with other video files and all the nonsense to shoot the whole folder structure just won't DO, we do not live in the 70s. And thank God, the file structure is just stuff and nonsense.

What is happening is that... something on your PC does not work files (and Adobe do not have any idea what it is) and besides that I do, but until a person learns, I can tell you that a full blow and reload new windows will be 100% solve the problem.

Now, I don't have one for years, so it was a complete pain and took more than a day to recover all the way I like it and to be honest, it will be a week before as I have all my favorite programs work properly.  BUT I can tell you that with Premiere Pro installed, I can now just PULL THE FILES FROM the CAMERA PHOTO HARD DRIVE and let FALL THE LIKE ANYWHERE and better yet, pull them in first ruined as I want and they play 'Sound and all' and that my friends is the way it should be

I really hope this helps some of you, I'm glad it works now and I can get some work done, I began to hate my new camera, but now, I can tell you it's A1

For Adobe, I can tell you that some parameters of another installed program system is clearly the culprit but I can't for the life of me tell you who.  I can say that it is not mine, or the programs fault but a lack of tests on from Adobe.  Because clearly, it is not, and a good number on your forum, and many others. Software should work under any scenario, I'm not running certainly all the strange programs that should cause this.

Until Adobe can pin point a solution and patch their program, I can recommend my solution buy guys and girls make sure to save all your mail, Favorites, passwords, documents and any other valuable to you before doing a clean install and if you will reply in the Groove with our favorite editor PP CS6.

  • . No noise from the MTS files

We use Premiere Pro to edit. MTS files.  We constantly had problems with Premiere Pro does not sound matter.  Normally, updated everything (not only Premiere Pro) will solve this.  We currently have a machine were nothing works, and from this second, we remove Premiere Pro to reinstall and try again.

This nonsense of constantly fighting for the Premiere Pro to import sound lasts for months.  Why is it such a horrible struggle?  Is there something we can do?

There are some good suggestions here, and I'll add a reminder for people to use the media browser to import media (as opposed to the import dialog box) with potentially dependent file like MTS formats.

By 'folder-dependent', I mean the video may be in a directory and audio can be a file in a separate Directory. Then, if you import the video directly it can not see the audio. The media browser is smarter than the import dialog box, so he knows generally how access and import all of the media into a single import. The MTS files are not always dependent case (actually in most of my own media, they aren't) but they can be so it's good to use the media in doubt... browser and which would go to most of the other formats as well.

  • Can Windows Media Player XP play MTS file type? I tried, but the video does not play smoothly. Is this fix really?

I tried, but the video does not play smoothly.  Is this fix really?

There is a possibility that Windows Media Player could
read the file if you rename the MTS to MPG or AVI.

And/or...the suite of freeware Media Player can be
    worth a try.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Media Player Classic Home Cinema
    http://MajorGeeks.com/Media_Player_Classic_Home_Cinema_d6213.html
    (works on XP/Vista/7)
(The name of the file to download is: "MPC - HomeCinema.1.5.2.3456.x 86 .exe ')

If this fails, it may be worth trying to convert the MTS file
    WMV format:

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converters are a few examples:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    (1) Sothink Free Video Converter
    http://www.Sothinkmedia.com/video-converter/
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

You will need to unzip the file... or you could just drag
the Setup.exe from the file out of the folder and drop it on your
    desktop and install from there.

Once installed... Open Sothink and go to... Add the files button...
Find and select the clips you want to convert.

Next... in the encoding settings... Choose... Video credits.
WMV - Windows Media Video (*.wmv).

Choose an output folder and on the left, click on the button convert.

You can experiment with other settings later but
This should help you get started.

    (2) format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
    (the 'direct link' is faster)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup270.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the last screen)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup270.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • filmmaker does not recognize the MTS files

    I use Widows VIsta.
I used the windows Director to edit MTS files and was very satisfied of this. Then it stopped working, it does not recognize the files more. As I have understood, by browsing forums, Director of windows LIVE should treat this type of video file. I've updated Windows LIVE essentials and requirements. Still not recognize the MTS file.  Can someone help me? Thank you.

Your computer may be missing code, download and install K-lite code pack can solve the problem. K-lite code Pack is free and safe, and it includes almost every video code and audio code. Or it can convert your video to wmv video for a test, I know that windows movie maker supports wmv video well. And this guide will show you how to convert mts video to wmv video.

  • Windows Media Player will not play error of MTS files that your computer works at low memory. Quit other programs, and then try again

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit, home premium on a Dell Studio 1558 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4500-5100 graphics card and an Intel Core i3. It has 4 GB of RAM.

When I try to read files MTS using Windows Media Player I get the error message "your computer is low on memory. Quit other programs, and then try again,"even with no other programs running. Windows Media Player will play other types of video files without difficulty.

Any suggestions as to what can be the cause of the problem and how to fix?

    TBH I'm not sure.

All I can say is on my desk, I have not loaded a pack of codecs only support of any kind and WMP12 plays my MTS files very well. Supported by this statement in Windows Media Player 12 is also capable of playing AVCHD formats (. ) M2ts et . MTS ). [13]" from - http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Media_Player and the fact that in WMP12 - "Media files (all types)" MTS has listed as an acceptable format.

My office has an AMD/ATI HD5670, and like I said seems to play.

    1. Have you tried to run a full anti-recent virus scan? If this isn't the case, update your antivirus program and run a scan full to see if it finds problems.
    2. Then try a sfc/scannow scan to see if it detects and fixes something.
    3. Just checked, you have installed WMP12? (it should be, but just a double check).

This type of problem (or similar) has developed before items such as http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-pictures/Windows-Media-Player-and-low-memory-issues/bb4bf226-8bd0-41A5-9eed-9be08e6d3bdb and  http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/answers/ID-1699934/computer-running-low-memory-Windows-Media-Player.html and some people said re-register the DLL of WMP files helped. Personally, I've never needed to test or try this kind cannot confirm.

  • MTS files import does not in first CC 2014

I just installed new updates and tried to start a new project in first CC 2014 and import MTS files. I get an error message saying "the file has a compression type not supported."

I have worked with MTS files in first for awhile now, but I'm stuck which dates back to the old CC Premiere because it's the only way I can import these files. I found one of the great new things in 2014 CC BEST support for MTS and other formats.

Help, please! I'm really excited about all the new features in this update and want to be able to use them for work, but right now I'm super disappointed.

    Thank you

    Jase

I've seen a lot of reports like this, then something goes well.

Try to rename or move the folder with the media.  Then , open the project in 2014 CC.  It will ask you where is the press, that it points to the file renamed or moved.

  • Audio does not add a sequence (mts files)

Very recently, I have a problem where if I drag a video clip (with audio) to the timeline, the video is added; the audio is not.  And it won't let me drag the audio from the source monitor timeline; I get the small ICON of "stop".

I will use the AVCHD (MTS) and the current version of CC PP running on a PC.  CPU i7 with 12G of RAM.  This has just begun.  I suspect that I did something for myself, but I've never had a problem to solve.

    Here's what I do.

I have several clips of MTS files as assets.

I drag a clip to the empty timeline and PP creates the sequence.  The video and audio is added.

I drag another asset (file MTS) for the same timeline and the video is added, but not the audio.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

    Hi EckleySP,

Thanks for posting on the Adobe forums.

Please make sure that Source patch for audio insertion is selected.

    Please update if it works.

  • . Type of compression not support MTS files

    Hello

I opened my first project today and now all my. MTS files are offline. When I reconnect a reception the message failure to import a file - the file has an unsupported compression type.

I worked on the project last night and now it does not work. Any ideas?

Well, I did reinstall it and now it works. .Mts files are consistent.

I wonder if it has to do with different creative cloud accounts. Then I was editing last night on my personal account of the CC (laptop) introduced the hard drive to work and used on behalf of the company (imac) CC.

The other computer colleague that I tested on earlier and worked is actually my second personal machine (G5 tower) I have at work has my personal account of CC.

The works of reinstall for now.

    Thanks for the reply.

Next time I will try the disable & turn on the suggestion.

  • Capture. MTS files in first

With final cut PRO 7, I could go into file > ingest between log and transfer and the software my. MTS clips in my project and store them on my drive to work. I tried the equivalent of Adobe Premiere, which I believe is file > Capture, but I can't seem to make it work. First won't swallow. This way MTS files? I know that I can copy the AVCHD folder on my computer and import the files (file > import), but it creates a new stage. It seemed easier with FCP 7 that I could get the files in my project and store them on my machine at the same time.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

The Caption function is used to record the video stream that coming from a band camera, using reading via a connection that is not very common these days.  It was a part of the workflow on tape.  Most of the industry is passed to a tapeless workflow, using structures like AVCHD files instead.  Capture would take much longer time than the copy that you would have to review the tape to get the real movie off the unit.

When it comes to move files on a media card, the term is Ingest.  We have an ingest tool, prelude, which can copy the files from the card and get them ready for use in first, but it is not necessary.  Just copy the complete directory of the card on the disc structure is very good.

For FCP7, what actually the program copied files on the hard disk, and then transcode them in a format that the FCP could easily work with.  We do not require that.  So, we actually register a step allowing you to copy these files and start editing.

It is technically possible to simply edit the files directly on the map, but it is discouraged.  Copy your files first.

  • Any CC 2014. MTS files?

Premiere Pro 2014 CC does not matter. MTS files? Says unrecognized format.

    Hi Michael,

Most of these problems is due to users not to import images correctly.

    • Copy the entire map and its structure of file on your Media Player.
    • Ingest files via the media browser NOT via file > import or dragging the files in the project Panel.

NOT the following if you have AVCHD video clips:

    • Update the project halfway through your project file.
    • The OS was updated to halfway to the project.

If the AVCHD files get Red pictures or go offline, follow these steps:

    • Change the name of the media folder
    • Remove the media Cache
    • Reissue the clips in any existing sequence.

    Thank you

    Kevin
